I bought on Tuesday August 28th, a ticket for a full day tour on Thursday 30th, after first unsuccessfully having tried to book via their web site. The tourist office warned me that the company needed one more passenger to reach the minimum of four to go on with the trip. On Wednesday late afternoon the tourist office sent an sms, informing that the tour was off due to oly three passengers.
I for my part would have been willing to pay for two in order to have this trip. We booked on Karl's mystery tour, what a great day. Karl is knowledgeable and loads of fun. He listens to his passengers and customizes the experience to ensure that everyone is satisfied. He's raised the bar against which we'll judge any future experiences - Thank you Karl, we hope to see you again one day Hearn Family. This was an excellent tour! Fisher was a fantastic guide - great stories and very knowledgeable about the area and history.
Comfortable bus, plenty of time at each castle, and an enjoyable journey between each destination. Even a bonus stop for local strawberries that were delicious.

We started the day at Dunnotar Castle ruins. Very impressive and a beautiful setting. Next to Crathes Castle - a charming castle with exceptional gardens. We had lunch in the cafe mac n cheese was excellent and there were a number of options - soup, sandwiches, etc. Next off to Drum Castle. We could not go inside but had time to roam the grounds, including the chapel and even the pet semetary. Lastly we made a stop to one of the stone circles. I don't know that this last stop is routine as it isn't mentioned in any of the tour literature.

The scenery while driving between locations was quite picturesque - lots of sheep and scottish coos. However, I think one of the most impressive aspects of this tour was Karl himself.
