Have you ever thought if it matches up to what scripture says?
In this Nativity Object Lesson take a fun and in depth look at what scripture really says happened the night Jesus was born. The law had been given. The Old Testament was over. The Romans were in charge of the world.
Roads had been built and most people spoke a common language. The time was perfect for a baby to be born. Have the children list different fun, and not so fun, things about having a newborn baby. Explain that you have another baby picture to show as well. Only show the back of the frame. When Adam and Eve had the first baby, that baby was born into sin. Every baby born since then has a sin problem, or a sin nature.
In fact, this second baby was born to save the first baby. God put on a costume. Jesus, who is God, took off His glory and left it in heaven and put on the flesh of man. He chose to be human to fix our sin problem.
Follow the Star Poster Sticker Books. Wrap the sock doll in a piece of muslin. Use long strips of craft foam or felt to make hay. In each session you will explore: Adventures in Homeschooling used a clothespin for Baby Jesus and real straw to make this version of the craft. The people of Bethlehem knew there was something special about their town.
But the neat thing about Jesus is that His costume was real. Jesus really was human.
He experienced hunger and thirst. He went through the stages of human development. He was taught to walk, stand, and wash his face. He was completely and genuinely human. Because of Bethlehem, we no longer have marks on our record. We have the promise that God is always near us, always for us, always within us—and that we have a friend and Savior in heaven!
This Christmas Bible study includes video discussion questions, Bible exploration, and personal study and reflection materials. The Purpose of Christmas DVD Study for groups and families features three sessions taught by Rick Warren on why we celebrate Christmas and how it can change your life forever.
But doing this means doing things a little differently. Through this engaging, four-session DVD you can substitute compassion for consumption by practicing four simple but powerful, countercultural concepts:. Mary did her chores, was kind to others, and loved God very much. She was engaged to be married to Joseph, who was a carpenter.
One day, while Mary was at home cleaning her room, an angel suddenly appeared. Before Mary could say anything the angel told Mary that she was favored by God, and that God was with her. She was trying not to be afraid, but she had never seen an angel before. After all, Mary was just a regular lady like you or I.
Why was this angel visiting her? What did the angel want?
Editorial Reviews. From the Author. Bible study is something I find both interesting and healing. Traveling to Bethlehem is a children's Bible storybook that marvelously be used for home reading, Bible study, Christmas gifts, or even for a Christmas play!.
The angel quickly tried to reassure Mary. You will have a baby boy, and are to give him the name Jesus. The angel thought that this might concern Mary so he said, "The Holy Spirit will perform a miracle, and because of this your baby will be called the Son of God. To Mary's surprise, the angel had more exciting news: Many thought that she couldn't have children, but she is already pregnant. Nothing is impossible with God.
