This book is not yet featured on Listopia. Book two has a very eye catching front cover, it is totally dif 3. Unlike book one which was fairly fast paced with lots of action this one was more laid back with a long build up to any of the showdowns. Melissa Sasina has a unique writing style that shows in both books that I have read by her and it flows in an easy way. The dialogue felt real and natural and the characters were well developed. I enjoyed seeing Ril back in this book, his humour and playful attitude gives some lifts to the mood in what is overall a serious storyline, and he has become my favourite character!

This book was a lot of fun. The relationships between characters really seemed to deepen as it progressed and the newly introduced characters like Finn, Tiny, and Boss definitely made things interesting. Plot-wise I appreciated that the action basically took right off where book 1 left off; there wasn't a lot of setting up new situations that left me hanging while waiting for the action.

As soon as I finished this book I opened the next one on my Kindle.
I'm going to be very upset when I have to wait for book 4. Jun 18, M. The epic fantasy continues with all the detail, adventure and mythology that the series began with. In this installment we are lead to more places in Midgard, including Dverdar cities and the Dokkalfar kingdom of Azrith. Many secrets of the empire are revealed, including several things about Severus. Readers will also be captivated by the Valkyrie, an especially intriguing part of the book.
In this second installment the group has gotten passed introductions and we see them begin to blend together, work together, and occasionally.

We learn a lot more about Boss, which was exciting. Also, we learn about Ril's past, the pirate is more than what he seems.
The pacing was very good and I found this installment to have even more action and adventure than Falls the Shadow. The Chronicles of Midgard is a series you can't put down! By the way, those of you on Team Ril will not be disappointed.
