Locey gave us just enough of Isamu and Brian to get us hooked and salivating for more.
Valencourt This was a funny enemies to lovers story. I loved watching the feud between Wyatt and Grayson unfold. The story flowed well and although short, it felt complete. While not my favorite, it was still sweet and enjoyable.
I loved Lane, he was so kind and sweet and I liked Jeffrey, but I really dislike closeted characters, well, ones that are grown, out of the house and supporting themselves. I loved this story, it was definitely my favorite, but I was left with my mouth hanging open and wanting more in the end!! This story was sweet and omg, so funny. I loved Russ and his besties and I enjoyed the little bit I got to know of Blake. Bailey, the dog was hilarious and tried to steal every scene he was in! Nox and Matt were likable and very hot together and while I would've liked to see how Nox's father reacted to them being together, it was still a satisfying, very sexy fantasy read.
I loved the slow build up of their relationship. This was a sweet and somewhat funny story, with just a hint of angst added for good measure. Apr 19, ButtonsMom rated it it was amazing. A great collection of stories! The stories in this collection all are great. Most of them are fairly short, and some will leave you wanting more, but there isn't even one of them that I didn't thoroughly enjoy, Brioche for Two by V. Locey This is a great age gap story. While the age difference between Isamu Taylor and Brian Gilles is only 12 years, there is a significant difference in their social standing.
Isamu is still in college while Brian is a successful businessman. The connection between t A great collection of stories! The connection between these two is pretty hot and the film they made for Isamu's school project — WOW! The story ends with an HFN happy for now but the author indicates that this is the first of four stories about Isamu and Brian; I can't wait to read the others. Sweeter than Honey by C.
Valencourt I really enjoyed this short story about Wyatt, a bee keeper, and Grayson, a vegan. They meet at a farmers' market where both of them are selling their wares. Wyatt sells honey harvested from the bees he keeps and Grayson sells vegan desserts. Grayson thinks that taking the honey from bees is cruel and sets out on a campaign to keep Wyatt from selling at the market.
When Wyatt invites Grayson to come see his bee keeping operation Grayson begins to see things in a different light. This was a nice slow burn story. Sam meets Hunter when he can't sleep and he ends up in the diner where Hunter works. Their relationship develops slowly over several months. When they finally end up in bed the sparks really fly. I loved the ending. Lane takes Jeffrey in after he finds him pinned under a tree that fell down in a storm.
The storm also took out the electricity but Lane has a generator and plenty of food for the two of them. Lane is out and Jeffrey isn't but Jeffrey wants to continue their relationship after the storm is over. This story was also a bit of a slow burn one but once Lane and Jeffrey get together — wow! The story has an HFN but I hope there will be more coming for these two.
There's a spark between the two but Blake is leaving soon. There was only enough time for them to know that they want to meet again and the discovery that they don't live too far from each other has them planning to meet after Russ returns from his holiday. A nice sweet story with a cute dog. Nox his helping his father, Eros, god of love, but accidentally shoots his arrow at the wrong persons a straight female and a gay male and he has to try and fix his mistake.
Matt doesn't know what's come over him — why in the world did he ask a woman out on a date? Nox has been crushing on Matt for 2 years and he's incredibly jealous that Matt wants to hang out with the woman his arrow hit by mistake. Wow, the heat between Nox and Matt nearly burned up my ereader. My only complaint was that this story ended too soon and I want to read more about Nox and Matt! Favorite Flowers by Chris McHart This was a very sweet story about one man who says he'll never date again because of his cheating ex and another man who is getting divorced because his wife doesn't believe a pan-sexual man can be faithful to one person.
I really like it a lot. Jason and Gabe's relationship developed very slowly over a fairly long period of months. While there was no sex in this story the connection between the two of them could be felt and the anticipation was delicious. And now she's captivated me again with this short story about two college guys — one a math geek and the other a hockey star. It contains the perfect amount of angst, conflict and sexual tension. Luke and Justin had an encounter when they first met at college but then Justin acted like Luke didn't even exist.
Now that they are both getting ready to graduate, Justin is finally ready to admit he's gay and that he wants to be with Luke. Justin has to work hard to get Luke to take him seriously. I loved that we got to see a glimpse of Luke and Justin a few months down the road. In conclusion, there's not a single bad story in this collection. Add in the fact that the proceeds are going to charity and I'd call this a perfect way to spend a few dollars. Jul 02, Becca Waldrop rated it it was amazing.
In the first, Brioche for Two by V. Locey, I think my heart exploded. It was so sweet. Like a fairy tale. Isamu works in a bakery across the street from a park where Brian orders 2 brioche and 2 coffees. Isamu thinks they are for Brian and his date, but it actually for Brian and Isamu. Isamu has dreamed of Brian for a while and Brian has wanted to ask Isamu out for just as long. He finally gets the nerve and Isamu is swept away in a passionate romance with Brian. This is such a sweet little st In the first, Brioche for Two by V. This is such a sweet little story. I'm going to have to go find the rest of this story and see how these two fair.
It almost feels like a Cinderella story. Just all heartfelt and mushy. Valencourt writes Sweeter Than Honey, where two men are all but enemies over a misunderstanding. Wyatt is a beekeeper and takes very good care of his bees. He's seen the things some people do such as clipping wings and he's not for that.
He wants his bees healthy and happy. But Grayson thinks one bad beekeeper is all bad beekeepers. And he's doing his best to shut Wyatt down. Wyatt makes a compromise for Grayson to see how he works and he does.
Grayson realizes he's gotten it all wrong and does all he can to make it right. Including adding Wyatt's honey to his recipes. Definitely enemies to lovers here lol. These two reminded me of children with how they sometimes behaved but when there is miscommunication, wrong facts and misunderstandings, it leads to nowhere fast.
But when Grayson saw Wyatt was kind to his bees and does all he can for them, he realized he was wrong and made amends. Takes a big person to admit they were wrong. But it frees things up when you do. And these two were better for it. Sam deals with severe insomnia, and decided one night to go to the 24 hr cafe. He meets grace on legs in the form of Hunter as his waiter. Because of his insomnia he goes and visits Hunter off and on and they get to know each other. Hunter doesn't have a lot of free time with work and dealing with an ailing mother, but they do make a few dates and it's something neither will forget.
As they get to know each other, it becomes much more serious, with a sad, yet happy ending. Hunter is just the sweetest thing. I loved him in this story.
He have up his dreams to care for his ailing mom. And while he is stuck in a dead end job, it was his mom's favorite place to eat and he feels closer to her there. Just incredible values in that boy. And Sam just supported and stood there to make it all better for Hunter. These two were a great pair. Jeffrey is fixing up a family house and has no plans to stay. But a huge tree branch falling on him outside puts him in Lane's path and the chemistry is explosive.
Problem is, Jeffrey isn't out and Lane isn't going back in the closet for anyone. They decide to give it a go to see if it can work out and Jeff needs to finally let the cat out of the bag. This was was cute little story. The only problem I have with stories like these is yes there may be chemistry but you can't often base relationships on sex. But if there is communication and friendship along with the chemistry, most often it works.
But for a happy, quick, sexy read, it is definitely a go to. Russ got invited on a girl's weekend when one of the girls broke her ankle.
Seems like it will be a great realxing week, especially with the eye candy on the beach. When he and his friend, Sarah, go walking on the beach, they encounter three gorgeous surfer calling it quits for the day.
One surfer, Blake, seems interested in Russ, but Russ doesn't see how when he's not as fit as Blake. But chemistry is there and Blake wants to try more with Russ, especially after a very heated kiss. Such a sweet story. And the fact that a ripped hunk can be attracted to someone who isn't makes it even better.
It was a sweet intimate story. But he has fallen for a human and that human, Matt, is who Nox is supposed to stick with an arrow. Not only does he not want to, but he misses who he is supposed to hit. Matt, being openly gay for years, is suddenly infatuated with a woman. After the confusion starts to wear off, he realizes he wants to know more about Nox. And he gets what he wants. He chases after Nox and finds him in all his godly glory.
But he wants him too much to stay angry and finally gets what he's wanted all along. When it gets to the sex scenes with Matt and Nox, daaaaaamn. Nox feeds Matt every desire possible and leaves him sated and so drained. He's never felt this way before. If you want a short story that will set you on fire, you need to read this one! Gabe has decided he's never dating again. His friend is trying to set him up, but he's determined to hold out.
Until he meets Jason. Jason keeps coming in week after week after buying the first set of flowers to buy more. And little by little Gabe is losing his will to hold on to that no dating rule. Finally one day, Jason comes in and asks for Gabe's favorite flowers, and for a date. Little by little, they get to know each other and fall in love. When Jason's divorce is final, everything seems to fall into place, and everything between them blossoms. This story was sad but happy. With all both of them had been through and we're going through, I wouldn't want to date again either. But they took things slow and let things fall as they may.
It almost didn't work, but each had to learn to let the past go and move on. That's how it should always be. Live each moment like it's new and fresh and let the bad go. Luke has been in love with Justin since freshman year. He thought he might have him as a friend at the beginning, but after one explosive frottage filled night, Justin runs away and doesn't speak to Like again.
Luke is crushed and spends the next four years comparing every man to Justin. Now he just wants to get through these last few weeks of school and move on.
But at a party Justin's friends have another plan in mind. They try to make things right for how they themselves have treated Luke and beg for Luke not to hold it against Justin. Then Justin tries to make it right and explain. But Luke doesn't know if he can forgive. He's hurt and humiliated. But something Justin says tears his walls down and he gives it a chance and life finally seems to have new meaning. Oh I felt so bad for Luke. I wanted to punch Justin so bad for him.
And I wondered like Luke did if it was all a joke. My heart was going to shatter. But Luke saw that Justin was really trying to make it right and gave Justin his chance. I still wanted to smack Justin for waiting so long but at least he finally pulled his head out of his ass lol.
Apr 15, Lucy rated it really liked it. As in every anthology there were stories I liked more than others. I got introduced to authors new to me, several of which I will be looking forward to seeing again. All the stories here are fairly short, as typical in an anthology.
Brioche for Two - V. Of course, he helps Isamu with his film project on finding passion. It really is the story of their meeting and maybe beginning. Sweeter Than Honey - C. Valencourt 4 stars Grayson is a vegan baker who sells at the market where Wyatt sells honey from his hives. Some nasty attitude prevails and it is up to Wyatt to show Grayson not everyone is cruel.
New to me author and this story was adorable. I admit, the vegan aspect drew me in — I am a vegetarian always trying to make that leap to vegan. The uninformed and sanctimonious way Grayson attacked Wyatt is, unfortunately, all too common in the vegan community. Wyatt is patient and a good person and I enjoyed reading about the bees. Special Nights — DJ Jamison 3. Hunter has a lot going on in his personal life right now but he takes the time to talk to Sam. This is set across the year and how they slowly become something to each other.
I liked the flirting between the two and the fact that nothing was rushed. It was cute, maybe needed to be a bit longer. Lane is his next door neighbor and during a storm not only does the power go out but Jeff is trapped under a fallen branch. It is the week they spend snowed in that they get to know each other.
The other part is that they have conversations that seem forced and stilted. Beach Boys — Annabelle Jacobs 3. Omei Clan has its own share of problems, because their previous headmistress Lee Bing-Bing returns after being driven mad due to rejection by a male. She resolves to kill all of Omei and then herself unless May can best her in a one-on-one duel. To do so, May needs to learn the "Broken Heart" stance, which can only be obtained if May actually experiences a broken heart herself. She travels to Hong Kong and searches out Tiger, because he seems to be the only one that can help her.
He resolves to do so because after all, May was his "saviour. You can enjoy it if you're looking for cute couple with interesting views on love And it is a good example of a solidly made light hearted romantic comedy from this part of the world!
