My eyes really widened in understanding when I read this: Hurt people, hurt people. It is so easy to strike back at someone that hurts us. Another thought, which lead me to another aha!
Is the two types of guilt. Unhealthy guilt causes self- hatred and probably indulging in vices and overall bad choices for your life.
I think my favorite phrase in the book is: Today is the day to start walking away from the broken road. Not only is it imformative but is a book of hope,strength,purpose and inspiration. I also recommend that every caregiver reads this to get insight into what feelings and fears the AD patient goes through. After reading this book, I actually hugged the book to my chest.
You can't help but feel the pain caused by this cruel disease. I will read this book over again to make sure I didn't miss anything. It should be a "must read" for everyone to help all of us understand what this disease does to everyone.
