I bought a used copy so I am not sure if it is the remaster or original. Whatever version it is, this album is amazing. I have followed Ozzy for a long time and can't understand why it took me so long to get this album. I will obviously have to pick up the 2 Rhoads albums soon. As for this one, it is solid from start to finish.
I think there is not a fan that doesn't know the seminal title track, but You're No Different, Rock 'n' Rebel and Waiting for Darkness are very solid as well. The album does have some synthesizer, or some effect similar to it, but this was part of many different 80's bands and fits here.
I really can't understand why Jake E. Lee wasn't kept around. This and The Ultimate Sin both rock. Yes Zack is good as well, but Lee sure had some very good chops on these two records. However, this new version is NOT the same album that I've been listening to for 35 years.
Ozzy as wolf man climbing a tree on the front sleeve and backlit wolf man Ozzy pining not barking at the distant moon on the back. Yieldbot 3rd party advertising partner running ads across our network of sites http: Some European pressings identified the track "Centre of Eternity" as "Forever". If you delete your cookies, you may also delete your opt-out preferences. He seems to enjoy showing off his talent, which I personally don't mind, as I like a good guitarist. The production is pretty great depending on which edition you have. I also cannot go on enough about how important Daisley is to a song like 'Spiders', remaining not only audible but actually influential at all moments of the experience.
This surprised the hell out of me as I'd never heard about this record being tampered with- only Blizzard Of Ozz and Diary Of A Madman I had assumed had this molestation inflicted upon them. So now the track "Bark At The Moon" has the synths reduced to almost zero and even some guitar is lessened in the mix so now the song is dry and sterile, even the vocals sound remixed. PLUS- the tempo is a hair slower!! There are extra bars of guitar and some extra licks but the song is very much changed. This is so sad and I pretty much know who is behind it NOW It gets even worse OR maybe they used a demo version?
They didn't even TRY to match the bells and the monk-like harmonies. The mix is all wrong. One of my favorite albums and it is a classic you gotta love it. If you do not know this is the first album Ozzy did without Randy Rhodes cuz he died. The album has some of my favorite songs that are classics.
There all great songs so check it out. This is classic Ozzy and of you don't know by now check it out,it will not disappoint you. A classic album with killer vocals, great guitar work and heavy beating drums chunky bass. MP3 Music Verified Purchase.
The first Ozzy album with Jake E. Lee on lead guitar. I don't feel like Jake ever got his proper due- he shreds on this album. Songwriting wasn't the best but not horrible either and I feel like it has too many keyboards at times. I always felt like the production wasn't top notch either but it is a very good album. Title track, Waiting for Darkness are great tunes. Not Ozzy's strongest effort but it's a good one. Bark at the Moon was the first studio album that Ozzy released following the death of the great Rhandy Roads.
The title track Bark at the Moon is a classic with a great riff. The keyboards have quite a presence on some of the songs, which isn't to bad. The whole album is great, one of my favorite Ozzy albums.
One person found this helpful. Great to replace my old ones, not up to it all with the USB and other computer stuff, but you get the inside of case.
