What a perfect book to win. I enjoyed it immensely. I recommend this book to anyone who likes historical novels, and also romance novels - you're in for a treat. I also recommend this book to people who like books about political intrigue or simply a thumping good read. There's so much going on in this book to make hordes of people happy. You won't be wasting a penny or a second of your time. It is really that good. Ripete sempre le stesse cose, non succede un bel niente e tutto scorre lento e privo di brio. Written with plenty of flair and gravitas, Chained to the Barbarian is a captivating historical romance from an inimitable writer who knows how to hold her readers spellbound: Oct 27, Elle! I'm not going to lie and say imagining a guy Cheeto colored man with bulging muscles dashing buck naked in a castle like a woods elf isn't funny fun!
Sounds like Harlequin doesn't it? Man enjoying his Cheeto-ness. Hide the children again. Another one of "those" steamy reviews!
Attention all Harlequin junkees Omigod now I too, own a steamy Harlequin like my dear mother I received this little paperback book from Carol Townend, signature included. So if she got me huge romance cynic I'm not going to lie and say imagining a guy Cheeto colored man with bulging muscles dashing buck naked in a castle like a woods elf isn't funny fun! So if she got me huge romance cynic to read about William the Frankish Knight's bulging orange biceps barf and Anne the beautiful cynical scheming virgin and their sex life.
She wrote rather well! So let's get down to the nitty gritty! Plot Sir William is standing in a Constantinople slave market when Lady-in-waiting Anna is going to be married—against her will. When she sees William - half alive but still proud and chained. She formulates a plan , captured knight will be freed.
Only if he promises to give her a ring. Sex You all know that's the reason you read these! I generally don't know if this company publishes romances with light sex or graphic sex but there is one scene in the book that is written in a graphically elegant way Lol geez. The rest is just smooching and carrying to one sex scene. There isn't a thousand scattered through this book. I can see where this book would be great for readers. The sexual interaction builds throughout the whole story. The lusciously painted bedroom ceiling there.
So it's "fulfilling" and the plot climaxes well. Will I read more? It seems to be a medieval romance wrapped into one. If you love Byzantine times and are a fan of Harlequin you will not be disappointed! And it has sex! It was a light read. The author even signed it: I liked this book, but it was a little "light" on the romance.
I suppose this is to be expected of the publisher. This might not be a problem for other readers, but I'm used to reading books with lots of extra steamy sex scenes.
Despite the lack of the sex scenes, this book was very interesting as it was well written and well researched. I learned a lot about the time period. The characters were well developed and had che I won this book through a first reads giveaway.
The rest is just smooching and carrying to one sex scene. Read Caballero Oscuro Bolsillo: Didn't get interesting until it was almostver. Anna might keep telling herself that she only bid for William to ensure that the two little girls that were with him are given a decent chance at a better life, but deep down she knows that the only reason why she has bought the warrior slave is because she is dangerously attracted to him! You certainly get a lot of some things that have not been what you get.
The characters were well developed and had chemistry. The only thing I didn't like was I didn't really feel like they fell "in love". As it was a shorter book the characters didn't really get a chance to go through much together. Usually this conflict makes the reader feel as though the characters are really falling in love even in a short amount of time.
This book lacked that, which I felt detracted from the story. Sep 08, Cristina Contilli added it. Anna aveva trascorso alcuni anni al seguito della principessa. This book combined a romance with quiet a lot of history about Constantinople and Princess Theodore. It had good descriptions of the buildings and the Cistern. Oct 28, Renn rated it it was ok. This was a very boring book. It took forever the read all of it. Didn't get interesting until it was almostver.
