Loved the writing style. I'm a software developer running my own little company so after being made aware of this book, it definitely caught my attention.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading about how FusionCharts an Indian company grew from "nothing" to what it is today. It was quite interesting how, on the business side, there was virtually no experience and just about everything had to be learned. Also interesting was how they used Barack Obama to market their product, and how Steve Job's decision not to support Flash created a huge challenge and had them "sleeping with the competition". Anyway, this is a great little business read that you can probably read in 90 minutes to a couple of hours.
I found it WELL worth the time. I also picked up some ideas for my own small business. I think there is the potential here though for a book just like this but with more business details. It might be more boring to some, but for others who want more detail it would be worth it.

Anyway, definitely 5 stars from me. For years I have been using a charting package that has proven easy to use and extensible to boot. It used flash and now uses html5 as the rendering engine. But you would not really know about the plumbing because it has been hidden so well.
This book narrates an amazing journey of vision, passion and sometimes luck for instance the photograph of Barack sitting in front of a dashboard produced with these charts and widgets. And let's not forget customer feedback and satisfaction rounding out the story. Over the years this company has proven to be responsive and caring. Like the rendering engine, the company and its stories were well hidden.
Somehow the hard work, dedication, customer focus and luck have produced a narrative that reads well and could be the blueprint for technological success. I am most appreciative to have been able to experience some of the story that I could only guess at, sitting so far away.
There are lessons to be learned here that deserve taking the time to discover. This book is the technology counterpart to restaurants that have exceptional food in modest surroundings: I highly recommend this easy read, and hope you enjoy it, and even put some of it into practice. That, I believe is the point.
