The mother seems to sense that, and she shuts her eyes and turns away from me. With a clearing of his throat, the man in the cowboy hat pushes himself up from his chair. He introduces the mother, the boy, and then himself.
I step forward and crouch to look through the bag, doing the quick math in my head. The silver jewelry is nice—beads, old stampworked bracelets, a few small squash blossoms—even if the turquoise is sort of junk, missing the spidery veins that make the rocks worth big trade.
I can exchange the silver for goods at the markets in Tse Bonito, but the turquoise is useless, no more than pretty blue stones. A loud grunt and the brother pushes his chair back. The metal feet screech across the tile in protest.

Ryan wants Elle as soon as she comes into his office but he holds back. Not goo 4 star I was pulled right into this story. Not good to mix business with pleasure. But the chemistry between these two is hot and only getting hotter the more they touch. Or will they end up breaking all the rules and getting a little sweating together? I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I recommend this book. What a great small town romance. The plot was great and was drawn in from the start. Ryan and Elle have amazing chemistry when they are together. I also love that the heroine is not a small perfect girl. I love how she is average size and has flaws. I was hoping to read about Ryan and Elle snowed in I hope we get to read about others in the town of Sweetbriar.

This story is about Elle and Ryan in a small town in Missouri , my home state. There were ups and downs, misunderstandings and moments you want to scream. There are funny spots and spots where you want both of them to win.
Elle is a lawyer who's plan is to not stay there, however through the book she falls in love with Ryan, gains friends and loves the little town.

It is a more lighthearted story, but it is packed with plenty of steamy romance and enough sweaty drama I needed a gym analogy, hehe. That left only two items on her life-goal checklist. Live happily ever after. I believe this is Rebecca Jenshak's first novel and I can't wait to see what she has in store for the residents of Sweetbriar Lake!

Elle moves to Sweetbriar to get away from her cheating ex and makes plans to show him what he's missing out on and win him back. But ends up meeting Ryan and falling for him hard and fast. I never expected some of the surprises that happened in the book to happen that happened and that definitely added to the excitement while reading the book.
Overall I enjoyed the book and would definitely recommend this book to others to read. Jul 21, Brandi rated it really liked it. Elle was the girl who had her life mapped out. Make partner and start a family with her boyfriend were very real attainable goals.

This was a cute little love story. It had ups and downs and seriously made me question anyone named Brock. He was a douchebag of epic proportions. If you are looking for a sweet romantic love story this is a good book for you.

Sep 29, Krista Richardson rated it it was amazing. I really, really enjoyed this book! Elle really grew in to herself and it was great being there with her. Ryan is just a sweetheart but most of all, normal.
The guy, Ryan, is good looking, hard working and in need of the right woman to understand him. Anyway a happy reading dance of joy ensued and the rest as they say…is history. When she knows she must see him again he wants to look her best. There are potentially some decent ideas here but these appear undeveloped. There are giant bats and mammoths.
