A superb and very down to earth account of a private soldier who joined the Commandos in late , and participated in all the subsequent actions of No. Scott also dwells on life outside the Commandos, including his partially successful but ultimately frustrated attempt to join the Army despite being well under the legal age, and his brief post-war service with the Military Police before demobilisation.
