I have no more Lisa Marie Rice books left to read. I guess I could read the Elizabeth Jennings books I have of hers. This woman needs to stop lazing around the Italian Riviera and get to writing!!! I love Joey W. Her Nature of Desire series can do no wrong with me. This story was shorter than LMR's but it seemed weightier and was much kinkier. This little story has some beautifully described bondage and some playful uses of Christmas ornaments. It was boring and cliche. The presents reminded me of gifts you would find in the 'naughty' section of Spencers and the fact that the dude was packing nine or ten inches had me rolling my eyes.
It was a shame that I didn't like this story. I loved her last Christmas story, Unwrapped, but this was was too silly for my tastes.
Now I remember why. View all 7 comments.

Six short stories, all erotic, some romantic, some down-right silly, all with a Christmas holiday theme… First up, Passion in a Pear Tree by Tawny Taylor When Destiny receives a Christmas present from her sister--a nearly nude hunk holding a potted pear tree and determined to give her the best 24 hrs. But her hunk has a secret…and Destiny is going to need a little Christmas magic and a declaration to make her Christmas dreams come true. This was one wacky story. He wants to marry her but is having trouble convincing her to trust again. She says she loves him but he needs her to prove she trusts him. So he takes her to Phantasie Castle where he uses some extreme methods to elicit that trust… Just okay for me.
This was an old acquaintances turned to lovers story, and it was a pretty good one. When Cole asks Amy to be his Christmas Elf for charity while he plays Santa, she decides to finally make her move, dropping hints and playfully flirting. Hot, hot, hot--and it certainly lived up to its title. Elves, fairies, fae…the Nutcracker Prince, the Sugar Plum Fairy, the Mouse King, an elf who breaks into an "elf song" when she climaxes…not for me, but I stuck with it. Basically it was a story about two people who have loved and lost, and overcome obstacles to love again.
Lots of heat, but didn't do much for me. She has no time or plans for love or sex. She meets Alessandro at a party at the Italian embassy in Amman. He has a law degree but entered the Italian foreign service at After that, the hormones take over, Nicole and Alessandro have sex for nearly a week, and on Christmas Eve he makes plans to move in with her.
Nicole is worried, then crushed when she finds out what she thinks is the truth. Nicole thought she knew Alessandro and that he was her soul mate, but she never really knew him at all. Is there an explanation? Or was he no more than the good time her head tells her he was, and not the love of her life that her heart tells her? This is an example of what a good storyteller can do with only 27 pages--she made me care about these characters and fall in love with them. My only wish was that this story could be expanded by say, oh, pages.
Very hot, erotic, and romantic. View all 3 comments.

Six stories of Christmas. Volume 1 has the first six stories. If you don't like stories with sex in them you might want to skip this book. I liked the stories and would read again. Feb 25, Rhapsody rated it it was ok Recommends it for: I love one-shots when it's manga. Not so much when it's a romance short story. A female diplomat fell in love with a man who disappeared after a week.
She's still heartbroken a year later, but they're unexpectedly reunited.
Nothing special, and there wasn't enough time to get attached to the characters. I have to say--what an appalling cover.
Joey takes Gina's warning he cannot ruin their friendship by going to bed with Alex (again), but finds it very hard to turn off the mood, while she feels undesirable when he manages. Title: Joey and the Christmas Party (15 Dec ) Joey Tribbiani. With Steve Blount, Liam Carney, Martin Dempsey, Stephen Dunne. Despite a difficult home life, Joey has a vivid imagination. Two days before Christmas.
I guess I don't have much of a sense of humor about me reading romance. Now I'm really sad. This is the last of Rice's current releases that I had left to r I love one-shots when it's manga. This is the last of Rice's current releases that I had left to read.
Dec 06, Cindy rated it really liked it. Multi-author anthology of short stories [and some of them are VERY short: I also liked Joey W. Hill's Snow Angel - the kinky bondage stuff was actually explained! The other stories were typical - if the choice was between developing a plot, building a character or a hot sex scene, guess which one wins!
