I thoroughly enjoyed every part of it. I have only read one other book by this author, but after reading this, I'm definitely itching to get my hands on all she has to offer. Phoebe Mayle is such a refreshing type of heroine. Several times throughout the novel, Nick describes her beauty as "real", and "natural". The author did a great job of showing her "flaws"; her hair is a frizzy mess, she's a control freak, and even though she comes from a long line of talented cooks, she can't cook to save her life.
In spite of her flaws, her uniqueness shines through; her love of nature and produce itself, her fierce devotion to her niece and brother in law, and her desire to uphold the name and quality of the cafe her family had left to her. I liked her instantly and truly wanted good things to happen for her.
Something in him called to her. He was like a big plate of pasta, and she was on a low-carb diet. He was bad for her; he was forbidden. Nick Avalon is the equivalent of the most decadent piece of chocolate imaginable. Oh yeah she wanted a taste all right. A big fat forkful, smothered in sexy sauce. Good gracious this man was delicious!! His irresistible British accent, cocky attitude, and heart-stopping good looks are enough to make any woman fall into bed with him, and it's easy to see how Phoebe did.

He has a dreary past that makes it hard for him to allow himself to have any feelings for someone. When Phoebe starts to break away that tough exterior, it scares him. No woman has ever captured his interest like this; captured his heart. Feisty's previous novel, there is some serious heat packed into these pages. Several scenes involve food for props; chocolate sauce, oysters, and fresh ripe oranges. There's even a mild "spanking" scene involving a popular kitchen utensil.
And, it doesn't hurt that Nick is quite the dirty talker. Watch out for those British ones!!! The imagery within this book are a sensory filled fantasy. Delicious recipes adorn the pages making your mouth water and your nose practically smell the food. The setting itself was desirable, green forests, northern coastal towns, and lush farm land. I cannot say enough how much I enjoyed this book.
I would highly suggest it to any reader of romance. To sum up the remainder, there's this: He kissed her then. It was a slow kiss, a kiss of promises. Of forests and beaches and redwood trees and chocolate and oysters. It was a kiss of hope. View all 10 comments. What happens when a bad-boy chief and a good-girl restaurant owner come together? Determined to carry on the tradition while running her own organic farming business at the same time, Phoebe hires a talented chef with a bad-boy reputation. But when her new chef pulls into her nature loving small town in a gas-guzzling eye-catching yellow Hummer, she instantly regrets her decision and coming face-to-face with the arrogant Brit they immediately butt heads while the sparks start to fly. Taking a job at a local dinner in the hippy small town of Redbolt, California is not something that Nick Avalon wants to do but after being fired, again, as chef at a high profile L.
Frustrating his feisty new boss is easy to do and seems to be the only entertainment in this town full of bumpkins, but when things start to heat up in the kitchen and frustration turns to attraction will Nick stick around long enough for it to lead anywhere? This is my first read from author Lilli Feisty and I will definitely be looking into her other works now.
The title of this novel says it all because the story of Phoebe and Nick was sinfully delicious! The romance was edgy, thrilling, and I will never be able to use a whisk or see chocolate pudding without thinking about the erotic uses they can be put to. Deliciously Sinful moved at a nice clip while the engaging characters kept me turning the pages. Nick is the swoon worthy bad boy with a whole other hidden side to his personality that is rarely, if ever, seen. But the more time he spends with Phoebe the more that softer side comes out, which is what Phoebe clings to throughout their hot and cold running relationship.
The back and forth between these two will tug on your heartstrings as they fight their undeniable attraction for each other and slowly start to lower the walls built around each of their hearts. A wonderful romance of opposites attracting, not to mention the sizzling cooking and scorching sex that lit up the pages! A satisfying contemporary erotic romance, I loved every minute of Deliciously Sinful! Deliciously Sinful is chuck full of appetizing erotic love scenes, edgy romance, light bondage, frequent adult language full of snark and so much more!
Definitely heats up the kitchen and the pages, you will need a bath full of ice cubes after this read! Sep 08, Amy rated it really liked it Shelves: I never think of strawberries without thinking of Lilli Feisty's sexy musician, Mark St. Crow and now I will never be able to eat an orange or drink tequila without thinking of her exasperating sexy Brit, Nick Avalon. I was disappointed that we did not learn more of Nick's past but Deliciously Sinful definitely succeeded in satisfying me with an overdue "Feisty fix"! I actually gave my husband a 2 hour massage yesterday so I could keep reading this story instead of cleaning! This book was smoking! Phoebe was now the owner of 2 companies, her organic veggie farm and now her aunt and uncles restaurant. When they passed away, they left it to her. The only problem was, she couldn't cook. She tried - in fact, she tried over and over and over again to make the brownies her aunt always entered in the town's cook off, and won every year for 10 I LOVE this story!
She tried - in fact, she tried over and over and over again to make the brownies her aunt always entered in the town's cook off, and won every year for 10 years But she kept trying and trying because she wanted to prove to the whole town that she wouldn't let them down. She would do everything she could to keep the restaurant up and running just as well as her Aunt and Uncle did.
She hired a new chef, Nick Avalon - He was a risk. He had been fired from his last job and he had a bit of a reputation as a "bad boy" but he was a great chef. He got into a little trouble at his last job and was looking for a new thing.. When Nick got out of his yellow hummer, he took a look up the street and knew he was in Hicksville - Redbolt, California, a million miles away from civilization. No one would be able to comprehend the fact that he was "Nick Avalon, one of the country's most recognized chefs. And that was ok with him..
To let him get his life back in control. The life of living in LA - Cooking for the best restaurants, late night parties and women - lots of beautiful women. There was something about Phoebe that drew Nick's eye. She was stubborn, and bossy, and she didn't seem afraid of Nick. Well that was going to change! It's been a long time since anyone told Nick what to do in the kitchen. Nick was in the kitchen with her whole staff watching him. Those bananas were for the bread you're meant to be baking.
I promise it's better than banana bread. He was coming at her with his wooden spoonful of mouthwatering, and no doubt delicious glistening banana slices. She tried to hold her breath, but she couldn't help it, she had to breathe, right? And Oh my God! The bananas smelled amazing. She licked her lips. He watched her lick her lips. Why did it do that? He slid the spoon over her lips, and her tongue slipped out to allow him to tilt the sweet caramelized banana into her mouth. He kept the spoon in her mouth too good and too long. In the second, the moment of silence in which all she could do was taste and listen to their breathing, heat rushed through her body.
Lots of tension between these two - Phoebe and Nick loved to fight - he liked to try to make her cave, and she secretly liked to let him get his own way, but she didn't want to let him know that. LOL This story had a lot of heat inside the kitchen, the forest, the beach: Awesome story - defiantly going to be recommending it to everyone: Feb 18, Kerste rated it did not like it Shelves: It's hard for me to give an author I have loved one star, but really I did not like this book.
It was a total chore to finish it, but I did. It may be a perfectly good book for someone else, but it was so wholly disappointing to me, I practically had to make myself continue reading. Every time I looked at my Kindle, I nearly found something else to do instead of read.
This book has reasonably good characters and it is a reasonably good story.
But I just found it to be way too va One star. But I just found it to be way too vanilla and just plain boring. Ultimately, I didn't like Nick, our hero bad boy chef. I didn't understand why everyone kept calling Phoebe a control freak she seemed pretty zen and aware and connected to me.
So she felt the need to rely on herself, her nuclear family DIED on her, of course she is a little bit neurotic about her life. That doesn't give her rotten ex-fiance the right to come back and tell her she is controlling, but he still likes her anyway. I liked Jesse, wish her story had gone somewhere. Couldn't quite believe how the story ended.
And can I say that there are a few writer tricks that I hate: Cliff hangers and fore-shadowing. I mean really, fore-shadowing by a couple pages or a chapter, okay. But don't start a book about someone who is suicidal And don't start book with a scene where someone just got into a car accident, alone in the wilderness, with no possible contact to rescuers It freaking distracts me and not in a drives me to keep reading sort of way, more in an you've infuriated me for the last time kind of way. I was so excited to see another book from the author and I was so thoroughly disappointed.
Maybe I'll just keep re-reading Bound to Please cuz that book Oct 17, Mary Gramlich rated it really liked it. How complicated can simple be? Phoebe has taken on the family restaurant knowing it was going to push her over the limit of her capabilities. She makes a great decision to sign on Nick even though he is a hotshot chef from Los Angeles. He may not fit in but he is a great chef so maybe he can blend in and no one will notice. After Phoebe meets him, she knows that his British accent is the least of her problems. These two argue over menus, conduct screaming matches over the proper use of butter, and How complicated can simple be?
These two argue over menus, conduct screaming matches over the proper use of butter, and the best use of a kitchen whisk. The longer Nick spends in this tiny town the more contented he becomes which scares him more than Phoebe. He is use to long nights, fast women, and too much partying. The sound of crickets should make him nervous not relaxed. Nick wonders if this is a phase that will pass. But he worries that his attraction to Phoebe may go away as well even though it feels like it is just growing stronger every day. Phoebe is struggling with her feelings for Nick as well because he is not what she needs or wants and there is no way he will stay put long enough to help her cultivate a relationship.
Phoebe has her hands full in more ways than one. So while Nick is bright lights and big city whereas Phoebe is down to earth and boring. Can these two polar opposites click and come up with the perfect recipe for love and brownies, you never know until you read the book. She keeps the story moving and the character engaging without too much of this and not enough of that! Nick is a conceited chef from L. Phoebe is a control freak and wants to run her late aunt and uncle's cafe well and prove herself.
Their personalities clash, he has an attitude problem, but there is also a sexual tension that sizzles between the two of them. He gets slowly used to this new life, things around Phoebe change but for the best, love blossoms, and oranges get a new use. Oct 15, Kati rated it it was amazing Shelves: Where can I get my own Nick Avalon? Heck, I'd settle for any gorgeous yellow Hummer driving, the Le Cordon Bleu graduate, chocolate pudding making, banana flambeing, oyster gathering, orange peeling, dark haired, blue eyed chef with magical hands and mouth and has a tendency for whisking.
Throw in a tattoo and I think my knees just turned into jello. The relationship between Nick and Phoebe is hot and cold. Yet, their feelings towards each other run a little tepid. Nick wants to go back to his life in Los Angeles, Phoebe knows he's not going to stay.
Nick's constant voicing of his dislike of the town grates Phoebe but his touch puts fire in her veins and he's panty dropping good looking to boot. At every turn she thinks Nick is trying to one up her: Since the passing of her parents and sister, Phoebe has thrown herself into organic farming and running the cafe owned by her late aunt and uncle.
She is determined to show the community that she can carry on the tradition of baking the best brownies and has the ability to run the cafe with the help of her niece and that guy, Nick Avalon. At first, she doesn't know what to do with Nick but after getting to know him a little better, she finds that there is something simmering under his cocky bad boy image.
Nick is just there to re-assess and get his life back together. He's not there to find love or comfort in the arms of an uptight cafe owner. Between taking snark from Phoebe, teaching her niece to cook, showing her how to loosen up behind closed doors and letting the little town and its people grow on him, he's bound to lose his heart along the way. Bad boy, meet good girl and get ready to rock her world with all sorts of foodstuffs.
Not just sexual, but so much deeper. She needed something more than a fuck. She needed him to own her. Now that he'd won the battle, she wanted nothing more than to surrender completely. Dear Lilli Feisty, where have you been all my romance book reading life? This book is I'm borrowing from the title deliciously sinful, wayyy better than chocolate pudding. It's a sexy, laugh out loud, book gripping, thigh clenching, 'oh my god did I just moan out loud in public?
Who knew whisking could be so hot? I was waiting for the book to go up in flames after reading. Again, where can I get a man like Nick Avalon? Oh god, now I'm going to be looking at the likes of Bobby Flay and wonder if he too practices whisking outside of the kitchen. Whisk, chocolate pudding and oranges oh my This book was just that Deliciously Sinful.
Nick the hero lives the life of fine restaurants, fancy parties and beautiful woman in LA. He does not plan on staying in this small town he moved to, only took this job as a chef because he only has a visa to work in CA. If he worked in a diner as a chef in LA or San Francisco people would know him and look down on him for Whisk, chocolate pudding and oranges oh my If he worked in a diner as a chef in LA or San Francisco people would know him and look down on him for working in a dive and not a fancy restaurant. So he took a chef job in a small town where no one would know him and can not judge him.
His father thought cooking was for sissies. He said he would stay a year, but is he really not staying that long. As soon as things slow down in LA from what he did wrong and he is able to go back, he is going. Not only is Nick hot in the kitchen, he is also Hot in the storage room, his kitchen, Cafe Bathroom and the man surely knows how to make use with a whisk, chocolate pudding and oranges. He has her doing things she would never normally do since she took over the Cafe. Love the scene where they were digging for clams in the cold rainy weather. It was nice to see them not but heads but smile and have fun.
The Best Books of Oh yeah she wanted a taste all right. Deliciously Sinful was a good read but did not live up to previous books I've read by Feisty. It's a sexy, laugh out loud, book gripping, thigh clenching, 'oh my god did I just moan out loud in public? Deliciously Sinful almost started a five-alarm fire in my living room.
I did not like how some scenes would take longer because of the character descriptions on what they were thinking. For one scene I thought it was going to be good was on the beach, clothes coming off, a little fondling, Nick brings out rope and does ask her if she has been bonded before and then next thing you know it is ended with something like she was his all night.
So we never got to read on what happened between them. It kind of felt like some of the scene was cut out, and I think if hearing on what they were thinking was cut a little shorter we could of got the rest of what really happened. The secondary characters were fun. Sometimes their stories used up more space then they needed. I enjoyed reading Deliciously Sinful and was my first read by Lilli Feisty. I will be reading more from this series.
I gave it 3 stars only because it was very easy to put down and pick back up. I would still recommend Deliciously Sinful. It has scorching hot scenes, a tortured hero and a good plot. Nick is bidding his time to let the scandal blow over before he can return to LA and the live he loves. The small town is not his idea of a good life, and Phoebe constantly gets on his nerves. I like romances with chef and cooking in them, so the idea of this book really pulled at me and sounded wonderful, however the characters of Nick and Phoebe just did not engage me at all, and the more I read the more frustrated and annoyed I got. Phoebe is a bit of a hippie, and loves her small town life and ways.
She constantly tells Nick throughout the entire book that she hates him.
Even while they are getting busy. I could see it for the first few days, but after almost two months of them working together, sleeping together, she still tells him she hates him every chance she gets. It got to the point where I just wanted to smack some sense into her head. Phoebe could never decide what she wanted, when she wanted it, or anything else for that matter. He was a jerk to not only Phoebe, but almost everyone else he met.
He constantly slammed their small town, calling them hicks and hippies and simpletons. Even after he started to assimilate to the small-town life, he would snark out snide comments that had me rolling me eyes at him. I found myself just hoping it would end soon…. All in all I was pretty disappointed in this Fiesty book. I've become a bit of a romance junkie since starting my blog, but erotic romance isn't something I've read much of. I totally loved this story! Nick is a badass chef from L. After getting wrapped up in a scandal, he tak "Out of all the women in all the world, he had to go and slather chocolate on this one.
After getting wrapped up in a scandal, he takes a job working for Phoebe at the small-town cafe she inherited from her aunt and uncle. Phoebe is a temper wielding control freak. Both main characters possess very dominant personalities. This causes them to be at each others throats from day one.
Their shared anger quickly dissolves into an undeniable attraction and leads to some less than professional behavior in the storage room, on the beach, at his house. Well, you get the picture. I fell in love with setting of Deliciously Sinful. The "hippie" community of Redbolt, California is exactly the type of place I envision myself hopefully living someday. The writing was also beautifully descriptive.
The time and detail dedicated to exploring tastes, textures, and smells had my mouth watering. I love food centric books. Food played a huge at times unorthodox role in Deliciously Sinful. There were several scenes involving food and kitchen tools in ways I don't think my mind would be capable of conjuring on its own.
I'm blushing just thinking about it ; This book is seriously HOT no question, but it is also paired with perfectly developed characters who evolve and change so much over the course of the novel. Deliciously Sinful is much more than just sexy time no worries there is plenty of that as well. I do wish the ending had been stretched out a bit more. The tension and emotion that built up while reading was so strong and intense that the ending left we wanting just a little more.
I'm a sucker for a drawn out dramatic ending.
What can I say: The author also took the time to introduce several secondary characters including Phoebe's niece and brother-in-law who I'm eager to learn more about. I truly hope she considers revisiting the town of Redbolt in forthcoming novels. Regardless of where she takes reader next, I will definitely be picking up more of Lilli Feisty's books in the future. The last thing she wants is to own a restaurant but she can't close the place down - it's been a popular spot since it opened in the early 70s and now she can't believe she's falling for a man who offends all her principles and beliefs - she caught him throwing a plastic bottle into the garbage can!

Will Phoebe be able to endure the sizzle of Nick's eyes, or will she burn to a crisp with no hope of saving this dish? Lately I have been finding books that start at one point and then go a very different direction that sometimes does not make sense.
In this case, we begin with the first line - and it braces me for a possible "foul play" storyline. SO not the case! Why does it start here? I think the story would still work out fine without this beginning. Did Deliciously Sinful satisfy this reader's appetite? I expected more actual resistance, but it seemed that Phoebe bent to Nick's bad boy charms way too easily.
