I would recommend this book to anyone it is a two thumbs up novel. Jan 30, Double Play rated it liked it. Quick and easy read. Still thinking about Lorain's actions towards her daughter Unique in regards to the twins. I feel very conflicted about it. Also wondering if Nicholas can really let go of the fact that Lorain somewhat tricked him into marriage. Jun 21, Lady K rated it really liked it. I'm glad the ending was a happy one. Jun 26, Dionne rated it it was amazing.

This book was indeed a test of faith for the characters. I honestly felt I was on a journey with them as they dealt with their struggles physically, spiritually, and mentally.
There was no area of life, left unturned. Korica and Lorain have a verbal battle on who is considered as Unique true mother, and how is Lorain a Christian based on her past. The Lord surely works in mysterious ways. Dec 28, Sarie rated it it was amazing. I'm glad the ending was a happy one. Unique and her mother Lorain have become mother and daughter again after having a shaky past with each other.
This book makes you think about how much faith do you have if you faced unforeseeable circumstances. The Christian principles are throughout the book, but it is not "churchy" I am sure it is not a word. Without giving away the plot, Lorrain and Unique, mother and daughter, are tempted with various obstacles.
Lorrain ha This book was indeed a test of faith for the characters. Lorrain has several secrets that she hopes does not come to light. Unique faces traumatic life events because she was not living her best life. Korica raised Unique and does not approve of this new relationship between her daughter and Lorrain. You have to read to find out why! Korica continually reminds them about their so-called "Christianity" even if the crudeness leads to isolating someone.
There are other characters as well such as Renee, Nicholas, and cannot forget Eleanor who indirectly impacts their decision making. May 16, Veronica Jones rated it liked it Shelves: Starting off with Unique was definitely worth the time to read, unfortunate events happened but it still turned around for her: I accidently read it twice because I forgot that I read it the first time. Once I start reading it I didn't want to start something and not finish it and I thought maybe it's better the second time around.
Joy but I'm keeping it honest.
To God be the Glory. What a wonderful thought provoking novel.

The Lord surely works in mysterious ways. What He takes, He eventually replaces. We know we much trust God not with our own understanding. We also know the devil is always busy! Faith must be our saving Grace. Just when you think you have lost everything on Earth, it's not always the case.
Each one of us should be able to call ourselves a Christian. EN Joy shows us how things can go totally wrong but turn out right! What does that mean?
It means to be Christ-like. So in other words; we are going around calling ourselves like Christ, but are we living up to it? Judging by this quote, and the fact that SO many people like it, on a whole I would say no we are not doing a very good job. No one is perfect, but I do believe it is necessary that in order to be Christian, we have to at least take it upon ourselves to learn what that truly means. On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. I have to ask myself how we can accomplish this if we do not take it upon ourselves to read the Bible and actually learn about the God we are supposed to love and serve.
I think reading and learning should be one of our top priorities of the Christian faith.
In fact, when you think about it, most people who profess to be Christian have never actually read much of the Bible except maybe a verse here and there, and most do not attend church. It is dire that in order to be a good witness that we start out with a firm foundation in our own beliefs. This is something that as Christians, I would really like to see everyone taking much more seriously. Not only for their own sake; but also in order to become better witnesses. But God condemned them long ago, and their destruction will not be delayed. When we display our righteous deeds, they are nothing but filthy rags.
Like autumn leaves, we wither and fall, and our sins sweep us away like the wind. So, what does God say can save us and send us to heaven when we die? The way to receive this spiritual transformation is described in Romans For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.
But, you might ask, where does Christian living come in, which you said earlier is so important.
The answer is that we live a Christian lifestyle in obedience to the Bible, not to be saved, but because we are saved. Recently Carolyn and I celebrated our 37 th anniversary. We did a few special things, not so that we could love each other and become married, but because we already love each other and are married.
Likewise, we love and serve Jesus because we are saved and love Him, not to become saved.
