The book itself contained a lot of fluff, mainly in the form of Brinkley mugging for the camera in an array of outfits. Nothing in the nutrition or exercise sections was really new to me. Also as a snarky asi This book was written mainly to promote Brinkley's new skincare line. Also as a snarky aside , after watching those recent couple of talk show clips, I find it hard to believe that Brinkley hasn't re-indulged in Botox. That is, of course, not a crime believe me, I know , but in the book she writes about how she doesn't approve of its effects on her face.

Clearly, she has changed her mind. Dec 05, Cuykendall rated it liked it. Plenty of common sense advice eat right and exercise, ladies! Page after page of beautiful pictures of CB, but give me a break Not even she looks this good at I wish she had been more honest about it. Dec 19, Jane rated it did not like it. This book is a total waste of your money. Not surprising as it is written by a woman who will do anything to make women buy her skin care line, her wigs, her exercise products.

This book makes it seem like she is obsessed with herself and how she looks. Which she probably is, judging by her social media accounts. Of course, there is no way her 'tips and tricks' will make you look like her. If you don't have her millions, her personal trainers, her make-up team, the people who airbrush all of her This book is a total waste of your money.

If you don't have her millions, her personal trainers, her make-up team, the people who airbrush all of her photos and so on, you will never look like her. And you know what: Because where most of us are happy and hardworking women without obsessing over our looks, her looks are all she has. All that 'smiling' all day long sure didn't help her with her marriages, she failed 4 times already and is currently dating a man who has been divorced 3 times and smokes 3 packs per day!

Don't buy this book, spend the money on a meaningful gift for someone who needs it.

It will make you feel better than looking at a bunch of airbrushed photos of a woman whom you will never look like. Don't buy her fake hair extension, you look fine the way you do! And don't waste your money on her skin care products, there are much cheaper brands with better results.

I thought this book contained a nice collection of advice from someone who has a lot to share. While she does promote her own products, as others have stated, I don't think her personal regime is written in stone, and like most advice in life, take what works for you, and ad Christie Brinkley appears to be the epitome of beauty, health and happiness at the age of While she does promote her own products, as others have stated, I don't think her personal regime is written in stone, and like most advice in life, take what works for you, and add what works for you.

Nothing is ever written in stone. I give this book a solid five stars, and it is not only because I was fortunate enough to receive a copy as a Goodreads winner. It's also because I appreciate the opportunity to receive some beauty advice from a woman who through good times and bad, has always put her best face forward. Jul 20, Alexa rated it it was amazing. For me, it's strength lies in great tips for vegetarians and naturalists who need a simple navigation to organic food and it's properties.

Vacuumed in by her enthusiasm, I purchased her cleansing kit. The store typically is sold out of the "one item "- exfoliator- so you end up purchasing the whole kit with a smile from the sales lady that it's " A great deal for the pric For me, it's strength lies in great tips for vegetarians and naturalists who need a simple navigation to organic food and it's properties. It is the most popular line in the store. Especially since it,'s organic". To end my saga and being sold for rhetoric rather than a solution to the fountain of youth she has stocks and shares along with modeling, she must know something I don't.

However, I still can't get around her strong brainstorm and emphasis that " daily light sloughing - like a man who shaves everyday by shaving and thus do not have acne , promulgated Ms. Brinkley to work years in developing a light abrasive scrub along with an inexpensive cleaner and moisturizer. It claims to have no scent. It does and the more natural, the less pretty it smelled to me. I hated the smell. It smelled like really cheap lotion with a touch of something I cannot name but it wasn't feminine. Typically, I believe hormones are usually the cause of severe acne and stress.

Or genes, underlying illness. Shake of my head. A long story short, I received a lovely and quite embarrassing break out along with such self consciousness I haven't felt since high school when I exchanged the product. Fastest transaction after she saw my break out. Yes, it was that obvious. The only advice I truly took home and garnered from her book was how to use make up with the same products she uses. To find a real blonde for make up for " true blondes" was a sigh of relief.

Typically, everyone is usually dark haired and my battle in the beauty jungle is finding that right color. She does provide a long product list that is dummy proof from food, vitamins and hair products to weed through. Even teeth products- she uses. However, I sense the real stuff she uses -since she isn't stupid -is hidden in her drawers and this book is used -like most beauty books- for observing and motivating you to find your niche.

It may also serve to be a push to celebrate the "new 60 " in this day and age. Also, her veganism stems not from a choice lifestyle, but from a detailed book she read a long time ago from her "parents shelf" that totally grossed her out for life, and yet she credits her extended beauty and health to not eating the chemicals that preserve meat. Aside from my perspective and perhaps persnickety side of my view on modeling, it is a definitely worth checking out at the library or in the book store especially with the detailed angle on determining how to nutritate for life and aging- especially if you are a hard vegan.

The make-up advice is slim and definitely in all honesty tailored made for blondes, since it is presented from question's posed by her by fans and she dutifully answers them using herself as to what she does personally. Each actually existent thing is perfectly unique, as a mathematical entity. Newton, first to combine the Heavens and the Earth with a truly universal generalization, saw a clockwork universe of moving billiard balls and their world-lines, governed by perfect exceptionless laws. Newton was the first to look upon a greater beauty than any mere religion had ever dreamed. But the beauty of classical physics doesn't begin to compare to the beauty of timeless quantum physics.

Timeful quantum physics is pretty, but it's not all that much pretti er than classical physics. In timeful physics the "same configuration" can still have different values at different times, its own little world-line, like a lamp switching from OFF to ON.

Timeless Beauty

There's that ugly t complicating the equations. You can see the beauty of timeless quantum physics by noticing how much easier it is to mess up the perfection, if you try to tamper with Platonia. Consider the collapse interpretation of quantum mechanics. To people raised on timeful quantum physics, "the collapse of the wavefunction" sounds like it might be a plausible physical mechanism. If you step back and look upon the timeless mist over the entire configuration space, all dynamics manifest in its perfectly local relations, then the "pruning" process of collapse suddenly shows up as a hugely ugly discontinuity in the timeless object.

Instead of a continuous mist, we have something that looks like a maimed tree with branches hacked off and sap-bleeding stumps left behind.

Tomorrow if I can shake today's cold I'll talk about one of my points of departure from Barbour: Looking younger, I totally agree with it, looking thirty years younger, not really natural. Newton, first to combine the Heavens and the Earth with a truly universal generalization, saw a clockwork universe of moving billiard balls and their world-lines, governed by perfect exceptionless laws. Dec 05, Cuykendall rated it liked it. Comments 62 Leave your comment!

The perfect locality is ruined, because whole branches are hacked off in one operation. Likewise, collapse destroys the perfect global uniformity of the laws that relate each configuration to its neighborhood; sometimes we have the usual relation of amplitude flow, and then sometimes we have the collapsing-relation instead.

This is the power of beauty: The more beautiful something is, the more obvious it becomes when you mess it up. I was surprised that many of yesterday's commenters seemed to think that Barbour's timeless physics was nothing new, relative to the older idea of a Block Universe. Nonetheless, I did not really get timelessness until I read Barbour.
