When I first read these way back when they were first published, I was looking forward to the next in the series, as the plot lines could have gone in many directions. My only disappointment is, like many other readers, there were no more. They would make a great movie.

I read the three of them, one after the other, keen to keep reading to find out what would happen next.

Don McQuinn

The Rose Priestess Sylah knows that she has to leave her friends in order to take up the responsibility bequeathed by her late Abbess. Sylah is in search of the mystical Door, foretold by legend to hold the knowledge of the ancients. Donnacee and Matt have their own mission: Technocrats, trying to survive in a place where forging steel was the peak of technology.

In order to continue one, Sylah must meet with the Chair, the ruler of the most secretive and dangerous kingdom known to the people of the Three Territories. They have to cross the Dry, a great desert which is home to nomads and raiders. On the other side, if they can make it, is the legendary Door. Can Sylah find it, and harness its power? Will the Door be both a key to the past, and to the future? And just who will survive the journey?

I continue to enjoy this series, with its dual storyline and strong characters. But I will start reading them soon: I need to know what will happen next in the rich, multi-layered world that Mr McQuinn has created.

Savage Garden - To The Moon & Back (Extended Version)

I was offered, and accepted, a free Kindle copy of Books 4 to 6. This continuation from the first 3 books was every bit as good as the original 3.

Every time I re-find your book in my massive unorganized library I dust it off and make sure all the black is still on the white, then search for the other two. I was very happy to come across this new format, and re-release of Warrior, Wander, and Witch.

The Path Of Confusion

I don't want to bore you with a restated synopsis of the plot - others can do that better than I could. But I will say that this series has really made me think about some deeper issues - namely the nature of society and how small things can turn into bigger things. How trivia becomes dogma. Throw in an apocalyptic event and there's all sorts of twisty turny drama that becomes possible. Like the first set, the writing and pacing of these books are both top notch.

I really feel as though McQuinn is hitting his stride with the middle portion of his saga.

Product description

It's clear he has invested a lot of time and care in his story, which sets this series apart from the insta-novels you see so much of lately. These books continue the saga of Gan Moondark, in a post apocalyptic world, the saga encompassing books 1 thru 6 is engaging, characters to like and others to loathe. The saga continues in books 7 -9 so I will not give the story away.
