And what a fascinating read this novel turned out! Written smoothly, in a delightfully flowing manner, the story progressed in just the right pace to keep my interested piqued without being overwhelming with too many happenings all at once.

Written in a frighteningly realistic manner, the story kept getting more and more complicated, gaining momentum, heading for a disaster, like a train wreck, not about to stop but on the contrary - accumulating speed.
It was impossible to stop reading! Robert Oliver, Joe, little Mary, they had me all cheering or cringing or fearing for them, worrying about their fate, afraid that they all might have no hope at all in the England of CLIPS and corrupted authorities, the country fragmented into too many individual 'city-states' of various ethnicities, each governed by their own law, as far from each other as their original countries but somehow getting along, in a sort of a grotesque manner.
What a picture "England " presented, painted so realistically, with such masterly skill! I recommend this novel to everyone who is after a good read.
