Oct 31, Conniebell rated it it was amazing. Oct 23, Igrowastreesgrow rated it really liked it Shelves: Was a wonderful and entertaining book for the most part. Had some issues with some of the content.
Other than that it was great. Just as great as their YouTube videos. This is not the kind of book I would usually pick up, but considering I've been watching Rose and Rosie since I pre-ordered it And then spent the day in bed ignoring my uni work because I could not put it down. Never fry an egg while reading it ends badly.
Very honest and utterly hilarious.
I look forward to "Over It" in Oct 19, Lamees rated it it was amazing. This book made me laugh, cry and most importantly made me smile the whole way through it. Also after meeting Rose and Rosie being a long time fan and getting the book signed it was heart warming to look back and see the signatures with nice messages at the front of the book.
Overall a hilarious read with lots of great advice and provides a safe space.
Oct 06, Sarah Gibson rated it it was amazing. Hadn't heard of Rose and Rosie before reading this book, but after reading this I am a very big fan! It was enthralling, funny, passionate and honest and I highly recommend it. Oct 05, Kerrinify rated it really liked it Shelves: I would have bought this solely for Rose's letters from the future, to be real.
I would have missed out on some smart, honest, and entertaining writing. Oct 25, el rated it really liked it. I love them both though and it was nice to get a longer form of content from them and to dig more deeply into their past and present. Lots of love, laughs and sexuality as advertised. Oct 14, Matt Collins rated it it was amazing. Amazing if you count it as a table piece to make your judgemental aunt really uncomfortable at family gatherings. Dec 18, Amy rated it really liked it. Rose and Rosie are the best. This book was really enjoyable and filled with the hilarious and very English sense of humour you can find in their videos.
Immediately, you can tell that they have both written this themselves as their personality comes across in their writing. I would buy the book purely for Rose's letters to her future self.
My only criticism is that often parts of the book come across as a bit preachy - I found this with another YouTuber's book I read earlier this year. As much a Rose and Rosie are the best. As much as I love them, I felt like Overshare tried to be too many things at once. I would have liked it if there was more of a focus on the early stages of their relationship as I thoroughly enjoyed reading about that.
Rosie is an angel but I do not want to read about her waxing lyrical about "cultural appropriation"!! However, this is just a minor thing that bothered me. Nobody can underplay the positive impact Rose and Rosie put out onto their platform. I was diagnosed with OCD back in and I have often felt ashamed of it, particularly as there are so many misconceptions about it.
Reading about Rose's experiences brought a tear to my eye as they largely mirrored my own. I seriously feel like Rose and I are the same person I'm looking forward to the sequel "Over It" in Nov 11, Ari rated it it was amazing. Such a fun read! Oct 13, Lauren Anna rated it liked it.
This could have done with one more proof-read, but all is forgiven because damn it was great. I actually choked on tea because I was laughing so much. This was everything I needed. Dec 03, Madelyn Neal rated it liked it Shelves: It is with a heavy heart that I must now inform you that we have in fact reached the end. Nov 29, Charlotte Smith rated it it was amazing Shelves: Nothing I can write about this book will do it justice; you have to read it.
This is so unlike all other autobiographies I have ever read. The way it is written encapsulates their dynamic in a way I never expected to be possible in a book, Rose's sarcasm and Rosie's sincerity fill the entire book and it is so apparent that there was no ghost writing involved.
I don't remember the last time a book affected me emotionally as much as this did. People say this a lot, but I genuinely laughed aloud at Nothing I can write about this book will do it justice; you have to read it. People say this a lot, but I genuinely laughed aloud at a lot of the references and jokes, as much as I have with their videos, but also had tears in my eyes reading some of the darker chapters. Finding someone who I strongly identify with their struggles with anxiety and otherwise has changed the way I look at myself in ways I'm not sure anything else could have.
Roses struggle with OCD and Anxiety resonate so strongly with a lot of my own struggles and Rosies discussion of her sexuality really validated a lot of my confusion. To be able to find comfort and joy in a book as strongly as I did with this one, is so unbelievably rare and something which I can never fully explain in words.
All I can say is this is a book everyone can gain something from, whether it is an understanding you're not alone in your struggles, whether it is an understanding of the impacts of sexism or homophobia, or even just for a light laugh at some silly stories. There is something in this book for everyone and I believe it could change or even save many people's lives - and that is a statement I never thought I would say and don't take lightly.
I'm a very harsh critic when it comes to books, particularly non-fiction books, but I really believe this book deserves the utmost credit for it's honesty and empathy. Oct 22, Laura Belshaw rated it it was amazing. Well where to begin I suppose with a massive Thank you to Rose and Rosie for writing this amazing book, its made me laugh and cry but most importantly it gave me hope and a comfort. Hope that the world will become a place of acceptance and tolerance, that things can get better even when you think they never will,That there is always someone there supporting you even without you realising it.
Comfort for the fact that you don't need to be perfect that it is okay to be who you are and have sad d Well where to begin Comfort for the fact that you don't need to be perfect that it is okay to be who you are and have sad days and though it was said in a comical manner one of the key things I will take from this book was Rose saying "Allow yourself to fall to pieces for five minutes pull yourself together and film a reaction video" and while I don't plan on Vlogging or taking up a career on Youtube anytime soon, I still think this is important, as I know myself when things go wrong I don't give myself time to be upset or "fall to pieces" I push my feelings away and try and fix the problem leaving them to manifest, which is not healthy.
But most importantly this book and these two incredible women who I recently had the pleasure of meeting in Manchester on their tour, have gave me the gift to be able to accept myself for me, and understand that just because I don't conform to societies views and opinions doesn't mean that something is wrong with me and that I have to step away from everything that makes me me in order to fit in. No, they have taught me to love myself for who I am and be proud of who I love and what i'm passionate about, to accept others without judgements, and to make the world that little bit brighter each day in anyway that it can.
So Thank You Rose and Rosie!!! Dec 12, Andrea Thatcher added it Shelves: I saw Rose and Rosie talking about reading their Goodreads reviews on their channel and am now scared to review the book. What I often tell clients I'm a book publicist is that for many reviewers 5-star ratings are reserved for the best books of your life.
My favorite books of the year usually only get 4 stars. So, I wouldn't feel down about any 3 star ratings you get - that's still good! And having an all 5-star rating looks like you've just I saw Rose and Rosie talking about reading their Goodreads reviews on their channel and am now scared to review the book. And having an all 5-star rating looks like you've just had friends inflating your reviews.
I'm not a young person, and I still found it entertaining, interesting, and useful to read other peoples' perspectives. I think where people may have said "they wished there was more depth" they may not have meant in terms of subject matter - yes, there are a lot of deep, personal topics covered here - but they are supplemented by a lot of the silly fun of the type that makes your channel entertaining. But, many readers might find so many lists and fun diversions render the book a little light. And that's how the star of Jordan's Appeal , TV's highest rated legal drama, ends up with a fake girlfriend - the very real, very sexy, and very gay soap star Lacey Matthews.

Rose and Rosie are known for their candid and hilarious YouTube videos Discussing sexuality, revealing secrets and empowering others, Overshare is a book packed with Rose and Rosie's unique take on friendships, fame, mental health and LGBT issues. As visibly out members of the LGBT community, they open up about their own experiences, both together and as individuals, and have written this book in the hope that it gives strength to those who have faced similar difficulties. They are spreading a message of positivity and inclusivity, and want everyone to feel comfortable in their own skin, no matter what their sexuality.
Delve deep into the unfiltered highs and lows of Rose and Rosie's life: Get ready to laugh, cry, cringe and overshare. Lovvvvvvved it but am I the only one who has chapter 2 cut short to 7 minutes? The juiciest chapter to make matters worse. Chapter 3 in audible but in the actual book chapter 2 is cut off at 7: The actual book contains much more , please amend!!! Chapter two where ya at????? It was cut short to seven minutes what the heck! I love rose and rosie for their humor and their personalities. This book is fantastic. I like how candid Rose and Rosie are especially in this wonderful articulation of their life.
It was real with a great comedic balance. If you like their channel, you surely will not be disappointed. I have been watching Rose and Rosie for years and was looking forward to this book for months. It was exactly what I was hoping fo! I finished the book in 2 days! I loved everything about this book. This was so much better than I even anticipated. I laughed, cried and honestly felt like we were friends by the end of this book. I'm so proud of how far they've come. They never fail to make me smile and listening to them read the book to me just emphasies that it's actually written by them and xnxkdudj it's so surreal.
Reading this book has helped me to change how I feel about my own sexuality, my own relationships, friendships and things that I deal with as an individual. It helps me understand myself and the fact that being a strange, but wonderful human is something I can accept. To me what you have is true love. And not because you are totally perfect, but because you have beautiful imperfections- and within that courage to support, guide and accept each other for that.
Thank you for this wonderful book and thank you for oversharing the crazy, special and positive humans beings that you both are. Could not fault this book at all! Funny, informative and emotional. Great to hear more from these two and hearing it spoken by them is the absolute best way to read this book. Loved it and would totally recommend it! These two are literally my favourite humans, they always know how to cheer me up.
This book is amazing both the physical copy and the audio book. As the title suggests, this book is about the authors sharing their deepest issues from past, the ways they overcame them, current progress and future goals and ways to achieve it in their witty style. The issues in their past are so honest and painful, yet they are able to present it in a positive and encouraging manner to help people who are suffering from similar issues and situations. Their present is a motivating reflection of how they have overcome some of those issues and if they can do it then so can others.
Both, Rose and Rosie have a different style yet they both gel together to make one complete absolutely entertaining and encouraging book for people of different genders, sexuality and age group. One can feel their charming sense of humour smoothly flowing from their YouTube channels into their audio book, which is an added relief while listening about some of their serious topics. I give this book a five star for their honesty and its rib-tickling and honest audio presentation of this book.
I listened through and it once, and then put it straight back on to listen again. I felt every emotion I knew I had, and more. Rose and Rosie transition perfectly between comedy moments, to moments which will help you question your own anxious thoughts and see a way through to a better place. When I realised I was a lesbian, I was disappointed by the lack of good content available for queer women. Thank you for giving us something so relatable and positive. Overshare is amazing, and I am so happy to have found a name for my future child, Blauren.
As usual the witty personalities or Rose and Rosie shine through in this amazing book. Despite my distaste for the colour yellow, I found the advice and stories in this book charming, hilarious at points and utterly fantastic. Congratulations to the Authors on their first book!
I hope that you will write some more. I spent most of the time listening to this book in hospital looking after my mother with metastatic breast cancer. Thank you, both of you for keeping me company during this difficult time. My favourite Youtubers have not disappointed! Lots of love, laughs and sexuality as advertised.
A great balance of hard-hitting and wholesome content. Annoyed that one of the best chapters was weirdly cute short though? But will definitely be purchasing a hardcopy anyway.
