Bobby came from a large and loving rescue centre. It soon became obvious that Bob missed all his doggy friends and he began his mission to replace them. It is easy to recognise his successes by dogs or their owners waiting patiently at the end of my drive hoping to see him or gazing over from the other side of the road.
He often saunters up to people, and lies down to have his ears washed by his willing slaves and in return he nuzzles under their chins. Partings can be quite traumatic. Bob is well known in the neighbourhood and has had mentions on Facebook because of his love of dogs but he is equally affectionate towards children although he does not expect them to wash his ears. He shows no animosity towards any other felines in the area, leaving territorial disputes of that kind to his smaller companion.
Tracking him down while asleep is easy, I just follow the snores and this can lead to various spots ranging from on top of my handbags in the wardrobe to the middle of the kitchen floor, but he does try really hard to choose dark places where it is especially easy to trip over him. Always the perfect host he is more than happy to share the spare bed with any willing visitor.
Bringing traffic in both directions to a halt while he slept peacefully in the middle of the road.
