Of course, I am not going to consider the reviews by my friends and close relatives least they are biased. That is the one thing it is not. Faceless is a very fast read. Some readers have expressed their dislike for the explicit sexual scenes.
It is more out of a desire to love someone than merely to be loved. It gives you the passion and strength to fight for your beloved to protect them from injury or insult. Devdas lives in self-pity and becomes self-destructive when he turns to alcohol as his constant companion. We'll publish them on our site once we've reviewed them. It allows you to accept and be accepted without pressure or judgement. However, even she cannot ease his heartache of losing Paro.
In my experience, there are times when physical intimacy transcends all. All boundaries, all inhibitions, all obstacles. And in the purest and most basic act of mankind, two souls connect. To me there was no other way for two intelligent people, Shom and Raima, to discover love in their first encounter.
This I think is more logical than the love at first sight. Then there are others who are not happy with the pace of the last chapter as too much happens in a very short time. In reality, it is a teaser to my next book. A portion of my upcoming novel will delve into what happens to Shom when he goes underground, how he successfully carries out his covert operations; how he becomes a faceless force to reckon with, etc. The mystery will unfold. So if you have been left amazed and intrigued, be sure to pick up my second novel!

I would like to refer to one of the reviewers whose name I recall as Mr. He has liked my story and given it good rating and he was curious to know why being faceless was the only way out. This question to my delight prompted quite a question-answer session in my blog. If you have something to add, be sure to join in. Shom is a hopeless romantic and has so much love in his heart to bestow on someone. But he is unable to on his wife because she is so caught up in her life and their children that he is left completely ignored.
Unfortunately for him to live, he cannot mortify his soul. He seeks out women who he can satisfy and indulge with his love, however ephemeral the encounter might be. It is more out of a desire to love someone than merely to be loved. And it certainly is not just a pleasing of carnal desires. It is for this reason and not cowardice that he does not come out to his wife and family who he loves dearly. Therefore, in balancing the act of co-existence — Shom, the lonely lover and Shom, the family man — his only choice is to remain faceless.
It is the only way out. To Shom, it is better to live the truth and speak a lie rather than live a lie and speak the truth. Unintentionally, it has uncanny parallels with the story of Devdas. In fact, it can almost be said that it is a rendition of the greatest love story ever told with a modern twist and perspective.

Much like the character of Devdas, Shom is a relatable protagonist whose biggest weakness is his love for a woman. Devdas shares a magnetic childhood bond with his playmate Paro where supreme love is felt before it is understood. Shom, on the other hand, experiences his first ever true love with his childhood sweetheart Aruna. Aruna, who comes from a far more affluent family than Shom is taken away from him by her father and soon she leaves his life forever when she is found dead in Paris.
Shom and Devdas are emotionally shattered. A chasm of pain and longing fills their souls. Devdas lives in self-pity and becomes self-destructive when he turns to alcohol as his constant companion.

No matter how much he drinks, he cannot numb the piercing pain of losing Paro. Shom turns to other women to fill his void; to rediscover his lost love in someone else, but nothing ever matches up to his love for Aruna, leaving him in a constant state of guilt and pain. The pain of losing Aruna never ceases for Shom either, but with Raima there was the same soul connection he had felt before with Aruna.

Raima, in fact, is Paro and Chandramukhi in one. Faceless like Devdas is the story of a love beyond all else, even life. It is the saga of a man who loved, loved and simply loved. It is in the giving of unconditional love Shom and Devdas that lay their greatest dignity. Both stories are a testimony of a love that is pure, chaste, undemanding and thus immortal.
Indeed, love is their life.
