There was also repetition in her own personal story about finding her true path into being a psychic after doing a television show another plug. She hinted at other elements to her personal story and events that happened to her at the age of 19, but it was clear she was not comfortable talking about these, even though they would have added to the personal development she was encouraging the reader to undertake, and given it more depth.
I also felt that at the beginning, when Colette defined her spiritual world, she described it in a way that it was a fact and the same for everyone, whereas I was not convinced about that; it can be very individual, and spirit manifests in different ways for different people. Readers could worry if they don't experience things the way Colette does. She had a lot of her own terminology for that, which thankfully, she did provide a legend for, but I felt it made it more complicated and chaotic - although I liked the term 'small self' for the ego.
I felt the entire book could have been structured better. And Colette also provided some excellent exercises for the reader to do, to learn about themselves and find their own way to a calm state of mind and allow themselves to listen more closely to their soul.
I will definitely use and reference this book in the future for the exercises and even Traveller's Notes. But I would be careful who I recommended it to. Feb 06, Sarah rated it it was amazing. This potentially life-changing book is deep and insightful but written in an accessible way, with warmth and humour.

The group includes a few thousand others who are also working through Uncharted - plus further resources such as printable pages and meditations from Colette Baron-Reid, which accompany the text. The 'get on your bird' meditation is much more powerful when you can listen to it, than reading it yourself. Before I read this book, I was interested in personal growth but without the things I considered "too woo".
I didn't know who the author was, or that she was a TV-psychic as well as a counsellor honestly, that might have even put me off. Since reading the book I opened my eyes and mind, in many ways - "We are spiritual beings constrained by our human experience, defined at this time in history by a distorted lens of perception and perspective, in a state of spiritual amnesia and asleep at the wheel of life". I know this to be true, but the book has really helped me to understand what it means, and the importance of 'waking up' and being authentic.
It seems more relevant now than ever. Uncharted follows on from the author's previous book 'The Map', and although they each stand alone, I went back and bought The Map too - that added further depth to my understanding, but it would be perfectly possible to read Uncharted, and to greatly benefit from it, without knowing the author's other work. Both are books that can be picked up and dabbled in, long after reading from cover to cover. I read a review copy this book via NetGalley. I have since gone on to purchase various other works from the same author. Have for a while. She has an uplifting and delightful voice and personality.

Step back and ask yourself: What is this experience trying to show me? Jun 01, Bikabran rated it really liked it. I had to leave it and come back later. It is a very interesting book and it helped me having the Uncharted Facebook group to connect with. There is a lot of information to be processed and absorbed.
