She was sure of it. How did she know him? Wait…did she know him, really? His immense shoulders tensed, bracing for action. His palms shoved outward at nothing, as if he pushed against an invisible barrier, leaned into it with everything he had, and was inexplicably held back. Dangerous Dreams was the later.

That I love writing. Coming up with the idea for a book is different every time. A shifter haunted by a tragic past mistake. A heroine with a gift for finding gold in a freezing stream. What if you could physically be in two places at once? A lot of times an image pops into my head. When I first started writing, the hardest thing was getting the words on paper.

I would freeze up in fear of writing a bad sentence. These days I know there are going to be bad sentences, bad paragraphs, bad stories. You just have to tell yourself to shelve the fear, spit out the work, and fix the duds in editing. Among the dead writers: Then I caught myself. It was my book. To say I was tired about then, is an understatement. My worst nightmare is a job where you have to get up at 5 am to go to work.

To be free to soar above mountains, skim just above a raging river or perch in the highest branch of a giant redwood without fear would be incredible. Using a laptop in a freshly made bed with a fluffy comforter and tons of pillows. A steaming mug of white tea on the bedside table. I used to need to listen to music when I wrote. Now I just focus on the characters and tune it all out. If there was a style of music I most connect to, it would be Irish dirges.

A dramatic shoreline where the wind blows the waves into a froth and I can collect driftwood and sea pebbles. Half a cowboy burger from yesterday.

In that moment Jack appears in her room; he is a finder, a dream runner who finds lost one dream runners that doesn't know they have that ability.

When he looked into her eyes he has an instant connection with her, she is Jack's mate.

Aileen Harkwood created an interesting world, I like the idea of people with special abilities, a Lara is being kidnap because of her special abilities, she is a dream runner but she doesn't know it. What I didn't like was that every time Lara was in her dream form and Jack was with her, he let his desire rule over his mind. He know her physical body is in danger. But this is fiction and is romance, so there has to be some intimacy between them I would have liked to read about Lara using her abilities to save someone.

I wish it had more detail and that the characters were better developed, but that's a lot to expect from such a short and cheap story. So much potential and the author has a great style, not sugar coating the drama.
