Arrested by Love

Every fiber of his being is itching to grab her and run for safety. When Ty is told that he must let Claire perform oral on him to prove his loyalty he doesn't really know what to think. On one hand he just wants to get Claire to safety. And on the other he just wants to be with Claire. He doesn't care if others are watching. He's wanted her for months. What starts out as a test for the pair quickly becomes more. After the initiation is complete, both realize how hot they are for one another. Both have thought of nothing but the other since they broke up and they are bound and determined to make up for lost time.

Again, this book was hot and not only was it hot, but it was believable. I believed in their relationship and the feelings that they both felt for one another. I wish this story was a bit longer because I would have liked to have spent more time with Claire and Ty. While this book was hot and the connection between Luke and Sarah is explosive, the story-line left a bit to be desired. It was a little over the top and there were some things that had me rolling my eyes. I felt like I stepped into a porno and that isn't necessarily a good thing.

Sarah and Luke used to be hot and heavy. Not only that, but both are in love with one another and have been for years. Sarah made the mistake of breaking things off with Luke because she didn't think she was good enough and has spent the last four years living in regret. Soon after her break-up with Luke she jumped into a marriage with another man and that ended horribly. Sarah just wants to get past her horrible marriage and move on with her life, the only problem with that is her psycho ex-husband.

He is bound and determined to make Sarah his at all costs, and if he can't have her no one else will. Luke has always loved Sarah and it damn near broke him when she broke up with him. But in a fit of anger he threw himself into his work and didn't fight for her. Now four years later he recognizes he was wrong to just let her go. When he hears that she is newly single, he know he will do everything in his power to have her back in his life. There are so many sparks between these two and I really enjoyed watching their scenes together.

The love and passion these two feel for one another is explosive. My problem with this story is the other characters. I never really understood why Luke is so determined to bring another partner into bed with him and Sarah. It just felt like the author wanted to make things spicy and thought "hey let me add a menage scene.

The guy just shows up and starts removing his clothes. I just wasn't feeling it. I thought the the chemistry between Luke and Sarah was enough and it didn't need a third party. My other issue is the psycho ex-husband story-line. I wan't really fond of the way it was handled and I could have done without it. It just seemed like an after thought. I loved the connection between Jenna and Noah. Noah is a great hero and is very compassionate. I loved that he wants to help Jenna overcome what happened in her past.

Even though he wants her he is willing to wait until she is ready. Several years ago Jenna was a playmate and because of it, guys think that she's easy and always down for a good time. They couldn't be further from the truth. Jenna is trying to overcome a painful secret-she is a victim of rape.

She wants to put her past behind her and move on, but in order to do that she first wants to get revenge. And she needs Noah for her plan to work. She needs to get over her fear of intimacy and figures Noah would be a great start. If she sleeps with him hopefully her fear will dissipate and she will be able to work on her revenge plot. She never expected to enjoy her time with Noah or to feel anything for him. But he's just so gentle and caring, so much more than she is looking for.

Noah has had the hots for Jenna for weeks now and has been slowly working up the courage to ask her out. When she offers him a spot in her bed for the night he jumps at the chance. Little does he know the pain and suffering she experienced at the hands of another. Noah will do whatever he can to help her overcome her horrendous past and move forward.

He has no problems being slow and gentle if that is what she needs. She is worth it in his eyes. I loved the dynamics between these two. Jenna is bound to keep Noah at bay but Noah, is such a sweetheart he continues to push, but he's not overbearing at all. He gives Jenna exactly what she needs. I wish that this story would have been a bit longer because there is so much more from these two I would have liked to have seen.

I loved their connection and I found their story to be much more sweet that the previous ones in the the Red Hot-Cop series. Don't get me wrong, this book was still hot, it just felt like this story focused more on their connection rather than the sex. Overall As a whole, I really enjoyed this series.

I thought that the author brought something unique to each story along with strong connections between the characters.

Each relationship felt real and the chemistry was there for them all. Mix in with that super hot sex scenes. This series is super hot and I hope the author has more stories to go along in this series. We got men in uniform or out of uniform Check We got the steamy factor Check We got love and connection Check All the leading ladies may have had their own issues with insecurities and emotional baggage but all the men were ready to dominate, love and take charge.

The book has three stories packed, oh goodness deliciously, into one All are equally explosive as the next as for heat factors The downside to this series, I wish the first one had more about the couple, since it seemed a little lacking Overall if your looking for a steamy heat quick reads then go ahead and give it a go Aug 18, Mandy rated it it was ok. I didn't dislike it by any means.

There was a lot of sex and threesomes galore. The first story was kind hard for me to wrap my mind around because of the circumstances and the setting of the sexytimes. Edgy and sexy for sure. Apr 21, Yazmin rated it really liked it. This book is so hot and sexy that you will need something cold close to you at all times to cool down. But when it comes to her inner vixen, she is terribly terrified. She had a brief affair with Ty Williamson, but ended their affair when she her inner vixen wanted to do things that made her ashamed, so before she would act o them, she decided to push him away.

Ty Williamson is an undercover cop. He and his friend and partner have been trying to infiltrate the gang of bikers called the Demon Guardians. After many months, Ty has finally been able to infiltrate it, but his cover is danger when Claire walks into the area under another of her investigations. Afraid for her safety, Claire is terrified of what they might do to her, until she spots Ty within the gang. Ty has not been able to forget Claire, he felt the connection with her that was deeper than a just lust.

Now that he sees her in the middle of danger all he wants is to take her to safety and keep her there. But he needs to stay there and not blow his cover, so will stay put and look after her safety. When their test of loyalty is given to them, they will get what they had both been wanting before, her to go down on him, and him to be with her again. But once they start, the past want they have been feeling since their split will make them determined to make up for lost time. Sarah Larson used to be called Sure Thing Sarah, but the only thing she is sure about nowadays is that she still loves Luke Anderson.

She made the biggest mistake of her life four years ago when she broke things up with him to marry another cop. Luke has always loved Sarah, and it nearly broke him into pieces when she left him to marry another man. Now he is determined to fight for her and do everything in his power to have her back. There is still a lot of chemistry and sparks between Luke and Sarah, but her ex-husband in his obsession will not stop until he can have her or make sure that nobody else can. It will be up to Luke to find a way to win Sarah back and to keep her safe from the threat that is her ex-husband.

As a former centerfold playmate, Jenna Mills is used to deflecting the unwanted attention of males. She also does it because she is terribly afraid of males due to her painful past. As a victim of rape she knows that she needs to put the past behind her and move on, but before she can do that she wants revenge on her rapist. Noah James has been attracted to Jenna for weeks and has been working up the courage to ask her out.

So he finds himself surprised when Jenna approaches him with spot, in her bed, which he immediately jumps to accept. To his utter surprise he finds himself with a vulnerable woman who cannot accept physical intimacy because of her fear.

Arrested by Love by Virna DePaul

Noah will not stop until he can help Jenna get past her fears, and he will be patient and gentle as long as it is needed in order to help her. No matter how much Jenna wishes to keep things with Noah only in the physical sense, he will not stop and gently push until he can break all her barriers. This cop may honorable but he is not going to stop until he gets what he wants. Dec 11, Aglaea rated it it was ok Shelves: This selection of three novellas isn't what I call great writing.

There is too much telling and too little showing to my taste, but what bothers me more is to find once again a bunch of women so broken that only the male protagonist can fix them. What is going on with this trend in contemporary romance and erotic novels? Granted, I was never raped, but if a victim of such a terrible act feels broken enough not to trust any man or woman for that matter at all, I'd say s he needs more than discu This selection of three novellas isn't what I call great writing. Granted, I was never raped, but if a victim of such a terrible act feels broken enough not to trust any man or woman for that matter at all, I'd say s he needs more than discussions with family and friends.

I was, however, stuck for a while in an abusive marriage and that part I have some understanding of. The female protagonists of the two first novellas were mistreated in their relationships, whereas the third novella included said rape victim. My core problem is that all three cling to their new man in a slightly unhealthy way, want him to validate them, etc.

Supporting is one thing, but fixing another entirely. What I sense is that all three feel less somehow, not entirely fulfilled or however I should put it, because there is no man by their side - up until the knight in shining armour rides in on his white horse to save her. Then, let the adoration commence. By the way, calling a grown woman "baby girl" is creepy. As for the novella structures, the first two were written with focus on sex, whereas the last was mainly about psychological aftermath. Personally, I found those sidetracks more interesting to read, and in fact almost forgot that I was supposed to be reading an erotic piece, all hot and bothered yeah, that didn't happen.

There are trust issues in all three cases, and yes, don't I know about that. It's a fine line between pushing oneself physically too much too soon, even when wanting that closeness, and refusing to touch even with a ten-foot pole another man. Letting someone in or not isn't the issue, but why it is done. Most of us crave physical contact from time to time, and living without can be very lonely, but in the case of our protagonists I'm just not convinced they have healed enough, been stable enough on their own. The two first men were unexciting, the well-endowed, very muscular hunks that we are supposed to drool over, but Noah of the third novella impressed me.

He stepped outside of his own needs so completely, when supporting Jenna, that I found myself thinking the man isn't real, but a concoction of fantasy. I've never met anyone that selfless and wise, but maybe there are such guys out there. The problem when women write for other women is that we never go inside a man's mind, but we are in danger of feeding our dreams to such an extent that no man can live up to those ideals.

Maybe it's time for a man and woman to write together? May 29, Callixta rated it really liked it. Elles demeurent imaginatives et fortes. Aug 24, Kay Pratt rated it it was amazing. Sorry I couldn't resist. This book was great! It was a vey interesting and spicy diversion. I liked the way DePaul took characters from the first story Copping To It and then wrote the subsequent two novellas about the other two characters. With a smooth tie in between stories and just the right amount of substance in each one, the whole book just flowed like a well choreographed dance routine.

In Copping To It, prim and respectable journalist Claire Fullerton is trying to cover a story when she unexpectedly gets caught up in a steak out with Detective Ty Fullerton whom she has had a secretly lusts for. Ty is undercover in a motorcycle gang that likes to ride bikes and lots of ladies. Ty has always had a thing for Claire, and he encourages her to unleash her inner vixen, and he shows that he accepts her and the vixen as they are.

The second story "Cop Appeal" is a reunion story. After a messy divorce Sarah still carries a torch for Luke that has never really gone out. Luke hears about the divorce and is determined to get her back. When a demented ex-husband begins to threaten her Luke struggles to prove that their second chance at happiness will work out.

In "Cop An Attitude" former centerfold Jenna Mills appears to be ice cold and she shoots down all male attention. She is secretly afraid of men and intimacy due to a past tragedy. But-- she is ready to address her fears. She make an indecent proposal to honorable cop Noah James who she is secretly attracted to.

De Paul has really hit her stride as a writer and it shows in the book. The characters are well developed, and there is just enough background information without getting too involved. The plot development has just the right amount of twist and events, combined with just enough surprise to keep you intrigued. When the characters in the book are naughty, you can almost see the steam rising off the pages. De Paul has got a vivid imagination. No matter what she writes next you won't want to miss it.

Oct 24, Steph rated it liked it. Copping to it is the story of Ty and Claire. Claire is a reporter who goes to a MC for a story. Really she is there to see her ex sexual fling Ty get initiated into the club. Ty is an undercover cop who is working to bring the club down from the inside. When Claire is discovered, he knows that he will risk everything to save her.

Cop appeal is the story of Luke and Sarah. Sarah is on the run from her abusive ex husband 3. Sarah is on the run from her abusive ex husband and lands back in her hometown where she has to face the man she left behind because she was afraid she couldn't make him happy. When Luke finds out Sarah is back in town, he knows he is going to have fun making her keep the promise she made him when she left him. When he learns about the danger her ex husband poses, he knows he has to use all the resources at his disposal to save her. Copping attitude is the story of Noah and Jenna.

Jenna is a former Playboy bunny trying to deal with an assault from a year ago and her thirst for revenge.

She propositions Noah with the hope he can help her get past her fears of being touched. Noah can't believe his ears when Jenna makes her offer. He has been lusting after her since he first laid eyes on her and now that she has opened the door, Noah is never going to let her go. So, I am torn on this review. It really depends on what kind of book you are in the mood for.

If you are looking for a sweet love story, this is not your book. If you are looking for page after page of smokin hot sex and not much else, this is your read. The first two stories do contain MMF sex scenes so if that is not your thing, you have been warned. No, each story is wrapped up in its own way by the end. Overall, this one was just ok for me. The sex is smoking but that is really all there is. So, if you are looking for some hot hot sex, grab this one up. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Jun 24, Snarky Mom rated it it was amazing Shelves: All three are linked by the male characters in it, and as you can figure from the handcuffs on the cover, law enforcement is involved. The other thing that is involved in 2 of the 3 novellas is a menage — so if that is off-putting to you, this may not be the best choice.

ARRESTED BY LOVE (The best of Daria) Season 1. Episode 1. A STORY WRITTEN BY BRIGHT DANIEL Darkness covered. ARRESTED BY LOVE (The best of Daria) Season 1. Episode 3. A STORY WRITTEN BY BRIGHT DANIEL Daria smiled.

From reading the author bio, I see that Virna DePaul is a former prosecuting attorney, and you can tell from the concepts of these stories. The best part of these books okay, the best thing AFTER the sex scenes is that you also get a taste of what law enforcement has to deal with on a daily basis.

Or well, hey — sure, it was intended because actually it ends up being pretty good LOL!! Sarah ended up marrying another cop, divorcing him after his violent tendencies erupted and then being stalked by him. Great beach read… but even better for the nightstand so that you can turn out the light and turn on the hubby or BOB — LOL! Jun 06, Margreet Asselbergs rated it really liked it. Three short erotic stories that will steam up your windows!!! They had a brief involvement a few months ago and had not seen each other since, but out of sight did not ncessarily mean out of mind!

But that was a mistake Now she has her abusive ex-husband after her and Luke on her doorstep wanting to cash in on an old promise and all old feelings come rushing back, as if they had never left. Luke still pushes her boundaries He is roped into helping Jenna overcome a traumatic experience, so she can move on with her life It turns out that Jenna has had her eye on him all this time as well and needs Noah to help her prepare to exact revenge.

But after experiencing the pleasure of passion with the right man, revenge is no longer forefront on her mind! That is, until they encounter the right man and feel safe enough to let go of all inhibition and fear. Despite the fact that the stories are short, you still get a good enough knowledge of the characters to become engaged.

This book should come with a heat warning!!!!! The stories are explicit, but not crass, and the erotic scenes are sizzling. I will most definitely seek out more to read by Virna DePaul! LOL This is an anthology of three novella length stories, each about 50 — 60 pages long. I enjoy sexy short length stories especially these days when I'm short on reading time. This book is packed with the elements I enjoy—likeable characters, alpha heroes who will do anything for their women, heroines who know how to get what they want, sexual tension that burns up the pages and heart-pounding suspense.

In Copping For It, Claire is a 'good girl' journalist who gets turned on by dangerous situations and gets captured by a biker gang she's been tailing. Ty is an undercover cop who has infiltrated the gang and when Claire is practically thrown on his lap, he has to push her limits to save her and his cover. This was my favourite story of the lot. In Cop Appeal, Sarah is coping with the aftermath of a divorce after marrying the wrong man. Now Luke, the man she should've married, is back in town while taking a break from undercover work and he wants her back.

But they have to deal with her stalker ex-husband before they can have a happy ending. In Copping Attitude, Jenna is a former Playboy bunny who was recently sexually assaulted and has a thing against men. But sexy Noah is the one who's going to teach her that all men are not violent or dangerous. This story was a heart-warming read. I totally loved Noah. These stories are sexy and hot and did I say sexy already. But at the heart of them are romance and love and this author wrote them beautifully. First time of reading her and certainly not going to be the last. No monetary or other incentive was provided.

For this review and more visit my blog Arrested By Love is an anthology made up of three stories written by the same author. Generally speaking I am quite a fan of anthologies but this one missed the mark for me. The problem was that all the stories in this novella were too similar for me to really enjoy it. When I read anthologies I expect the stories to be different even if they are written by the same author and even if they are a collection that were originally published separately.

The story For this review and more visit my blog Arrested By Love is an anthology made up of three stories written by the same author. The storylines in these three stories were not the same but the characters were and the romances were and the sex was. It was a problem for me because after the first story which I enjoyed there was nothing left to really experience. The men were the same type of dominant, the women haughty and tough but with submissive natures.

They could have been the same characters from the first story all the way through. The romances were also repetitive, the men desperate to claim their ladies. The woman sure that they are going to get hurt. The bedroom scenes were the same to and there were a lot of threesomes going on. It would have been nice to have spiced it up a bit and not have the same thing every time.

Arrested By Love is an erotic book and not for the faint of heart but I felt like it could have done a lot more with the pages. The stories and writing were fine but all in all it was far too repetitive and there was far too much sex, even for me. It was an ok read but I was looking for more. Noah is a compassionate lover who shows her that men can be tender. The emotional connections between the lovers in each novella were clearly descrbied drawing me into each story. While I enjoyed all three novellas, it was Jenna and Noah's story which touched me th most.

The care he took with her not to frighten her in their first sexual encounter made this a heart warming story. Sep 02, Jody rated it liked it. Tiffany has been doing crazy things to get his attention and finally has. The connection between Ty and Claire is electric. Only he caught her first, and then put her over his knee. So much so, that it is a little The good guys are always good, especially when they are being bad. However, part of that protectiveness includes the need for a certain amount of control.

We have people who have brought the message of grace and the Finished Work and unconditional love into all the world. Others are preaching on it in the United States in different cities and different churches. That happens because people have literally been confined, controlled, and held in by agape love. That is what a church is all about. They may have the Greek inside out, the Hebrew inside out. Well, they need to be turned inside out by agape love.

They may have all the academics. We need to learn. But I think the Bible says in Ephesians 3: How many of you sense that the devil knows a lot? He probably can tell you a lot about the Bible. He quoted the Bible to Jesus. We want a Bible college where students come up with knowledge of the character and nature of God. They know categorical doctrine. They think with God. Yet, there is so much love and agape love in their hearts.

By the way, it is never a love disconnected from truth. Love that is disconnected from truth is just an emotional response to another kingdom or the flesh. It is hot, active, ready to go. Agape love is aggressive. It goes after souls. It goes after relationships, to mend them and restore them. It is initiating all the time. But you know what? Jesus Christ loved me with unfeigned and fervent love. He initiated that towards me, and it changed my life. I was a prisoner to my past, a prisoner to my Galilean inability, a prisoner to my lack of education, a prisoner to my insecurity, a prisoner to my prejudice.

But agape love took me way beyond that, because it controlled me. I was arrested by the love of God. What about heroin addiction? Is that your problem? Are you with me?

Lust is epithumia — that which is on my mind. What is on my mind? Lust is that which is upon the mind, controlling the mind. But when agape love and truth is on the mind, it delivers a person like me or you from any lust that would try to control our lives. We go into villages where people worship trees, rocks, snakes, dogs, cats. We go into those places and bring them this message, and, all of a sudden, love comes in and begins to control people. It was because of you — because of Jesus Christ in you.

We want to have Christian schools where young people are controlled by agape love and not controlled by desires to be like the world. Why would anyone want to be like the devil? I want to have Jesus Christ in my life. We have Christian schools around the world where young people are taught the character and nature of God. Someone can give them all the academic brains. I went to five universities and have three or four university degrees, and I became the cause of the devil. Love goes into them by the Holy Spirit, and then they are placed in the love of God and the Body of Christ.

How did Joseph make it for ninety-five years in Egypt? You want to know how? He was loved specially by his father Genesis He received the love of God and was able to forgive his brothers, even when they sold him. What do you think God does with a man who murders somebody and then digs the hole and hides the body in the sand? How do you change his life? Moses, you have been controlled by the thought that you are the delivere r, but you are trying to do it in the energy of your flesh.

Think about people throughout the Bible. Look at Jacob Genesis Think about Samson in Judges You think about James and John, the sons of thunder, with ambition and a desire to bring fire down from heaven on people. You think of Onesimus who stole from Philemon and was on his way out when he went to Rome, and he found Paul in prison. I love him and I want to put the two of you, Philemon and Onesimus, back together. In the book of Jude, it talks about three trends in the Last Days. It talks about Cain and his commitment to works, Korah and the rebellion against authority, and Balaam and his desire for money.

Jude offered a solution for those things, however. Do you know what it was? Get arrested by love. Build yourself up on your most holy faith. Keep yourself in the love of God. Picture John on the island of Patmos. He was under arrest, surrounded by lunatic and maniacs. Still, in Revelation 1: I am controlled by the love of God. You want to know something else? May I declare as Paul did in Ephesians 3: Why not let God rest in His love?

Oh God, I want to go into that cell for the rest of my life. Thank Him for agape love — unconditional, unending, unlimited, unfathomable love that could change our hearts and make us people who go with this message into a lost and dying world, where people are prisoners to themselves, to the past, to religion.
