Some of the moving parts are really charming, but might be a little complicated for picture book aged readers. This might be one best read with a little assistance. Thanks for telling us about the problem. It is fun and it would make a good interactive readaloud. If you keep turning the pages, they will be on to the fact that you are not a cat at all. It reminded me of The Monster at the End of this Book with the way the narrator speaks directly to the reader. Purrrrrfect fun for toddlers! Nevertheless, I really enjoyed it and would love to read this to a group of preschoolers. My son loved our copy to literal disposal, hours of enjoyment for the toddler set.
