Overall, I must say that UMBC was great to me, and as an international student from Nigeria, UMBC was more that I could have asked for from an institution for higher learning — it was a place where young boys and girls were turned into young men and women respectively. And what are your goals for after med school? My overall goal and plan in medicine is to use my skills and knowledge to make the world a better place for generations to come.

As if that weren't impressive enough he has also penned his first major novel which appears here as BOUNTIFUL FAMINE - a story based on true historical facts in Africa but woven into a tale about family, about coming of age, and about how influences engaged in walking from childhood toward manhood affect the moral stamina of a prototypical lad in the throes of African wars. Aranmolate opens his book with a harrowing introduction of a lad bound and bloody in a closed wooden box and once he has our attention and compassion he begins his story by retracing the steps to this incident.

Basically the story is that of young Nadus and his closely knit family: Their mother Etiovl'detoc died in childbirth and their father is left to care of his little family as best he can. Famine and drought plague the land but the little family survives. The boys explore the animals and wilds of their homeland and eventually visit a big city where during their fascination with all that is beyond their grasp financially, the city becomes under siege by rebels.
