The dead man had been a jeweler with a case loaded with raw diamonds. Googling the address, he went there and met Carrie, a young woman that actually lit up with a glow when he touched her. She called them both freaks. And there was Wilson and his invisible dog. Old enemies rear up as he keeps running across more freaks and these "bounty hunters'" uncommon interest in him. Dark doesn't seem to be around this time, just an all too human evil. May 17, Jayme rated it it was amazing.
Another great chapter of the dead man saga. Freaks must die is one of the most fun of the Dead Man books. In this "episode" we find Matt in PA unwittingly botching a kidnap ransom exchange. He travels to New York to try and set things right. That is where the freaks come in. Without giving a lot away I really enjoyed the freaks and hope they show up in upcoming chapters.

There is no corny dialogue that is in some of the others. The dialogue actually adds to the story and more importantly seems to be written for each character differently something not all of the books have had. Great book, great chapter.

Another entertaining installment of the Dead Man series with hero Matt Cahill venturing out of his usual rural setting into the big, bad city of NY where he encounters other "freaks" with abilities that rival his. Matt Cahill continues to try to find the dark man, with this featuring another return of a character from a prior novella They go by fast, and could be drawn out more at times, but they are what they are.
