The illustrator captured Sugarpaw and the other characters in the authors writing especially Sugarpaw's very mischievousness behavior. The book was full of colors to attract and hold a child's attention and stir their imagination.

The illustrations by Kevin Collier are charming and colourful and will delight your young person as they explore the pages. He has a change of heart and learns that it's better to be honest and follow the rules. A little bear named SugarPaw hopes to get rid of his babysitter, Bonnie Whiskes, by getting her into trouble after making changes to his rules chart. Children will enjoy the big and bold illustrations and will laugh at the stunts that SugarPaw tries.
The author and illustrator was a great match for bringing forth this funny story. I highly recommend this book.

Sugarpaw does not want a babysitter. He bitterly complains about having one. Then, after his parents leave, Sugarpaw decides to become a babysitter's worst nightmare. It's utter chaos and mayhem. Fortunately, Sugarpaw realizes that the nice babysitter is going to get in a lot of trouble for the messes he's made. He has a change of heart and learns that it's better to be honest and follow the rules. Babysitting Sugarpaw is a very good book to share with kids when it's time to bring over the babysitter. It's a useful tool to use when talking about following the rules. The illustrations are cute and do a nice job in showing the expressions of the various characters. Parents can easily point out how upset the babysitter is when Sugarpaw is not following the rules.

I fun book to add to a primary classroom library. SugarPaw does not want a babysitter so he changes the rules chart and spends most of the night misbehaving. By the end of the evening SugarPaw realizes that he really does like Bonnie Whiskers as a babysitter and has not been honest. The surprising twist at the end will pull on your heartstrings. Author VS Grenier has created a tender, heartwarming story that children will enjoy having read to them and that parents will enjoy reading.
Babysitting SugarPaw should bring back a lot of fond, and perhaps a few not-so-fond, memories for both former babysitters and former children who were babysat. After all, what would we parents do without babysitters? My five year-old really enjoyed it and loved the idea of SugarPaw tricking Bonnie Whiskers, the babysitter.
I thought it was good that SugarPaw felt remorse for his actions and worried about getting Bonnie Whiskers into trouble.
He apologized and told Bonnie that he liked having a babysitter after all. A good way to introduce the concept of a babysitter to young children.
