The later ones make me cry and hold my attention raptly, the earlier ones leave me debating whether I should finish the book as they are more formulaic, predictable, and somehow shallower emotionally.

I copied this synopsis of the story because it was better than what I would have written. This was not my favorite book of this author so far. It is her 4th book. It was ok, interesting characters but I did not find the story as "gripping" as some of the books. I am glad that her newer books delve deeper into the stories and they are different.

Nice, easy read with lovely story and wonderful characters, but a predictable storyline. You can tell this is one of Kristin Hannah's first books, as she has advanced her stories multitudes. Everyone has to start somewhere and I love Kirstin Hannah and nice to read some of her earlier works.
