Non quelli di Emilio Salgari, che mi sembravano troppo maschilisti. Niente di tutto questo in Verne: La dolce giovane che viene prima descritta quasi come un'amazzone, fiera e combattiva, ma che poi sviene nelle situazioni peggiori.

It had basically the same plot as the previous one: Oh my goodness, does the author have ANY creativity at all? No other imagination than this? I really wanted to like Emilio Salgari. But this staple, unimaginitive plot of his drove me insane with boredom. I was so happy to be done with it! He doesn't write bad, and it is possible to enjoy his books, I guess, but only for an audience of pre-teen boys, really. I never really did fit the "boys" category, am no longer a pre-teen, and I just have a completely different taste in books. The TV series was great, I still like watching them, but I will very likely not read another Sandokan book again.

Sono cresciuto immaginandomelo come un temibile pirata e chi mi trovo davanti? Poco autorevole, per niente leale fa sacrificare i propri uomini con la stessa disinvoltura con cui cambia gli spicci al mercato del pesce.

Ma non poteva essere Yanez il capo? E' tutto girato su due luoghi e basta. Capisco che per l'epoca deve essere stata una rivoluzione scrivere questo libro in Italia e tanto di cappello per aver creato questo mondo stando sempre sulla poltrona di casa, ma non fa proprio per me. Great story and engaging adventures,lovable characters lovable to the point where I had a huge crush on Yanez back in high school when I read the book for thefirst time but Salgari's style is lacking to the point where the awkward choice of words and limping sentences are distracting the reader from the story.
