    • Definitely worth the time! Can you make it to the top? Augustine Lighthouse rises feet above sea level and contains steps that are climbed by visitors. At the top, the original, first order Fresnel lens still serves the beacon, but today is lit by a watt bulb, and maintained by the museum and volunteers. Beautiful views on our sister island.

    The lighthouse has a rich history and is beloved in our city. The St Augustine Lighthouse is a great place to go maybe once.

    Admission is pricey and there's nothing really to see other than walking up to the top and then walking back down. If you're looking for a great view of the town and some fun, come to the lighthouse! Make it all the way up to the top if you can.

    It's a rewarding experience! Great place and view. I did the Moon Rise Sun Set tour on the full moon They used to give a champagne toast and sweets. A little ways to walk up but definitely worth it once you reach the top! Great for families or even a date night. An interesting place and much more than just climbing up the lighthouse for the view. There are extensive exhibitions outside and in the lighthouse keeper's house and a fantastic gift shop.

    The view from the top, once you climb the daunting staircase those with a fear of heights best avoid this , is simply amazing. Besides beautiful view, you can look at everyday objects of the lighthouse keepers.

    Near the exit there is the device through which you can see the people at the top of the lighthouse. Definitely check out the Lighthouse Festival. But good luck climbing the lighthouse if you're out of shape! From the top of the lighthouse you can see historic downtown and the surrounding beaches. Great view, great place, quite a walk up the stairs but it is worth once you are up there. Nice breeze while up there during my visit.
