It is best to visit Intramuros early in the morning or in late afternoon to avoid the scorching sun and the big number of tourists visiting the place. Be sure to check on-line and beforehand the opening schedule of the places you intend to visit. We explored Intramuros on the Bambike tour, which we highly recommend. It means you don't really notice the traffic and avoid the worst areas because you get from attraction to attraction fairly quickly. That church is historic, and has a great museum inside. Both are worth seeing. Two of the best restaurants in downtown Manila are in this area in the Bayleaf hotel. There is a great view from the roof terrace as well for photos.
A Wondrous Place – review
Take a walk on the wall for some other nice photo ops and views. Walking around the area also gives you an idea of a Philippine barrio. There are many street people that live with in the wall. That said, I never felt unsafe. There are some very cool shops as well that sell some of the most beautiful homemade wooden objects I saw on my trip. Own or manage this property?
