Nick has a one night stand with Damian, only to find that his new friend is rather intent on a relationship and, even more, aggressively possessive. To make things even more intense and crazy, it turns out that Damian is a vampire. How can Nick get out of this? What is more, does he even want to? This novella is part of the traditional vampire mythos, with one extra variation pookas to keep things interesting. There are no dull spots in the plot, and there is one or two surprise twists. The book certainly kept me interested until the end. Nick has emotional depth, but is also feisty: He also has a sense of humour to endear him to us.
Nick is the kind of guy you would like to have as a friend. Damien is a charming, but dominant alpha. He none the less cares for Nick. If alphas are your type you'll like him. Yes, the vampires would kill at the drop of a hat, but the book is not at all hard core. There are mild sex scenes, but once again I would not really call this erotica.
None the less if you are a mild, conservative type this is probably not the book for you. Really, at its heart, Vampire Wanted is a romance, with a bit of intrigue thrown in. Will Nick stick with Damien? How will Nick's friends cope with the fact that vampires are real? I like both vampires and romance, so I liked this book. I am happy to award it 4 stars. Vampire Wanted is listed as the first book in the Nick's Tales series by the publisher, however the author list Vampire Wanted as a single book. Be that as it may, this is an outstanding well-paced story filled with humor, sizzling intimacy and a touch of drama. The characters are amazing. Nick is a compassionate man with a feisty attitude. He's intelligent and does not bend to Damian's dictates unless he wants to. When Nick discovers Damian is a vampire, Nick accepted the news with an easy grace. It was love at first sight for Damian; he could not bear to leave Nick's side or see anyone else touch Nick, not even Nick's friends.
The plot also reveals a few mildly dramatic surprises. Amber Kell's Vampire Wanted is an excellent, as well as, an extremely enjoyable saga. I hope there will be more of these wonderful characters. Jul 14, Seregil rated it liked it. It's quirky and funny, but it ends waaay too fast. It builds up an interesting plot and introduces lots of characters and in the end it seems to just cut off the story. Sure, the main couple is finally a couple, but that doesn't mean the story should be over. If it was just about them, then why itntroduce all the other things and give them that much weight? Preparing for a sequel? This book is simply hilarious. Said human has a very hard time taking anything or anyone seriously, which, when added to the overly-serous demeanor of his vampire mate, makes for a really fun read that had me laughing out loud several times.
Nick is a handful. Not easily impressed, with more commitment issues This book is simply hilarious. For the first time in his life Nick faces someone who is at least as stubborn as Nick is. All you need to do is sit back and enjoy the fireworks. Damian is a fairly typical growly, macho vampire. More powerful than the others who surround him, determined to hold on to Nick no matter what, he is possessive enough for two alpha males. I could hear his teeth gnash each time that happened and it made me grin. This is for the supposedly new "expanded release" I still really like the story, But..
I didn't find much different about this new version. When she author first started re-releasing All her book you could tell things were added. Not so much in the last couple of re-do's. To label something as "This is a re-edited, expanded release. Jul 11, Meggie rated it it was amazing Shelves: Jan 02, Hc rated it it was ok Shelves: Found Nick to be an in depth type of character, funny, goes with the flow, unaware of his appeal.
Damien, overbearing, arrogant, dominating vampire. Nick's antics and reactions was the only decent thing to me. Sex scenes are more of gloss overs with no real connection. While daylight is not a factor for these vamps, the constant mind reading gets old super fast. Then when Nick's friend has all this drama, the resolution at the end not only sucked but was also anticlimatic.
Oct 21, Candice rated it liked it Shelves: Nick was such a smartass and how he handled the whole vampire situation and Damien was just hilarious. Jul 03, Tj rated it really liked it Shelves: I've always enjoyed Amber Kell's books. The are a light fun read. Now if you want realism you won't find it here but once again a romantic story of love. Nick is a handfull and is accepting the changes quite well. Waiting for the rest of the series. It's not very often I get to read a comedy with vampires, and this one was delightful Nick was hilarious as the narrator, and I loved how much he didn't care that all of the vampires could read his thoughts. I loved how often we'd read him think something and then he'd say it, or he'd think something and the vampire would answer him and he wouldn't realize he'd never spoken out loud.
It was refreshing to have a MC with so little to hide that he didn't care if his thoughts we It's not very often I get to read a comedy with vampires, and this one was delightful It was refreshing to have a MC with so little to hide that he didn't care if his thoughts were private or not. Damian cracked me up, also.

Vampire Wanted has ratings and 40 reviews. Betryal are you going to write a sequel for this book??? 1 . Vampire Wanted (Nick's Tale #1) by Amber Kell.
I loved how all of the vampire stereotypes here were placed in scenarios that just made their inherent silliness obvious. I hated the ending. It just showcased exactly how self-involved Nick is that, as the narrator, he's comfortable choosing to end the book there. And seconds after finding this out, the book ends. Sure, Nick and Damian are the main characters, but much of the story has been about helping Jeff and Max, so having it end there made me feel like we're abandoning poor Jeff to deal with all of this on his own.
I am apparently in the minority here, since there seems to be an increasing number of books like this out there, but I dislike reading about babies in my romance or erotica books. Perhaps because if the babies are planned for, it seems like it's for the dumbest or most selfish of reasons. And if they're not planned for, then the parents get around to being okay with it for the dumbest or most selfish of reasons.
I'm hoping Nick's decision-making here was intentionally satirical, because that's how I'm choosing to read it. And since I chose to read it that way, it cracked me up! I know this book predates Lover Reborn , but Nick's decision mocks Qhuinn's so beautifully that I have to love it. Mostly because while those reasons were hopefully intentionally exaggerated to emphasize the satire, they're not that different from the reasons given in earnest in other books.
Overall, an enjoyable read with an entertaining narrator and lots of fun vampire satire. I may re-read parts of this when I know I need a laugh. May 22, Phaney rated it liked it Shelves: Another zany tale, this time with snarky first person perspective. This author really is more about the plot than about romance or sex. That said, I am not complaining. Because I had lots of fun. Oddly enough, I got a Mary Calmes vibe with this book.
Except for the lack of depth and seriousness and Review: Except for the lack of depth and seriousness and, thank god, pain. This so reminded me of Timing , or even the A Matter of Time books to some extent. One page Damian says he was not converted but born a vampire, the next page he talks with his father about how he Damian recovered so very fast from being converted. Anyway, I am getting used to romance-less romances. This one definitely falls into that category.
It does help that I knew this already, having read this book before. Either way, it was amusing. Pretty much a barrage of one-liner fun. It follows some of the typical tropes I have come to expect from an Amber Kell paranormal book: I have to admit that I wanted more than a glimpse of Damian, and hopefully that will come in future installments. But Nick is utterly delightful in Vampire Wanted, and his self-deprecating humor had me laughing out loud a few times.
He certainly leads his vampire on a merry chase. So, again, I am hoping we will get more Nick and Damian in the next book. Readers and vampire fans alike, who love smart, sexy, possessive vampires and their bossy human lovers will enjoy Vampire Wanted by Amber Kell. Dec 15, April rated it liked it. First and foremost, I loved the main character, Nicholas. I thought his POV was really funny, and I loved his snark.
His mental images and thought process had me grinning as I read. Though I'm normally not a fan of first person stories, his POV was enjoyable enough that I got past it. The vampire, however, Damian
