Punished by My Cop Neighbor (Dominated by My Cop Neighbor Book 2)

How to Find That Book You've Spent Years Looking For

The heroine is a woman with a small boy. He is approximately the same age as the hero's son. The boys don't get along at first, but as the story unfolds they practicaly become inseparable. The hero's son admits near the end of the story that he was jealous of the other boy because the heroine's son had a mother who wanted to protect him.

See, the story begins in front of store -feed store, maybe- and if I remembert it right, the woman was concerned about her son getting her. The heroine is from Ireland and is on the run. The man, and later his family, accused her of kindapping to separate her from her son. And she saw the ad for a teacher as a chance for escape as far west as possible.

The offer I think included the room and board. Anyway, the matter came before a judge and that is how our heroine came to live on the ranch and became a teacher to his son. Thanks for you help! I am desperately trying to find a book I believe I read in the mid to late 90s not totally sure. It would most likely be Harlequin or Silhouette. It is about a man who is after the person who killed his wife and twin daughters in a car bombing. Then a few months later she discovered she is pregnant.

She has three identical triplet boys and she tries to find the man she spend the night with but with no luck. Then she runs into to him like three or four years later. I think at this point the triplet boys are around three years old and he then protects her and his sons because the man she had been dating for the last six months is the one who initially killed his wife and twin daughters. I think the triplets names were Ryan, Sean and unsure of the other one.

If anyone one remembers this I would greatly appreciate it. I loved this book and would love to read it again. I scanned through the last post but not these ones yet. So if someone has already asked about this book just point me in the right direction please. I mostly remember scenes ant he plot and I think it was a Harlequin.

But it was about a guy, who used to be a surfer I think and now he works for or owns a magazine and is doing a photo shoot of the new swim line. Back when he was still surfing he met a girl had an amazing night with her but was so drunk he only remembers the tattoo on her back and not her face. She owns a shop now that sells organic fiber? I remember the part where she, I think, bets him that her swimsuits are better and she can make the models look better in the shoot than he can.

He makes her wear one of her own suits and realizes that she is the one he was looking for and when he asks why she never said anything she tells him that she already knows who he is. Please help me find this book. It's driving me nuts! I read this 4 or 5 years ago and think it was a fairly recent publication. It's historical European, maybe early s. The hero is in London with friends. His wife is there. It was a marriage of convenience, and they had never lived together. She was struggling to hold the estate together. She nurses him and they fall in love.

The villain ends up trapping them in the same mausoleum, but they escape and live HEA. I have been looking for this book for so long. I greatly appreciate you taking the time to let me know. Hi I'm looking for a book I believe it was a harlequin presents don't remember the title I read it I think 10 years ago or more.

The book was about a heiress whose father made a man marry her because she liked him but after they were married he left her alone for years she thinks she loves someone else but her husband showed her he was only after her money. Sorry it's been awhile but I remember I really enjoyed this book I also believe the cover had a woman in a blue silk dress hopefully someone can help. Hi everyone I've also posted before and I'm getting kinda desperate. The book's title may have the word scandal in it. I can't remember why. I do remember something about a seduction in a chair on the way to London.

Also it was definitely published before Oct 30, , Yes that is the book thank you so much starlight genie it was driving me crazy trying to remember what it was called. I believe that book has a chair scene but I don't remember the rest. Its a long shot but thought I'd mention it. I am new to this site and any help with a title or author would be much appreciated.

I read a paperback novel a number of years ago maybe between - He takes her and the friend with his men. The friend ultimately finds out she is pregnant from the rape. One of the hero's knights marries her. Can someone please help me name this book its been driving me nuts for years! It is right after the Civil war in America. The heroin is of raven hair and they make mention of it that its so midnight black. He plays and gambles away her horse to a rich handsome horse breeder. She runs away but eventually goes to him because he threatens to place her father in jail.

She becomes ill and he nurses her back to health after which she agrees to become his mistress. He then takes her to France and she finds out she is going to have his child. She fears he wont want it after a misunderstanding and so runs away. He searches for her and finds her. He and her then finally reunite at his big house. I read this many years ago. I want to say that there is a woman with black hair on a horse in the cover but i could be wrong.

It may also have the word raven or midnight or dark angel in it.. Hi everyone, I would appreciate the help if anyone knows of a book that I've been searching for a few years now. What I remember is that she has been betrothed already. She's really good with her bow and arrow.

When the hero meets her to marry her, she's being attacked at her house in the woods as he meets her. She believes she's in love with a friend she's known since childhood. But she starts to be really attracted to her hero. She freaks out of how attracted she's becoming of him so she convinces her twin sister to say that she's feeling ill in her bedroom and she escapes in either a rug or trunk I vaguely remember and then goes on horse back to her childhood friends house.

Without realizing that's she's being followed and she's the one who's been the target this whole time. Sorry I wrote a super long post. Hi, I've been looking for a particular historical romance for weeks now. I read it at least 6 or 7 years ago, maybe more. It is similar to 'Flowers from the Storm' by Laura Kinsale in that the Hero is struck down by something that makes everyone believe he has become an imbecile. I think he might be a Duke or an Earl? It is set in England maybe regency or just before.

There is something about all the other family members dying or being killed by the French? I'd be most grateful if anyone knows what this book is. I'm new to librarything and I'm really hoping someone will recognize a book from a very brief description because I can't remember more than the basics of the plot really. Years ago I read a romantic mystery about a cold, cruel twin who convinces her twin sister to take her place.

The cold, cruel twin is in a very unhappy marriage and has a daughter who she doesn't seem to care about at all. The nice twin goes along with her plan for some reason and falls for the husband and the little girl. The husband at first is baffled by her new, kind behavior because he was used to her gold digging, heartless twin and unaware she had a twin. Eventually he starts to fall for the new twin still thinking its his wife. Sorry, that's all I can remember. I know its not very specific.

If you can think of any plots that fit, please let me know! I'm so happy I could cry! Check out the old thread "name that book" Allright gals and? I am still desperately looking for the title of a book I read twelve years ago so here goes: Something like temptation or scandal I think this is the most likely please please help. Posting again in the hopes that someone will end my torment!

I'm looking for a Harlequin, probably for the 80s or 90s. It's about two brothers and one woman. The brother the woman is married to dies. The other brother comes back into her life. Turns out the brother she was married to was gay. That's all I can remember. Hi, I am looking for a romance book I believe it may be from the 80's or 90's. It was about a tree sprite or nymph who awoke from a long sleep to a man coming to this very old house in the winter.

They end up meeting and falling in love. I cannot remember the name of the book because it has been so long since I read it. I think the title may have had the word rose in it, but I'm not positive. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Or possibly Fires of Winter by same author? I'm going crazy trying to find this book. I think its a harlequin superromance from the 90's. It's about a lady who is pregnant, there are two little kids involved and a surly rancher.

It takes place in either montana, north dakota or colorado. The cover has a lady in a blue dress and she's pregnant. I've read both of those books and they're not the one I'm looking for. I don't remember the name or the author, but I remember that its about a woman who walks in on her husband and he's having a threesome with his secretary and another man.

She feels horrible because he was horrible to her and made her feel horrible about herself I think he called her fat, etc. I don't remember what happens after this but eventually she meets this like super hot rich entrepreneur guy, who's like in computer technology or something and she ends up living with him for a bit and they fall in love. I think it takes place like in Washington, I remember fog and water Thanks! Hello Everyone - hope someone can help me. Last year I read a book and did not put it into my Excel sheet - now it is driving me nuts: Taks plase in England - - or so.

Lord X's father dies I think he killed himself Money is very tight so with the help of his mother Lord X opens a gaming hell he is very good with cards No one knowes he's a "Lord" He restores the family money. He meets a woman, falls in love - but if they marry - he then needs to become Lord X and everyone will know he has two identies. Nov 26, , 3: This is in reply to post 66 cmboyd This sounds familiar to a Sandra Brown novel I read some time ago. However, in the book the heroine was not a twin but a look-alike and she took the evil look-alike's place after a plane crash.

I don't know if this could be it The first I do believe is a Harlequin or Silhouette. The heroine arrives from the country to net a husband. She has her old nanny and a younger sister who is very beautiful, but has intellectual disabilities. At some point, someone tries to kidnap her sister. The heroine eventually gets married to a reformed rake who is ashamed of his past. The second book is actually the first part of a trilogy. It was also an historical set in England. All I remember is that there were three sisters who somehow became separated and they belonged to a theatrical family.

The third is more recent and is the first of a trilogy of three sisters. Also an historical, the sisters are fashionistas and set up their shop in London. This story is about the oldest sister who has a daughter. There is a fire started by a rival that burns down their shop and they move into the love interests home. If so, you might be interested in knowing that the third book in the series is due out this month.

I've been finding this book for years!!! But she went nevertheless, but ultimately she came up and went back to the shack where they made love. There was another scene where she felt someone staring at her from the woods. Please if someone know the book title help me out!! Thank you so much! I think my hero is an Earl. Again thanks - I'll get there yet. Everyone have a Great Thanksgiving! I've being going quite mad, especially as I'd like to read the sequels. Gonna to ask again. I'm looking for three books now. Is the heroine goes to Dawson city then to the goldfields to locate her father Hero's name is Logan I believe.

She ends up marrying him and they leave to go to his claim by dog sled. She still ends up sleeping with him and gets pregnant. She then ends up being employed by the hero's wife who is also pregnant, making her dresses. The wife discovers the other woman is pregnant and does not know its her husbands and shames the woman. The wife also ends up trying to kill her own child with a pillow but is stopped and I can't remember if they put her in a home or what but the hero ends up with the Heroine and finds out she has his baby as well.

This one takes place in Australia on a sheep ranch. Dec 2, , He is supposed to be engaged to her sister. She offers to marry him in her sister's place. Also they're father wanted the sister to marry the man so he could pay off the family's debt. Dec 8, , 9: Hi I am looking for 3 novels. I think there may be more. They might be half brothers. There mom has remarried. One of the books there is an art gallery and the woman who runs it gets kidnapped by her brothers drug running friends.

The other book one of the sons has a daughter. Hi first I want to excuse myself. I am looking for a novel. I just remember there was kind of a bet about a mansion going on between the hero and the heroine because of the heroes brother. I was kind of just looking through the book, I haven't really read it. Dec 8, , Just found out about this place, this looks great.

English not my first language, so sorry for any mistakes. I read some posts from the previous thread and I recognized a couple books that I'm also looking for I think Can't remember the author, much less the title or the characters names. The 1st was posted in It is set in England near the Thames. In the beginning the heroine is a highwayman dressed as a boy and is in charge of a group of orphaned boys.

She tries to rob a nobleman and he captures her and takes her to his home to be punished. When they go to spank her they figure out she is a she and he decides to keep her and train her to be a lady. In the end she ends up being or looking like someone important that they were looking for all along. Some other random things: I think she had her first "tub" bath and compared it to bathing in the Thames.

See a Problem?

I believe she had long red hair. During regency time in London, somehow the heroine is passing as a servant boy in the hero house, I think that she tried to rob him, but the hero was sorry and gave her a job instead and then the hero some lord starts to have feelings for the 'boy', when he finds it's a girls instead, he makes her his mistress and in the end eventually they get married. I think that she also was someone important who was kidnapped and got amnesic.

I'm starting to feel that I'm mixing 2 stories The 2nd was posted in I think he was drunk or something and she tries to rob him and his friend and he catches her and forces her to marry her. Shes actually suppose to be an aristrocat who got kidnapped when she was young. I remember then the heros father teaching her how to be a lady and then launching her into society and shes all beautiful and witty and successful.

The hero falls for her without realising shes his wife and i remember how she kept visiting the streets to feed some orphans or something and the hero meets her there again asking for a divorce or something along the lines Hi- new member -: I am looking for a futuristic romance from the 80's or 90's. A female pilot or law enforcer of some type crashes on a prison planet. The decedents of the original prisoners are living there and have formed a somewhat barbarian like society swords, etc.

She and the hero fall in love and eventually leave the planet. There is some political strife, as the decedents of the original prisoners were being kept on the planet even though they hadn't done anything. I can't really remember the details. The heroine had a vine tattoo that wrapped from her foot, around her leg, across her back, to "bloom" on her chest. I think she had red hair. I kept thinking this book was by Elizabeth Lowell or someone mainstream but I can't find it anywhere. Anyone have a clue what book this is? Thanks for any thoughts!! The first book was Warrior's Woman.

I know the female lands on the heros planet when her planet is invaded. The hero's planet is a barbarian planet where woman are second class citizens. He ends up going back with her to help her planet out. I don't think she had a tattoo but maybe its another book in the series? Im new to this and its all because im desperate to figure out this book.

I do not have a lot of information but it starts in London. This woman who is living with her aunt and uncle is sent to live with the aunts brother. The aunts brother makes advances towards the woman. She tries to escape and the brother is killed in the fray. She runs from the house and is snatched up and taken to a ship captain because she is mistaken for a prostitute. After that night she goes back home to her aunts and uncles she ends up being pregnant and they make the captain take her with him as he was leaving to America after they collected money from him.

He thinks he was tricked and makes it hard for the woman. She becomes very ill on the ride to America. He lived on a plantation of sorts with a woman neighbor he was intimate with. The neighbor is very jealous of his wife they were married in a quick ceremony before they left london the thought of the murder of her aunts brother follows her and she believes she is at fault.

I think there was another character that was rhe brothers accomplice he was a creepy, slight kind of man. I hope someone can help me and I get the chance to help someone else! Isn't this The Flame and the flower by Kathleen Woodiwiss? I would never have found it. Even the brief description on amazon would not have jogged my memory. I had to try a sample just to be sure. Dec 23, , 3: The boy ran away to sea to become a sailor and have a great adventure. So, the girl dressed up, pretending to be a boy and went to meet their newly appointed guardian. The Duke, trying to "man up" his new feminine looking ward took him her to a bordello very comical and that was where he found out that he was actually a she!!

He ended up marrying her and then had her twin brought back from the ship he was on. I think the girl's name was Alyssa and her twin was Nicky. There is more to the story but any help you can give would be appreciated. I've been looking for this book for a while but couldn't find it. I don't remember a lot of details. It's about a model coming back to her hometown. The book starts with her speeding when she's going into town. The male character is a cop and they went to high school together. Any help finding this book would be greatly appreciated!

I'm looking for a book about a woman who is married with a small daughter. She is hit by a car, I believe, and dies while in the hospital. But, she decides that it's not her time yet and takes over the body of a single woman who was also injured. She recovers from her new body's injuries and finds her husband and daughter to check up on them they end up becoming friends and more.

In the end, the husband finds out or she tells him what happened and after a while they end up back together. I believe it was a Silhouette or Harlequin. I am in need of your help! I have been trying to figure out the title of a book. Here is a summary of what I remember of the plot Ringing any bells for anyone? I am a newbie here The heroin however disguised herself as a normal girl and work at a ranch.

She likes all the heavy machinery used at the ranch. The hero is her boss and owner of the ranch. He treats her like his other worker and has a girlfriend i think. The girlfriend is very vain and the heroin notice that his girlfriend pretends to be trendy but actually she is not. I have been looking for a specific romantic book for ages. I came across this site today and thought I would give it a try. I think he has nightmares and the girl tries to help him with that. I am not so sure on the specifics. So some of the above could be totally imaginary. I hope someone can help me!

I came across this site today and hope someone can help me. Here's what I remember: The heroine is from France, an orphan, goes to love with her uncle? Her cousin is an heiress. The hero is poor nobility and must marry for money. He visits the uncle's estate with his two friends to court the cousin. One of the hero's friends helps set her up with a shop in London where she resells dresses. Thanks so much for the help! I'm glad I found this thread. I'm new to posts like these so bare with me. I've been trying to find the name of this book for a long time now and it's driving me crazy. I don't remember much of the plot of the story or the names of the characters 'coz I read this book a while back.

What I do remember though is that this book is kinda on the adult romance genre. The story starts where a beautiful virgin young woman daughter of a man of power - probably a politician gets raped by a fat, short and old diplomat not really sure if he's a diplomat but he scares the girl by saying she can't tell anyone 'coz he has immunity in that country. After being raped she is kidnapped by the same diplomat but she gets saved by a man love interest 1 but then she gets caught again by the diplomat and after some time saved by another man love interest 2.

She then gets abducted by tribal people and she was deemed to be "the one" deity or something maiden or sun goddess because of her beauty. Love interests 1 and 2 joins this ritual and 2 wins and they escape from the tribal people. Going back to civilization she gets confronted by the two love interests to choose between them who she loves most.

She chooses love interest 1 but near the end she realizes, she loves love interest 2 more so she leaves 1 for 2 and they live happily ever after. I forgot most of the scenes and it was a thick book so there were a lot of scenes I forgot I wanna read them again but I just can't remember details that will lead me to the book. I don't know if what I read was already an omnibus or just a very long novel.

New to this, but hopefully someone can help! I've tried searching for this book, but Google is failing me. It's a regency romance novel. He takes her to his country home, and she gets along with his staff. Possibly something about her organizing his library. She gets pregnant, but hides it from him. He takes her back to London, and she continues to hide the pregnancy from him she's miserable in the carriage ride to town -- I think because she's trying to be the perfect ton wife.

Her morning sickness gets so bad that she avoids callers; and then she's still so tired in the afternoon, that she cleverly avoids social calls and stays home to be well enough to go out for evening events tells Lady A that she'll be at Lady B's musical, tells Lady B she'll be elsewhere, etc. When her husband realizes that he is in love with her, he tries to track her down in the afternoon, going from point A to B to C, etc. They both profess their love, he takes her back to the country, and everything ends well. Hi guys I'm new here! I need help finding this book.

I of course can't remember the name of the book or author or even character names but heres what I do remember: The woman moves in with the cowboy, I think she works at a theater, or maybe she's a mail order bride, but the cowboy pretends to be his twin brother throughout the story, who she eventually falls in love with. I remember there was an Indian couple living in the back yard and she helps the woman give birth.

Also, at the end of the book is when she finds out that the guy has been playing as his rough and tough twin brother. If theres any way you can help me it would be much appreciated!!! She ends up falling in love with 'Lucas Holt' who had a twin brother 'Slade Holt'. Slade was brought up by Indians and is the rougher of the two. Lucas pretends to be both Lucas and Slade throughout the book to lure an enemy out of hiding. Hi all, I'm new to the group and the site. Hoping someone can help me with the title or author. It's historical fiction possibly regency. I loved how protective he was of her, hence the name of the book.

And of course, I loved Willa snarky attitude. She was a great secondary character as was Evan. This book was a bit on the short side, but it was still very enjoyable. I had some funny moments, of course some steam, a bit of angst, and a bit of suspense. The only thing I felt was missing from the book was knowing Derek's story. I wanted to know what his upbringing was like or why he decided to be a cop. I don't think there was enough info in the book for me to know Derek completely.

However, that didn't affect how much I loved the guy. Overall, a really great read and I loved it. I look forward to reading more books from this author. And thanks to Jen for buddy reading this with me. View all 49 comments. I love finding an amazing book by pure chance. I particularly love when in doing so, I discover an new and amazing author. What did I love about this book? I mean my goodness! It had it all: So please excuse me a moment while I take a moment to myself I can't find enough good things to say about Protecting What's His. It has b I love finding an amazing book by pure chance.

It has been a very long time since I've read a book and loved absolutely everything about. Ginger and her sister Willa had me laughing out loud at times with their banter. I can't carry the whole thing, skunk-vag! You're only using one hand! Did he just hear one of them call the other donkey-queef? She was not the typical shy, virginal wallflower. She was outspoken, stood up for herself, and made Derek work for it.

Now as for Derek I was fanning myself more than once throughout the whole book. I mean the man is just yummy But one more thing. Ginger's mind reeled as he ran his tongue upward in one long lick of her neck. That's your man moving inside you" The man truly doesn't mince his words "Listen to me, baby. There won't be any time, because you've got me strung so damn tight I can barely thing straight. View all 11 comments. As soon as we met him I knew- We also meet the lovely Ginger. Who is strong yet vulnerable.

She saw a way out for her and her sister and took it. Love a strong MC. As soon as we met her I thought, "oh yeah, I like her- This girl is going to be a riot. Laughing And equal parts aroused. When these two finally do the dirty Lets not forget about the spunky, sarcastic, funny, loyal, loving Willa. She was an awesome secondary character. The way she looked out for her sister made me instantly love her.

So if you want a sexy, funny, read with a HEA look no further than this book! I recommend this book to everyone! View all 44 comments. Mar 05, Pam rated it really liked it Shelves: Ginger and Willow moves in across the hall from Lieutenant Derek Taylor. A spanking followed by a long, wet ride on my dick? Everything happened in a span on two weeks or so, but we did get an epilogue. Really looking forward to the next one in the series. Mar 04, Jill rated it it was amazing. This book was seriously sizzling. I am probably not going to be able to do it justice, but I am seriously going to try because I think this could be one of those books that people pass by and I beg you, don't!

Ginger Peet is our main female character and what a lady. She is 23 and because of a drugged up, prostitute mother she has been taking care of her younger sister, Willa, her whole life. They take the money and run to Chicgao where they meet Derek Tyler and the pursuit begins.

I loved Ginger, she is comes across as this really confident girl, very assured of herself, but what she really is, is a survivor. The banter between her and her sister was hilarious, but unlike some books where the humour can get to much, it didn't feel false or contrived. I felt really connected to these characters in a really short time, the book isn't long, that has got to say something about the authors ability to create wonderfully real characters worthy of our time. Derek is another great character, he is a cop, a protector, a totally hot, jealous, alpha who brings a whole new meaning to " Protecting What's His".

He wanted Ginger from the beginning and went after her with cocky, single mindedness. His bluntness was all we have come to expect and more of a bossy dominant character. The words this man came away with , phew!! But one more thing". Derek leaned forward, resting his hands on either side of her on the counter, then dipped his head lower. Ginger's mind reeled as he ran his tongue upward in one long like of her neck. For all the length of this I was totally sucked in, the storyline was interesting and I felt a connection to these characters, I wanted their happy ending.

Sometimes the simple things really are the best and I don't mean that as an insult, totally the opposite. This is quite simply a very enjoyable romance book and I don't have a single complaint. I will be recommending this to all my romance book, alpha loving friends. View all 20 comments. From the title, the cover photo, the blurb, the dirty talks, a sensual badass heroine and a sexy cop hero.

Playing mother to her younger sister, she tried different jobs and been to different odd situations that force her to grow up fast. Tyler got curious to his new neighbor and her minor sister, he browse the police file for any info which leads him to the missing girls, their mothers criminal files and her connections to suspicious people. But with his growing curiosity also builds his attraction to Ginger. He hide what he knows to protect and keep Ginger on his side. For a debut novel, two thumbs up.

The only lacking was Derek's background was not tackle so much and focus only on "touching family sitcom moment brought to you by the letters F and U"-Willa of Gingers family. But Nevertheless, this is good hot read! View all 9 comments. Apr 21, Penny rated it it was ok Shelves: No wow factor, nothing special or worth remembering. Story-wise it was lacking , there wasn't much there and the romance needed more development. The conflict resolution felt rush, and was extremely cliche, predictable and bland.

I have to say that I did like that Derek was the domineering kind, I have always liked the type. View all 4 comments. Mar 02, destini mia rated it it was amazing Shelves: It had a great story, never lagged, and was really hot. With a drugged out mom, Ginger Peet has had to take responsibility over her teenage sister. With the money and their belongings, she heads on over to Chicago to start a new life. There she moves in next door to the delicious cop, Derek Tyler.

The last thing Ginger needs is to get involved with a cop, but Derek isn't taking no for an answer. Ginger's probably one of my favorite heroine. She had attitude and a sense of humor, but also a little vulnerable. With always trying to shield her sister from everything he mother was or wasn't she didn't have the time to focus on herself. She could joke around and have a good time, but when it came to protecting her family, she was serious.

And don't think I can't do it. Derek was a great guy too. Besides wanting Ginger for her body, he also wanted her heart. He wanted Ginger and did whatever he had to do to get her, including playing dirty. They loved to banter back and forth, and you could tell how well they fit together. The image will haunt me when I leave for work this afternoon.

Kneeling over her, he yanked the covers and narrowed his eyes at her oversize sweatshirt and leggings. But I've already read one deliciously sinful, shamelessly steamy book that enraptured me from start to finish. I loved Protecting What's His. Twenty-three-year-old Ginger Peet hasn't had an easy life.

Every day she struggles to provide for herself and Willa, her seventeen-year-old younger sister. The girls' mother, Valerie, wastes her life away as a drug addict and never gives a second thought to her daughters. From a tender age, V has only been here for a few days. From a tender age, Valerie always brought drugs and men home without caring whether her daughters knew she was turning tricks. Forced to grow up too fast, Ginger has always looked out for Willa and tried her best to make ends meet for both of them.

So one day, when she finds her mother passed out on the couch with a purse full of cash, Ginger can't resist the temptation. Determined to give them a fresh new start, she takes the money and Willa with her and moves to Chicago, leaving her hometown of Nashville and her mother behind. Lieutenant Derek Tyler is suffering from a bad hangover. One of his officers was killed during a raid and the funeral is today.

The day has barely begun and it's already shaping up very badly. The last thing he needs is two females making an absurd amount of noise moving into the apartment across from his. When he confronts the two, he is completely unprepared for the beautiful brown-haired vixen he sees, who easily holds her own with him and displays plainly undisguised wit. Derek is unable to deny the immediate attraction he feels and begins to pursue her with irresistible singlemindedness.

Ginger is very much tempted by this gorgeous homicide lieutenant who lives just next door. But she is carrying around some emotional baggage, and is hesitant to have anything beyond a physical relationship. When they finally give in to each other, Ginger tries very hard to keep it purely about the sex, but Derek wants so much more from her. Will Ginger take the plunge and give him what he wants? Or will she decide that it just isn't worth the risk? This book has one of my favorite tropes. A sexy, domineering, possessive alpha male who just can't keep his hands off his female and never takes no for an answer?

A confident and sassy girl who is sharp and witty and knows how to keep her man on his feet? Throw in the undeniable chemistry and sizzling sexual tension, and you get a magic combination. Derek and Ginger's mutual attraction was definitely off the charts. I enjoyed watching both of them dance around each other. Every time they met, their conversations were so charged and the pull so strong that it was clear they would not keep their hands off each other for much longer.

The story never lagged; it was heart-stopping through and through and not to mention, scorching hot. He was bossy and demanding, sure, but he was sweet too. Once he met Ginger, he started pursuing her, with so much fierce intensity and persuasiveness that she just couldn't resist. Derek was willing to do whatever he could do to get her, and I absolutely adored how determined he was and how he was never afraid to take what he wanted.

His decisiveness was such a turn-on - he knew what he wanted and he did anything to get it, including playing dirty. Boy, did he play dirty. And men who talk dirty are also a hit or miss for me, but I truly loved Derek's dirty talking. The things he said got me so hot and bothered I had to fan myself a few times. But Derek had a soft side to him as well, and I loved him most when he was sweet, warm and caring. He's a good man. He's loyal and kind and courageous and cares about his officers.

Most of all, he was always there for Ginger as a source of solace and comfort whenever she needed it. Once Derek was certain what he wanted from Ginger, he was never afraid to show her how he felt. He was resolute in banishing her insecurity and fears, and he broke through all the carefully erected barriers protecting her heart. He would fight every single insecurity swimming around in that head to keep her.

Ginger balks at the prospect of a serious relationship at first, but she cannot deny her connection with Derek. Had always used her looks to her advantage.

Name That Book cont. Part II

But he wanted more. Ginger was an easily likeable, vivacious woman. She comes across as strong and brave and looks like she has everything together. She has a good sense of humor, but when it comes to her sister's safety, she does not take it lightly. Ginger is light-hearted but also very loyal and willing to stand up for what she believes in. She also knows that she looks like a siren and therefore is adept at using her looks to get what she wants, especially from men. But in reality, she has a vulnerable side to her personality: He saw every flaw, every sin, every regret in her and still he wanted her more than anything else in the world.

He never once judged or blamed her, but saw what she did not: Derek gave Ginger nothing but unconditional love, knowing that the two of them had a soul-deep connection from the start. He was so protective of her and was strong and unshakable whenever she needed his strength. I may have swooned. It took Ginger some time to realise her true feelings for Derek which she had been hiding from herself all along, but as she slowly comes out of her shell, she becomes a vibrant, lively woman whom I couldn't help but love.

The two of them have some pretty amazing and funny banter that I enjoyed reading. And the steam level did not disappoint me either. Their conversations alternated between making me laugh and turning me on. If the two of them were sparks, whenever they were together they created a conflagration. The only slight issue I had was the lack of knowledge about Derek's past. His background is very much glossed over and it was quite a shame because I had looked forward to getting to know him more, what drove him, what made him the way he is.

Willa, Ginger's younger sister, was a sassy, devil-may-care antisocial punk. But there was a side story about how she met a boy in Chicago high school, and though it was glossed over, I liked seeing a hint of sweet teenage romance as well. It was a lovely side story. And the ending - it made me feel all the emotions at once.

I was tearing up over Derek, how he really would do anything for Ginger. How much he really loved her. Dear Lord, he is everything you could want in a man.

I'll definitely be looking for more books by Tessa Bailey - she's done it for me with her enchanting style of writing, unbelievably sexy heroes, and one-liners that will either make you drop your panties or laugh till your stomach hurts. Protecting What's His is definitely a must-read. I just love these two so much and I can't let them go.

I cried reading this. I really need to hear your voice. Maybe I should have told you how I feel before now. I may or may not be swooning right now. Feb 26, Jen rated it really liked it Shelves: I enjoyed it Mel even if I was a slow poke!! This is the first book in what promises to be a very sexy, action packed romance series. There are already at least three more booksi in this series that are already written, and after reading "Protecting What's His," I will most definitely be checking them out!

The first installment begins with two sisters who leave Nashville to get away from a mother w For starters I would like to thank Meli Mel for Buddy Reading my first Tessa Bailey book with me! The first installment begins with two sisters who leave Nashville to get away from a mother who has serious issues. Ginger has been responsible for her 17 year old sister, Willa; for quite awhile and when an opportunity arises to take Willa to Chicago, she jumps at the chance. The girls end up across the hallway from one seriously grumpy lieutenant with a big chip on his shoulder at first. Derek immediately feels majorly attracted to Ginger, and he decides he just has to have her This dirty talking, sexy, possessive cop gives new meaning to the title "Alpha Male!!

They were explosive together, and even though Ginger was an independant woman; Derek was able to break through her walls and see the vulnerable side to her. I adored how protective he was, and also the lengths he went to make sure that no one touched what he thought of as "HIS! They were great together! I was highly amused with every conversation they had with one another.

Willa had such terrible language, and some of the words she came up with; as well as the statements she made cracked my up! They also carted around this life size statue of Dolly Parton; which was amusing all on its own! All in all this was a highly sexy and amusing story. Not only was there some sizzling sex though, there was also a great storyline thrown in.

Tessa Bailey doesn't just write a story with sex in it, and little else; she writes a story with substance. Her hero and heroine are people that I would totally have over for supper; which is very refreshing--especially when it comes to a heroine. I forgot the title, but I think the title was a double entendre. The book is a story being told by a primate, chimpanzee or ape. The primate is discussing where we are heading as humans, a kind of warning about how we are impacting the environment. I do recall a metaphor where the primate describes a person believing they were flying a pedal powered craft, and the primate said, from the pilot's point of view they may believe they are flying even as we can observe they are falling, and until impact they may maintain their belief; something to that affect.

I wish I could remember the name of this book as I was enjoying it before I returned it. I read a short story in college as part of Southern gothic literature course. Story is from perspective of adolescent black boy who lives with his grandmother in Jim Crow south. I read a southern gothic short story in college that has always stuck in my mind except for the title. The girl has nothing but disdain for her uneducated poor family and neighbors. She wants the items to decorate her city dwelling and to impress her intellectual circle.

Officer Buckle and Gloria by Peggy Rathmann - Stories for Kids - Children's Books Read Along Aloud

When a dog gets hydrophobia he becomes convinced that there are only bones. The dog becomes jealous when his mistress acquires a male admirer. I am looking for a romance book, I do not know the name or what year it was published just that I read it before Here is what I know. The heroine is from England and the hero is not English or American. She had a child with him, that he did not know about. The heroine was hit by a car while walking across the street, she is very sick, has pneumonia, but the hero thinks she is a drug addict because when DFS was called on her to check on the child, because they live in poverty the heroine, the DFS person noted a white powder on the counter top, which was actually flu powder, the heroine also had a knife because she was cutting carrots.

The hero hires a nurse to take care of the heroine also. My boyfriend read a book when he was about 15, he said it had the word game in the title. He does these things for money and the price increases with every new task he is given. Samantha - I don't know the title of the children's ghost story book you're looking for, but I do know the story about the marble knight is called Man Size in Marble, by Edith Nesbit. The one about the artist may be Schalken the Painter, by J.

Sheridan Le Fanu - the artist paints a portrait of a young woman called Rose. Sorry I couldn't be more help! I'm trying to remember the name of this horror book my brother had in the 90's, i can vaguely remember the plot and the cover and nothing else. I don't know why i'm thinking font in the title was like goosebumps but this was from what i remember it was way to dark and graphic for that series.

I am looking for a book I read a few years ago. I remember there being a unicorn somewhere. Looking for a book I read a while ago about a blind woman who was raped while in college after the ordeal she isolates her self. One day a doctor shows up at her door about a surgery that could help her regain her eyesight. She's hesitant to trust him at first but eventually does. Some of its a haze but I believe her sister was getting married and while preparing she discovers the man her sister is about to marry is the man that raped her. Looking for novel I read years ago about a man who is on a ship, does something wrong and is penalized to sail on ship after ship through many many years sailing with some of the most famous captains of all time and I believe some pirates..

Would love to read again if I could remember what book it was!!! Looking for a book that I read in the 70s about a Native American girl. It was basically about her life but what I remember is that she had a pet rabbit that she loved and which she eventually had to sacrifice to save a sibling's life. Looking for a book that I read in the 70s. It might have been a Scholastic book. It was about a young Native American girl and her life with her tribe.

What I remember best is that she had a pet rabbit that she loved and which she eventually had to sacrifice to save the life of her sibling. American couple, baby and nanny on flight to Ireland when the plane crashes. The sole survivor is the baby, who is rescued and taken to Ireland. Story ends with the baby's brother meeting her and falling in love.

American couple, baby and nanny on flight to Ireland. Plane crashes en route to Ireland, only the baby survives. American brother meets her years later and falls in love. Small book - Christmas theme - daughter becomes sick and a male visitor appears and acts as an angel to save the child. Twin sisters from the same coven, one is really without a soul as a bad woman who was murdered by a demon centuries bf, who betrayed him, split the soul of two sisters The two fall in love and she becomes pregnant but she has a vision of what the end will be.

The bad woman who is working with another, end up dying and only one of the two sisters can survive, as there is only one soul. Also, the coven is murdered, her sister is taken to hell, where she is impregnated by the devil or another demon, who is the one working with the bad woman. The 2nd sister is glamored into not remembering she had a twin during that time.

It ends with the 2nd sister and her baby dying as she gives the remaining soul to her sister. Some details may be a little mixed up. Twin sister comes home to join her coven, after a death in the family, and there are strange neighbors with powers, who murder someone, bury and glamor all evidence away. They take an interest in her and she ends up falling in love with the main male character, who I believe is part demon or something. There is a prophecy that this demon tries to prevent, which is by killing each woman reborn, of the love of his life who betrayed him and he inturn killed her, after she cursed him.

Lucifer or another demon, r working with this woman, and they entwines and split a soul between two sisters to hide the evidence of her rebirth, kill a lot of the coven and then steal and impregnate the other sister. She becomes preganant and the bad lady tries to kill her and the only way to save herself and her sister, is to sacrifice her life and that of her child, so her sister gets the good soul.

I think it somehow was entwined with the baby but some areas are vague. What is the name of book where girl is taken in by bird people and raised in a library and threatened by dragon people I know she had a friend that clung to her hair and her shoulders a lot. Please help with the name of the book?

I cant remember the title if someone could please help i would appreciate it!! This may be a short story and it's about two young boys that are twins. The "bad" twin does bad stuff and the "good" twin tries to cover it up or be helpful But in the end there is a twist and you find out it's only one boy. I read this in an English high school class in the late 80's.

For some reason I think of Ten Little Indians but not sure if that's part of it. I read a book in when I was a 6th grader about a guy who is struck by lightening and wakes up in a war. The war had Japanese or Vietnamese soldiers I forget which. I believe the story begins with him in the attic or basement of his house and looking through old war items his father had because he was a veteran.

He is struck by lightening when he is riding his bike. I am not sure of anything else but I remember this book being short. I'm looking for a book I read a few years ago when I wasn't quite a young adult. I remember that it had like a pink and green cover, it was a young adult novel. The summary of it is that there were 2 girls who were best friends but the best friend of the main character was getting "too popular" for the main character and they split ways because of that. She became a bully towards her. Then our main character went to visit her dad at work and met his new assistant and they clicked.

He brought her to parties and such without the dad knowing. They had a secret relationship. But then at the end, when it was her school dance, her former best friend was trying to take away her man because she didnt deserve someone so hot. But main character just laughed and her bf asked the former best friend to dance, knowing that former best friend was way to insecure and main character knew that he loved her for her and not because shes hot or unpopular. It was an illustrated childrens' book in the library of the small private Catholic school I attended til I was 10 and I can still remember the pictures so clearly, and have searched for almost two decades with no luck.

It has several short stories and there's faint blood splatter on nearly every page. There was a story about a couple who moved into a cottage in a small town -- the husband is warned about the stone knights in the church coming to life on a certain night and he goes to see if all is well, but only notices two fingers broken off one statue. When he returns home, his wife is dead but in her clenched hand are the stone knight's fingers.

There's one about a cowboy set to be hanged but his neck stretches crazy long and he runs around terrorizing everyone with his eyes bulged out until someone shoots him dead. There's one about a painter who meets this young woman and something about a rose and he paints her portrait and at the end finds out she was actually a ghost. And one about a homeless? They move into a castle her aunt and some cousins are in but is maybe really supposed to belong to her and her sister now I think.

She meets a handsome land owner, Adrian who has a black stallion. And then in the end they find out it was the crazy aunt the whole time trying to make her think the place was haunted and to drive her away.

Late May 2016

I am looking for a book It's about a woman who owns a civic center for her neighborhood trying to keep kids off the streets. She teaches pole dancing classes to elderly women to. He is the leader of a rock band and is known as the dark prince. He chooses her as his mate when he is a child and now other races are hunting her to get to him. Because if they kill her they can weaken him.

That is the basics of the story I remember way more than that but I can't seem to find the book anywhere now. Can someone please help me? A short story about a Native American? After the week her brother and her are brought back home and while her brother is in bad shape after spending the week eating crickets and berries, she's healthy as ever. They ask how they did it and after she explains they don't consider it cheating since she did survive the week in the woods.

She works at a marketing firm and rarely goes home to visit her father and step mom on the farm. She gets laid off and goes home to the farm to regroup. She ends up using her skills to help her parents create a vacation spot out of the farm. Her brochure gets the attention of the high powered executive she had worked for and eventually gets her an even better position at the marketing firm. There's this book that I've been looking for. I remember a phrase on the front cover but not the title itself or the author. The phrase is something along the lines of "would you rather have the perfect life or the perfect love.

In both lives, she looks exactly the same but her lives are very different. In one, she's really rich and has the ideal family and boyfriend. In the other, she's really poor and only lives with her mom. Whenever she turns 18, her parents throw her a huge birthday party at her house. She's afraid that the party is going to last past midnight and experience the switch herself, which she's never done before. She's also met another guy in her other life where shes poor and starts to fall in love. She starts contemplating what life she wants to stay in and plans to kill one of her selves just to stop the cycle.

I don't remember the author or the title, just a phrase on the front cover. The phrase says something along the lines of "would you rather have the perfect life or the perfect love. She switches at midnight every night while she's sleeping. Her 2 bodies are exactly the same, but her lives in each are very different. In the first one, she's really rich, has the ideal family, and has the perfect boyfriend.

In the second, she is poor and only lives with her mom. In the life where shes poor, she's also met a man that she's starting to fall in love with. One day, in her second life, she injures her ankle. She's worried that she'll wake up in her other life with an injury as well, but the injury doesn't transfer over.

She starts to contemplate what life she wants to live in and starts experimenting on her body. She starts off by cutting herself to see if the injury transfers over. She dyes her hair to see if it also changes when she switches back and forth. She ends up in a mental hospital because her mom thinks she's suicidal from all the injuries and changes and stays there for a while.

The man that she likes works there and she tells him about her switching. He doesn't believe her at first but she ends up proving it to him. A girl gets in trouble for partying. Gets in trouble with drugs. Judge sentences her to Africa to help at an orphanage. The kids get kidnapped sometimes to either be used for soldiers or sold. A favourite book of mine 35 years ago Two sisters? One is grateful for life's basics. One wants the best of everything even though it is beyond her means and she loses it all.

The poorer sister is the happier of the two. The book alternates between her perspective and the perspective of an alien living on the same planet. The alien finds her hiding in a cave, approaches her, and they tentatively eventually become mutuals. There was this one part I remember about the difference in a smile between species — humans smile by showing their teeth, which the alien viewed as threatening, and the aliens smiled by sticking out their tongues, which the girl didn't initially recognize as a smile.

Theres this book, that has a lot of short stories in it, and I remember reading it when i was in 5th grade. An example of one of the short stories was about this kid who wore shoes for a few months straight without taking them off to fend off bullies from killing a turtle. Another one of the short stories was about a boy who wanted to whiten his teath with whitneres, but in the end, his teath had liquified because he kept them on for too long.

I am looking for a book with a sub plot of a dad working extra hard to buy his son a coat he wanted, that all the cool kids had. Poor family, dad not one to show affection. Boy was all excited to wear it to school, Dad was quietly proud. Kids made fun of boy because jacket was a knockoff and he got in a fight over it, I think the coat was torn, he never wore it again, and dad never mentioned it.

I've been looking for a children's book that my siblings and I enjoyed around and my brother, eight years my senior also loved.. Grouchy retired sea captain, irritated by a rainbow, captures it, rolls it up and stows it in a hatch in his little home. Neighborhood boy frees the rainbow which unfurls into the sky. Beautiful and fun water color illustrations. Sea captain sees the error of his ways! I have been looking for a book I read in the nineties written by an American journalist who lived and worked as a reporter in Africa.

He wrote about his life in Africa including some funny experiences. I think he worked for The York Times. Some American paper for sure. Thanks I have been trying to find it, but difficult without title or author! Looking for a book I read in the nineties about an American Journalist living and working in Africa. Cannot remember title or author.

Some funny experiences he had in Africa. I think he worked for the New York Times? But was based in Africa. Thank you for helping me! I've been looking for an R rated book, I am an adult, about a woman with two daughters, works at a dentist office, and meets a man with a bad past. The woman is also battling for custody of her daughters with her cheating ex husband. The book is about a woman with two daughters who works at a dentist, eventually meeting a man with a bad past who moves in next door.

She's battling for custody of her daughters with her cheating ex husband. Things escalate with her and the man eventually. R rated book, I am an adult. I believe the series is titled "Class A. He has a pocket sized computer that he runs programs on written in BASIC, I believe and each book had programs you could run on your computer after typing them in. I remember in one book, The protagonist meets the president, who calls him a "Class Act", and our hero wonders if the President knows what he does on the side.

Another adventure has our hero paired up with a dog in a secret base in i believe the Alaskan wilderness. Protagonist goes through a series of emotions like fear, anxiety, etc because an alien ship has landed. Protagonist describes the ship and the creatures coming out of the ship, as having hair "all over their head" - as if that was crazy weird.

Big reveal at the end is that the protagonist is an extra-terrestrial and the aliens are humans from Earth. Really great story on perspective and looking at things egocentrically. And a kid really wants to meet a certain famous hockey player. But, the hockey player just happens to be her ex and father of her son that he knows nothing about I need help finding this book!! But, the hockey player just happens to be her ex and father of her son.. This is a book where the woman works for a company that helps kids with disabilities or illnesses. And this autistic kid really wants to meet a certain famous hockey player.

The hockey player happens to be her Ex and the father of her son. Can some on help me find this book i read it years ago its a young teen book that has a boy that has magic boots that grow with him he doesn't know where he came from all of his past he remembers about his mothers or some family member singing a line to him he starts off as a thief and meets a girl as they run him and the girl fall in love along the way he discovers that he can sing a few lines and make what he wants true but at a cost to him he will lose something as great of the value of what he wants to be done at the end of the book he trades his life for his girl companion but he comes back for he is not human so he is reborn and gets to live with his family that he thought he lost yet he found again Along the way in the middle of the book he a quires a dagger that has a string attached to his wrist that he can throw and pull back and his dagger will come back to him.

There's a fantasy book that my cousin forced me to read when I was younger and I didn't like it because it was confusing but now I want to read it it's about these people or creatures and they live in trees I think and I believe they're forced to go to war I have a memory of a scene where there in like a restaurant in one of the tree like they all live in the trees or like in the forest and they have to go to war and there's like a girl warrior there's a black group of friends and they go on and then I remember there's two brothers and they go to another dimension in one scene and when they come back one of the brothers is completely change then something happened to him like part of him died or something.

And then in the end I think that they come back after all of this and I remember like an engagement between two of the characters. I know this is very vague but I know it's a fantasy book. In this book there is a mexican girl who lives in the USa with her mother. She is made fun if at school and her only friends are two brothers they are twins. When they grow up she gets pregnant by one of the brothers, and the other one dies. She gives birth to the baby but after a while she leaves cause she can't handle everything. After a year or so she comes back and after a row of events she lives happily ever after woth the father of her child and the love of her life.

In this book a city girl quits her job to move to a farm with a man she just met. Can somebody help me find a book. It starts with a girl trying to find her twin sister in a garrage or some shady place. It is a fantasy paranormal book maybe involves farie world non mages. In this book a girl is surgically given the face of a princess in order to be her double. The mother is leading a rebellion the king kills both mom and real princess thinking that the princess is the double. Two of my favorite children's books Sgthartman you're thinking of the book called Harrison Bergeron.

How to Find That Book You've Spent Years Looking For

Can somebody help me find this book? She ends up helping the little girls father find his daughter. The woman and the father end up falling for each other. I think this is romantic suspense. I think I read it yrs ago I dont think it was that old but I'm not sure. When he gets out of prison he looks for his missing sister and finds out that she was involved with some sort of mafia or something similar.

To find and save her he has to work with the mafia people and was forced to blow up a train station. Can somebody pls help me with this?! When I was younger I read this great book that I just remembered and cant get out of my head. It was this book about these two foster girls whos "aunt" who was a hippie had suddenly died in the bathroom one day and the girls had buried her in the backyard and pretended to live on like nothing happened surviving by cleaning rent cabins until they fighr about whether to tell the authorities or not and one of them wants to run away.

Bwessels98 I remember a similar book that I struggle to remember the name of. It sounds like the story you summarized. Strong people were burdened with weights I've tried to find this book by googling small pieces of what I remember but I haven't found it yet. I'm looking for a book that I read when I was about 13 years old I'm 20 now I don't know very much about it, but it was a fiction book about a boy who lives in a government who decides everything for you.

Everyone has to take a "medicine" or some sort of vitamin when they go out the door, by laying their hand on some sort of device, then you get a little sting and it detects your blood, so you can't skip your daily vitamins. He eventually discovers that the drug is doing something to your brain and makes you forget stuff.

So he tries to fool the device with an apple where he put his blood on. He stops taking the drugs and his memory becomes clear. He has some sort of girlfriend and convinces her to stop taking the drug too. And if you go against the law by having I think it was "good memories" or something like that, you get the death penalty. I really can't remember any more, I hope someone can help me out!! It starts out with a teenaged girl who falls in love but is torn by the fact that she's is embarrassed by her family and the boy she love's lifestyle.

So once she goes off to college she disconnects from her family and her childhood love and marries a rich boyfriend. Once married the honeymoon phase was really but then he started to change first he would just raise his voice but then it get physical. When she got pregnant she thought thing had changed but was still cautious but one he was just angry hit her so hard she fell and ended up going into labour.

Thankfully both the woman and her baby girl were okay but once at home she tried her hardest to shield her daughter from her husband but sometimes it would be so sudden that there was nothing she could do, it got so bad that her daughter would be crying completely silent in fear of her father. In desperate need for safety for her daughter she devises a plan where she packed up both of their necessities before hand.

So when the husband left the mansion she would have had to pretend she's just going shopping and would dress herself and little girl to suit in order to fool the staff and the neighbors. Once out of the neighborhood she raced to father who was the leader of a gang or club of some sort for protection she drove non stop no matter how tired es she got. Only when she was inside the gates was she relieved, she got the car and walked up to her shocked father she passes out leaving her daughter silently crying in the back seat. I can't remember the rest please help.

Please help me find the name of this book. It starts out with a teenage girl who falls in love but is torn by the fact that she's is embarrassed by her family and the boy she love's lifestyle. I think it was her first day of school and she wore her hair in braids with ribbons, and she got new shoes with ribbons, and she had buttons down her jumper. She may have brought her neighbors cookies at one point in the story. Has a wife and i think a kid. He hoes out to a bar one night and is supposed to bring his wife back ice cream and gets kidnapped or something.

The kidnapper know everything about him. Brings him to a abandoned warehouse and then he wakes up in a hospital; however, he is living the what could have been life. A children's book about two sisters an inventor and washing their dresses. Book about a cancer survivor who read and watched nothing but funny movies and it helped him beat his caner. Anyone know the book about a man with cancer who stays in his home and reads and watches only funny books and movies, and ends up getting better?

It's about a girl who goes to live with her aunt and uncle, I think his name is David. He wears velvet and has golden hair. He's an alcoholic who wind up dying on a stroll through the wood in a creek. I think the main character is studying to become a doctor or maybe a nurse in a country doctor setting.

What if you cant remember the title but a Character. I recall reading this book a friend handed me in Boarding school about an Investigator he was heavy set,Balding at the top of his head loved eating dried fruit raisins that's how learnt what raisins were. The setting was Africa Egypt I think a crime perhaps murder had occurred and he was going to solve it he was great at fighting too man i miss this book but cant remember the author of title. What if you cant remember the title but I recall reading this book a friend handed me in Boarding school about an Investigator he was heavy set,Balding at the top of his head loved eating dried fruit raisins that's how learnt what raisins were.

He spared her and eventually takes her back to where his people are on the other side of the mountains. Despite her escape attempts inevitably they fall for one another but he releases her anyway. Looking for a story about a girl who got kidnapped and sold into slavery but there a crow that turns into a guy and helps her. They end up falling in love and getting married. I'm looking for a book I read maybe years ago, it was from the high school library and probably categorised as young adult fiction. It was about this deaf teenage girl who was travelling with her mum to see the grand canyon I think, and on the way they met some strange characters and the young girl kept having dreams in which she could hear. There was a boy involved who could turn into a wolf and I think in these dreams this wolf would lead her throughout a dreamscape wilderness to find something to defeat some higher power.

In the end the girl ended up having been stolen at birth by her "mother" and she finds her true parents and goes to live with them but isn't happy as she obviously has grown up with someone else as her parent. There's a dramatic standoff at the end where the "mother" threatens to kill herself in a motel? I'm looking for a book I read maybe years ago, it was from my high school library and probably categorised as young adult fiction. I think the girl defeats the higher power in the dream and stops having the dream. I really wanna find out what it was called because it was very good and shed light on the life of a deaf lip-reader.

I'm looking for a book that I read when I was a child. It was a chapter book but it had a few pictures. I believe it was a series but I only had one of them. It was either two sisters or two cousins who solved mysteries.

One if the girls had short curly hair, glasses and was kind of an ugly duckling. The other girl was I think named amy and she had long blonde hair. The other girl was always a little jealous of her. The book I had, they traveled to the woods and there was an island with mystery lights.

I'm looking for a children's picture book about a little girl who didn't want to go to sleep because she didn't want to miss anything. I think she had older siblings in the story. Later in the story, she has a really good dream and didn't want to wake up because she didn't want to miss anything in the dream.

She has long braided hair and is also a virgin. I know they can join minds at intimate times too. I'm looking for 2 books I read in prison. The groom gets all the women of the town to make her a wedging quilt from odd pieces of cloth. Anyone knows these books. I can't remember the names or author. I remember reading a book about a girl who lives in a "perfect world" where the government decides everything for you.

The whole place is surrounded by wall panels, in a globe shape. Her job is basically sitting in a chair and clicking any panel that flickers. One day she sees a panel flicker a bit outside of her designated zone, but when she checks it out something happens and she gets a warning. If you get 3 warnings, you are kicked out of the place. Her mother was kicked out of the place a long time ago. She remember that she got one strike because she was on the swings and went too high. The flickering panel scenario gives her 2 warnings in total.
