For Kyouhei Touma, she was careful to note various details of his appearance depending on the setting of the scene. In particular, his hair was the most difficult to draw. She just knows and there is definitely, in my opinion, more stuff stirring underneath what is in the surface and I like that.
The scene near the end I am not used to seeing it but I am itching to pick up the rest except only volume 2 was at the book store. Time to hunt ladies. Sometimes, feelings get you so confused that you don't know what to do. That's what happens to Kaya in this volume. She's a smart young woman, who makes a wonderful secretary for Director Kyohei. But, it's obvious that she has fallen head-over-heels for him. She's tired of seeing women streaming in-and-out of his office, with none of them--even her--being anything more to Kyohei than just a constant and consistent food source.
So, Kaya files for a transfer away from the man who will never retu Sometimes, feelings get you so confused that you don't know what to do. She swears that that she will never return to her prior position in his office, but rushes to his apartment when told that he needs blood, willing to give him her blood, body, and heart.
At a time when so much seems to be at stake, can both just open up to one another, and express how they truly feel about each other? Or, will they each let the other slip away forever?
Kaya thinks she’s come to terms with being a vampire’s secretary, until she overhears Kyohei call her “just food.”. To keep her work from suffering any more, Kyohei’s older brother arranges a long-term transfer for Kaya. Or will her feelings for Kyohei continue to burn in. Midnight Secretary, Vol. 02 has ratings and 72 reviews. Kaya thought she had found the perfect job when she became the private secretary of Kyouhei.
All opinions expressed here are my own. I mean, it's kind of sort of interesting? It's just a boss x secretary story with a vampiric twist. Nothing to write home about. I can tolerate the characters? I don't want to slap them silly, but then again, I find myself rolling my eyes a little too often, even for me. The art is pretty, but is there much else to the content here?
I suppose I should just be grateful that it isn't total instalove. I think I might be better o Yeah I think I might be better off setting this one aside.
The amount of ambivalence I feel just tells me I should probably quit while I'm ahead. Apr 30, Eloisa Mendoza rated it liked it. This manga series is kind of addictive. I currently only have volumes 1 and 2.
I need the other volumes asap. I ordered the rest of the series, but sadly have to wait for them to arrive. I felt like we got to learn more about Kaya and Kyohei in this second volume. This definitely had more mature content then the first volume. Kyohei's attitude just annoyed me.
I understand why he acts the way he did, but he just comes out looking like a unappreciative jerk who gets all possessive when he has no business acting that way. It seems like he's making a turn around towards the end of the book, at least, so I hope it keeps up. Well this was an interesting one. And there's the whole mixed signals going on its ridiculous. I kept thinking, OMG communicate will you? Then of course we have the title drop. And its only volume 2. Already the story is moving forward isn't it? Oct 18, Mara rated it really liked it. I am definitely a fan of this series.
I like how there are still mysteries around the characters, though the plot is pretty much set.
There are still struggles and I'm sure there are story points that will emerge to add plot twists. I like the graphics and the fact that this volume like the first did not take too long to read. I'm looking forward to what other adventures lie ahead for the two main characters. Jun 10, Jessica rated it it was amazing.
I was sad when she left the position of personal secretary, but come not she won't be back! I really like that he's softening a bit, but it's starting to remind me of Twilight Dec 31, Patience Perry rated it it was amazing. Finally logging this in right before the new year ends. May 02, Ella rated it liked it. My opinion still stands that the Director is a complete jerk to his secretary, but I can see that everything is starting to get a bit more interesting than usual.

But Tohma isn't willing to let her go that easily and Satozuka herself is starting to realize just how much she needs her boss back. Volume 2 finishes what I consider the 'introduction' arc that establishes Satozuka's and Tohma's relationship. She realizes her feelings for the cagey vampire and he realizes pride is a stupid reason to lose the most valuable thing to ever come into his life. A chance encounter with Tohma's mother will also give Satozuka more insight into the vampire and why he is so difficult with humans like herself.
In future volumes, their relationship will be tested as outside forces come to play and major players begin to force Tohma's hand. Tomu Ohmi's artwork is perhaps not as nuanced as her contemporaries but she does know how to tell an interesting and mature read: I am looking forward to volume 3 as the meat of the story begins to unfold.
Received as an ARC from the publisher. This volume starts out with Kaya still performing her duties as Kyohei's secretary as well as his sometime blood source. She can't seem to keep herself from falling for him which causes her quite a bit of emotional turmoil. She does her best to bury her feelings, but after Masaki finds out Kaya knows Kyohei's secret, he approaches her and gives her the option to end her position as Kyohei's executive secretary.
I like how there are still mysteries around the characters, though the plot is pretty much set. But it is a long talk with Tohma's older brother that convinces Satozuka her position with Tohma is unhealthy - and she finds herself transferred to a subsidiary company at his behest. However when his brother confronts her about it, her emotional turmoil over him causes her to change positions in the company. I need the other volumes asap. See if you have enough points for this item.
He's got problems of his own, though. It seems that Kyohei has a bit of an attachment to Kaya, though he won't admit it. Vampire pride is a hell of a thing. He gets pissed when Masaki removes Kaya as his secretary, but he isn't any happier when he finds out that Kaya requested it. He isn't very nice to her after that and yet, he doesn't really leave her alone even when he tells her to stay out of his sight.
He leaves her, but still consider her his. He doesn't like it when she's performing secretarial duties for someone else. Kaya's heart continues to be in turmoil, but she accepts the fact that she's in love with Kyohei. When it's brought to her attention that Kyohei hasn't been feeding properly and working himself to exhaustion, she goes to him her blood.
His pride won't let him accept it at first, but Kaya soon makes sure that he can't refuse. And she gets herself a very nice night. That was seriously hot. IT seems that Kaya will be returning to work as Kyohei's secretary, but only at night. Things should continue to be pretty interesting. Kaya is getting so caught up in her feelings for Kyohei.
On the other hand Kyohei is running from his, in total denial. Also, there was some actual smut in this volume, and that was nice. Their whole characters and dynamic is refreshing to me, I guess, since I see so much more of the weak, malleable heroine. Jun 11, Allison rated it it was amazing Shelves: I need a love like this Why the man of my dreams has to be in a manga? This is the second volume in the series and the relationship between Kaya and Kyohei continues.
Kaya deals with feelings she didn't realize she had though logically knows she "shouldn't" have and Kyohei is hot and cold. There were some interesting things revealed in this book about vampires and the Tohma brother's mother appearing. But at the end of the book I'm reminded of why I don't read Manga so much anymore - the fact that we don't really get a full "story" in one book and I'm impatient.
At least this series is complete at only seven volumes thankfully so it won't require waiting for the next book except that my library only had the first two. It was however an enjoyable read well mostly - aside from those times I wanted to smack Kyohei. Feb 03, Joti rated it really liked it.
