Sparks build between these two and pretty soon Em is opening up to her a little, and then she spreads her legs and they have a very good time.
Em gets a background, a job, real thoughts, and real lines. Cat eventually gets a job though we learn almost nothing about it and no background. So, I found her rather vapid. The New Girl Andrei is the biggest, most heavily muscled of the three brothers. So it is very rare for anyone to ignore him, especially straight women. But there is this red-headed barkeep Cassandra at 5tM that is doing just that and it is extremely aggravating to Drei.
I think this is good for him, pushing him to grow his interpersonal skills. So the boys and Cat end up in the back alley again, and once again silly vampires show up and attack. Grigore is injured and needs tending to pronto and, luckily, Cassandra knows just what to do. Turns out Cassandra has a special gift and she is whisked away to Alpha Pack headquarters. Drei offers to keep her entertained…. More bedroom gymnastics ensue and it is super hot! Cassandra has more personality and backstory than Cat, so I was intrigued by both Drei and Cassandra in this story.
It made their mating more intimate. A Special Taste Grigore is starting to feel like the fifth wheel at the party — both his brothers have Mates and are into public displays of affection. Grig is wallowing in his single, unattached stud status one night, drinking way too much. He ends up in the alley behind 5tM and is ambushed by several vampires.
Lucky for him, a dark-haired warrior swoops in and rescues him. They have to hide for a bit in a dark sewer where they over hear some nefarious plans by the vampires and make out a little. Once safe, Kall introduces herself and lists her demands. She has an idea of why the vampires keep returning to 5tM and how to stop them for good. But she is also a highly capable warrior…. She is whisked off to Alpha Pack headquarters where she tells her story and lays out what she knows. The warriors must rest before they act, so Kall and Grig end up sharing a room with bunk beds.
However, instead of sleeping, earth-shattering sex occurs instead. This was my favorite of the three and I think it is because Kall had the most back story of the three ladies. Oh, and she is a badass warrior too. Also, the sex scenes were more aggressive as Kall likes telling her man exactly what she wants. Meghan Kelly did a great job with the voices. Each of the brothers had a distinct voice but all sounded related.
She had distinct voices for all the ladies. She even had hissy vampires voices when needed. Mostly, she pulled off all the sex scenes quite well with no hesitations. The parties involved all sounded like they were having a very good time. Feb 08, April rated it really liked it Shelves: Not a lot of story here but what there is was well developed. Cat is sassy and fun, while Em is deliciously Alpha!! Oh yeah, expect the smexy!! It hits hot and heavy! Delicious bit of steam makes a gal feel all warm and fuzzy. Things happen quick, but it is a short read. I can also buy into the whole mate lust link.
It happens often in shifter books. This is like the beginning of a great story, I would love to see it expanded. There is so much possible with these characters. We get a little more of the overall story and another brother mated. Drei is the leader of the group and a delicious bad boy! Pair him up with Cassandra who is sassy and independent, instant fireworks!! The steam here is a step beyond normal, when your gal can read you thoughts things get hotter!! It is another nibble of a read. Short story that carries on the plot of the first book.
Quick and to the point, I wish it were longer. Can't wait to read the last brother's HEA. Uber-hot steamy action is serve up in the smexy scene!! I am talking some serious foreplay and wicked sex! A girl just can't get enough of that kind of reading! The story finally comes to it's conclusion in this last short story. It was a really interesting mini-series and I would have loved it to be longer. Terrific concept that has great potential for more. I listened to this book on audio and found narrator Meghan Kelly delightful. She does a very nice job with all the voices, she keeps them distinct and consistent.
The men had a nice deep timber and the women had a smooth sassy quality. It was a nice steady read, evenly paced. I like things a touch faster so I switched to double speed. This is a really interesting little series of short stories. I would love to see them expanded and made into at least novellas.
The character and world building is really well done for the short time frame. Definitely had me wishing they were all longer. Each book is sold solo or in the collection. I highly recommend getting the collection as individually they are quite pricey. While they are well written and engaging, the price is a little steep it you buy each book separately.
Get the collection for a fair prince and enjoy them all at once. Jan 02, Shelley rated it it was ok Shelves: All three books are short stories, but even short stories should have a storyline. The first book is wolf meets human, run away from vamps have sex the end. The sex scene was longer than anything that came before it. The second book still follows the same group of brothers, but again it is a case of meet girl, run into vamps, get her to safety and have lots of sex.
If that is the kind of book you are after, you will enjoy this but if you like your books with some sort of storyline t All three books are short stories, but even short stories should have a storyline.
