The residual heat from the skillet will sear the other side of the pork chops while the heat of the oven cooks them through.

The result is a perfectly cooked pork chop: Serve it with a simple side salad, roasted vegetables, or rice pilaf for an easy and quick weeknight meal. Brine the pork chops optional: If you have time, brining the pork for even a brief period adds flavor and ensures juiciness in the finished chop.

Bring 1 cup of the water to a boil, add the salt and optional flavorings, and stir to dissolve the salt. Add 2 more cups of cold water to bring the temperature of the brine down to room temperature. Place the pork chops in a shallow dish and pour the brine over top. The brine should cover the chops -- if not, add additional water and salt 1 cup water to 1 tablespoon salt until the chops are submerged. Cover the dish and refrigerate for 30 minutes or up to 4 hours. Place the skillet in the oven to preheat as well.

While the oven heats, prepare the pork chops. Remove the chops from the brine; if you didn't brine, remove the chops from their packaging.

Pat dry with paper towels. Rub both sides with olive oil, then sprinkle with salt and pepper. Set the chops aside to warm while the oven finishes heating. Using oven mitts, carefully remove the hot skillet from the oven and set it over medium-high heat on the stovetop. Turn on a vent fan or open a window. Lay the pork chops in the hot skillet. You should hear them immediately begin to sizzle. Sear until the undersides of the chops are seared golden, 3 minutes. The chops may start to smoke a little -- that's OK. Turn down the heat if it becomes excessive.

Use tongs to flip the pork chops to the other side. Immediately transfer the skillet to the oven using oven mitts. Roast until the pork chops are cooked through and register F to F in the thickest part of the meat with an instant-read thermometer. Cooking time will be 6 to 10 minutes depending on the thickness of the chops, how cool they were at the start of cooking, and whether they were brined. Some things in the story were unbelievable and seemed to come from left field but overall it added to the craziness of their lives. One disappointment is the grammar.

Often times the book went from present tense to past within the same paragraph. There were a few spelling errors also but none of that took away from the plot. A lot of deaths in the end that I was not expecting but I'm excited to begin reading Lexi's story! One person found this helpful. Good work however it was moving a little too fast in the middle to end I wish it would have really went into what happened with Kojack and his assistant I was looking for Kojack to have a change of heart and bail Pandora out as well as Pandora getting the proper revenge on the bank and her sisters, at least a little azz kicking.

Juicy 2: Getting Even

This two-book novel series was very interesting yet uniquely written. I enjoyed the novel yet I was sad for the characters in the end. Even though Pandora probably deserved to die anyway, I still felt for her! This book as well as the first one was very action packed and leaves you on the edge of your seat. It even has a large range of disturbing situations which makes you sit and think about how twisted a person's life can end up.

The story line can be taken as a life-long lesson for anyone in general reality.

I don't understand why majority of the main characters were killed. Sooooo last night I finished Juicy 2 by Nicety NOW I need a part I knew Diamond and Pandora would die but I was expecting them to kill each other. As I continue to read I want more and more lol. I was eager to read the second part of this book although I really didn't care for it. I didn't like that siblings were pitted against each other that way, wanting to kill each other NOTEplease proof these e-books. There are too many typos and grammatical errors. I enjoyed this book.

The series was well written and kept my attention. It was a great mixture of love, lust and excitement. I'm glad it was a story line not so oversexed. I would've been happy with a part 3. But I'm glad she got to the point and moved on. See all 93 reviews.
