I'm so excited and I can't hardly wait to read the next book in the series! It's obvious to me that she has a truly fantastic amount of talent and after you read this story, I think you will agree! If you love paranormal romance, go and get your copy. Without reservations, I recommend this book.
If you love a shifter romance with a lovable protective wolf shifter then this is certainly a awesome book for your library. If you believe in love in the world of paranormal romance, then possibilities are endless, but always fascinating! Amazing story it was different than other werewolves I've read. Very easy and quick read. My love of shifter stories is known far and wide. So, I really wanted to like this book.
Unfortunately, the story didn't work for me. Novellas are difficult to write because of limited word counts, and The Perfect Mate could have used a bit more plot I liked the idea that Susan was a 30'ish wolf on the run. Interesting question that made me want to read on. We find out why she initially runs, but the rest of the behavior makes no sense. No other pack lets her stay because s My love of shifter stories is known far and wide. No other pack lets her stay because she won't tell anyone why she left her old pack.
So she drifts from town to town for a year. Then she finally believes she's found a pack master that will believe her and tells him everything. After running for a year and speaking with countless other pack masters, there had to be at least one other pack master that would have believed her tragic circumstances and helped. Would have made more sense if she'd gone directly to the one pack master that had a reputation for integrity and moved the plot forward from there.
I liked that Susan had spunk. Unfortunately, some of the dialogue and behavior was immature and reminded me more of a college student living in a dorm. As for her internal conflict, well, it's believable My biggest pet peeves are in the editing department: Occasional mistakes will happen, but the number of editing issues are numerous For me, this story was sadly disappointing.
Dec 20, Teri rated it really liked it. I have never made a secret of not being a fan of novella's or short stories, I think it cheats the author of the ability to provide a complete story. That being said I enjoyed this story even though the nosy rosy in me wants more background the story flowed well and while we got all we needed to understand why Susan was on the run and from who and what happened it is never enough when it is a good story.
Also I would have loved to read more paranormal stuff since they were shifters.
But to be ho I have never made a secret of not being a fan of novella's or short stories, I think it cheats the author of the ability to provide a complete story. But to be honest I loved Paul and that he didn't want to change Susan, and how patient and determined he was for her to understand that. All in all I enjoyed it and the supporting characters enough to want more.
As usual this author does not disappoint with the passion and story giving us enough action to keep us engaged in the outcome. I enjoyed it as all the laughing out loud and deep sighs proved. Susan stops in Savannah, Georgia after spending a year on the run from a man who took over her home pack. Her focus is on freedom and safety not finding a mate but there is just something about Paul that draws her to him.
Can she ever become what she thinks he wants and can her home pack be free of a tyrant? I lovely story that shows the differences and nuances of a mate bond and how it can be misunderstood.
Enduring Kiss (Enduring Kiss, #1), The Perfect Mate (Enduring Kiss, #2), Second Chance (Enduring Kiss #3), Embraced (Enduring Kiss, #4), and Enduring K. Plenty of action and drama in places which makes you want the to succeed and have some pe Susan stops in Savannah, Georgia after spending a year on the run from a man who took over her home pack. Well written and very enjoyable. Dec 13, Diana Page rated it really liked it. Great wolf shifter story with lots of heat, action, vengence and love. Susan gas been out n the run from a depraved pack master and runs into her destined mate Paul while checking in with the local pack.
He wants her to stay, mate and have little wolves, she's afraid to trust her safety to anyone but herself, muchless mate and become " the perfect housewolf". Read this if you like shifter stories with sassy female leads and alpha males with BDSM slight tendencies. I love this author.
So far I have not been disappointed. I feel like whenever I need a good pick me up romantic read, I can turn to her books. This one though had some elements I did not expect. Yes, I need a man like Paul! She is going to this compound and meets Paul and right off the bat, she and Paul have this instant hot reaction to each other. That first scene with them is fantastic and a great set up for the whole book. Dec 08, Kristin Dutt rated it really liked it. Still worth it for the price.
As the 1st one it's a novella. Could have used more character development and editing but overall it did work just didn't enjoy as much as the 1st. More paranormal would've been a big bonus as well. Dec 07, Jan Janus rated it it was amazing Shelves: What an awesome read. Susan isn't ready for a mate, and then she finds one and boy does the passion radiate, bit at what cost?
You really need to read to find out because I don't read and spoil. A quick read on werewolves mating. I found it a little samey though, perfectly written and great characters it just didn't stand out compared to some I have read. I think it would have been very good as a longer story with more details and twists.
And then the fun really begins. This story has sorrow, angst, anger but also hot sex, love and a fulfilling ending. Denying one's true nature lead to more problems. This may be book four of a series but it's a self-contained story. I didn't read the first three books and thoroughly enjoyed this story and book. It is well written and very entertaining story to read. Later she finds out she's pregnant, but that could only happen if they were mates.
So much more happen in this riveting story that keeps you on edge at times. I highly recommend this book. Black I absolutely love reading paranormal romance. This is the first in the series I have read it makes me want to read the other books in this series. The storyline is fantastic and is scorching hot. The characters are strong and realistic and the dialogue is awesome, funny, a little sad but engaging and I very much enjoyed reading it.
I am excited to read more from this author. This is a Must Read! Dec 10, Kristin Dutt rated it it was amazing. It's a toss up between Enduring Kiss and Embraced that were my favorite in the series. You can easily read this series as stand alones. As always this is a quick read but the story draws you in and you can finish in one night. The mixture of wolf and vampire is a nice storyline. Lots of action and steam. Highly recommend this whole series as a whole since the characters do interact in each one. Fun read with typos I call them typos, except that all those extra apostrophes aren't really slips of the finger.
My love of shifter stories is known far and wide. So, I really wanted to like this book. This time around, the play starts with me, then the next guy comes running in and we do the next part as a duet, then the piece about going to the gym is four guys, then the vigil sequence is six people, and so on. I think a group show will work well. After the play opened, he invited me to his birthday. Laura rated it it was amazing Sep 17,
There are other errors, too, such as a missing "ed" on a noun used as an adjective, your when you're is appropriate, etc. That said, the story moves quickly and makes for a couple of hours of light entertainment. Jan 07, Jan Janus rated it it was amazing Shelves: What a great ending to the series, or is it? Sean meets his mate but she's human, how can that be? Is it going to be a happily ever after, or will Sean be a lonely werewolf like his Uncle before him? You really need to read this series, it is captivating and exciting to explore all of the characters. Look forward to more writings by C.
