If you've read them in series, you experience the characters growing personally and in their relationships, though any book stands alone and doesn't require reading the earlier ones.

I think you get my drift, the author is an obvious enthusiast, actually, probably an expert, and he likes to let you know, everything, far too much for me, I just lost interest. My profound thanks to the rights holder from whom I received the gift of Cached Out, via Audiobook Boom. Thankfully this doesn't seem to matter much. Joe Hempel does an excellent job narrating in this book. The reader can enter into the location searches vicariously by trying to decipher the cryptic clues given in full and so match their solutions against the skills of the protagonist.

I started reading this series because of geocaching but it turns out I really enjoy a well written mystery book, and Russel Atkinson is a terrific writer who skillfully communicates his real life FBI experience in a manner us civilians can understand. I hope the next book in the series is in the works! I have read several of the author's books and he keeps getting better and better. This time he really had me going with the mystery.

Since I geocache, that hobby of CliffNotes resonates with me and I was tickled to see the real world Hungarian Puzzle Box cache woven into the story. I'd happily read more Cliff Knowles mysteries.

One person found this helpful. The plot line was great, and I would have read it even if there was no caching involved. That said, I would have liked more geocaching because that's what I've come to associate with a Cliff Knowles mystery. The only down side to this store for me is keeping all the names straight. I would recommend all of this authors writing to the whole Geocaching community. This kept me on the edge of my seat!

I cannot wait for the next book in this series! I hope one is on the way soon!

Our hero is still smart but often unwise. The smart makes him a good detective, but the unwise gets him into trouble. An easy read for a lazy afternoon Good plot with a little geocaching thrown in and mostly believable characters and dialogue. Not quite what I expected as a story line however it does have the geocaching in it that I like to read about with this character and from the writer from his experiences.

Can't say it is my favorite book from this author but overall I like his style and the fact that he writes from various experiences. See all 8 reviews.

This book is not yet featured on Listopia. I think I enjoyed the idea of this book more than the book its self. Now I read a lot and like to think I'm not stupid, but I had to keeping looking up the meaning of certain words that seems to me like they were just used for the sake of it as you would have a nice flowing sentence then this strange word would pop up, which really ruined it for me. I have to say I was a little disappointed by the one.

The first part of the book was good but the 2nd half left me wondering what happened with the writing.

I felt like many of the parts were way over done and I'm not sure why but I felt like the author was "talking down" to me as he seemed to need to explain every little thing. I did end up finishing the book though, but it wasn't easy.
