My Testimony, His Glory!

It is simple yet hard. You see, God is not going to share His glory and the credit due to His name with someone else. So you can have a testimony that is unique, but if you do not go through this process, it will not be powerful.

It seems that if I focus on me that the effectiveness of what I am saying ceases. I have to remember that it is all about Him. Notice in the first verse that Isaiah saw the Lord high and lifted up on His throne. You must see for yourself the supremacy and sovereignty of God in your life and that He is the one that is ultimately in charge. That may include some of the hard things you have gone through in life. I never wanted to be single at age I never wanted to have a failed marriage. I never wanted to struggle with depression after a divorce.

Today, I see the Lord high and lifted up over all of these situations.

He has used them to enable me to speak directly into the hearts of people that think that God will never accept them because of their struggles and failures. That means that you are no longer self-sufficient. You are no longer the one in control. You realize that only by the grace of God can you walk forward from this time forward. When you are walking in His sufficiency and not your own, then your Christian testimony becomes something that is not only able to touch other people, but it becomes a sweet-smelling sacrifice in the presence of God.

The very thing that he saw that was defiled before God became the thing that was purified by God. In yours or my case, it could be something else.

Whatever it is, it must be something that God has changed in your life. That is why many times we go through hard times.

God wants us to experience something so that He can show Himself big enough to change a tragedy into a triumph, to replace a victim into a victorious person, to replace a test into a testimony, to shift a mess into a message. Some of the most powerful messages I have ever shared have not been lofty theological treatises on esoteric subjects. They have been when I have gotten real and personal with people about how God has taken my life and turned it around.

That is the real power of the gospel. It is not in learning how to preach.

It is when an average and human person shares how an extraordinary God cares enough to change a mere human like ourselves. It also removes all excuses from anyone that can speak, serve, love, and otherwise share what it is God has done for them. I am not the most eloquent speaker, and I never will be.

But I can share what God has done in my life. We have a lady in our church that communicates every month with the hurting families in our community by running our food bank and giving freely to them in their need with no strings attached.
