In this romantic comedy, faded movie actress Laurine Lynne decides to take a trip to Europe rather than continue to be depressed by her lack of career momentum in Hollywood. Dick Purcell is an American taxi driver who wants to become a singer promoting cheese products. Oddly he thinks the way to do it is to become a gondolier from Venice. Along the way he sings and woos a sassy secretary Alice. Two 19th-century sailors jump ship only to discover their tropical paradise is a cannibal stronghold. Sailor Aber Bedford falls for island beauty "Fayaway".
Mean whaler captain Vangs tells the men they have only ONE hour ashore. There's a cheesy fight scene on the beach, when two of the sailors decide to stay on the island, but that's the beginning of the trouble. One of them has an infection from a knife wound, and they have stumbled into the cannibal part of the island. Don Dubbins is "Tom", the wing man. I think part of the charm of this film is that not many people were traveling in the s and s, so seeing a film about "south sea adventures" was extra fun. The story itself is okay. But why would sailors WANT to stay in the village where they could be killed by the natives?

The staff were very lovely and so nice! The staff made the stay even more enjoyable! Nice and attentive stuff and resort manager. They all make sure that we are happy. It is the perfect place to rest and enjoy life for a couple of days without doing much activity except relaxing. We wish to go back there and I can advise anyone to go there if you are thinking if you need to do it or not.
We enjoyed every bit of it. The view from the room was amazing and we had our breakfast in the Villa next to the pool, that was a such special experience.
The staff in the hotel were so friendly and helpful. A special thanks to Sanjit, he would always stop by our table and asked for our day and chat with us a bit. Buywan in the restaurant was also super friendly and attentive. The surrounding of the island is amazing too! All in all, we wish that we can come back one day! Mostly everything was perfect. The grill menu on Friday was not that good with respect to the other foods we had in there. I will advise to go for the al a carte menu on grill day. Also, do not forget that it will take some effort to go to the main island. It was a plus for us but important to keep in mind.
Amazing location, rooms and view all around the island. If i have to name something, probably the food was a bit slow in the restaurant, you have to be patient. But we were never in a hurry, so it didn't bother us much. The villa we had was beautiful! Absolutely sensational - fantastic staff and restaurant. Excellent location surrounded by stunning beaches.
Could do with a little more fumigation, lizards are a little annoying. Would like to see a better quality of food. Privacy and very discreet, a small price of heaven on earth. It was simply perfect and I am already planning to come back. I can't recall any thing negative, but as they do not originally organize excursions to other islands then its better to book it yourself with a travel agency in Mahe. Quiet place, beautiful architecture and atmosphere, "almost" private access to a lagoon beach villa Vakwa , perfect food and staff.
The stay price is very reasonable. TOP location, great staff, good food, very nice tiny island great for an escape super. Location, friendly staff, privacy, exclusivity. This must be one of the most private and luxurious locations in the world - just 10 individual villas on its own island minutes from Mahe Island.
Everything is done to a high standard, it is immediately relaxing There is only one restaurant but the food is excellent, and of course easy to choose a wonderful table. The villas are set some steps from the beach, with truly beautiful outside bathrooms so one can shower or bath with the most incredible views and the breeze in the trees.
The staff go out of their way to make sure high expectations are met, and overall this is a truly exceptional place simply to chill. Overpriced Charges for airport transfer exorbitant.
