This will have the capability to be accessed by Canadian Judges so they are able to watch a series of presentations including our current PowerPoint presentation along with video of dogs moving. Danik will also be examining some of the dogs while providing inform ation as per the breed standard as he examines them. Merchandise was revamped in by Frances Berman and Carolynne Issa. Sales have been on the move and this has helped keep our club financially stable and viable. The Trudeau puppy incident with our involvement helped raise awareness of responsible breeding practices.
The board continues to be committed to educate the public. A new committee will hopefully be created to focus on this. Lorraine Wilson also asked if there was a committee for the Judges Seminar and what are we trying to accomplish with this. There is a committee in place and the new board will be responsible in completing and rolling out the seminar. Lots of discussion was held on having more peopl e besides just Board members participate on the committee for the completion of the Online Judges Seminar.
Anyone who is interested should send Sharon an email so we can come up with a way to expand the committee. As new President, Karine will make this a priority moving forward in We have 17 categories with 15 categories having badges issued. The categories not issued are tracking and dock diving.
In total badges have been issued. She believes that to be more representative of what future years will look like. As a percentage categories are: Water Conformation Rally Obedience Agility. The budget will likely be cut in half as we have a good inventory of badges. Pat Vokes responded that any revenue goes back into the club, but this area will likely represent an expense.
Evenso, the Achievement Program is something that we feel will help encourage participation.
Communication Report Tracy Brown took over position as Secretary in Her main role is working with the executive co mmunicating information via email to membership. She will remain on the board for Only one dog actually came in to rescue. Diamond was bred by a non-member breeder and came to us through another breed rescue program. Sadly a dog that was previously surrendered to Rescue and rehomed was euthanized by the owners. They had done a lot of work with the dog but were unable to help her as she had lunged and bitten several times.
Most applicants are not suitable for a difficult rescue like the last two we have received as they have no previo us dog experience or young children and are not able to deal with issues that adult dogs have when being surrendered to Rescue. She will direct them to the website to refer to the Buyer Beware articles.
Patti wishes to resign as Vice President and Rescue Coordinator. Lunch will be held after the Specialty. Will host judges education and the filming of Judging Seminar. Audrey Hawthorne asked if there was going to be performance events tied into the Specialty.
