And he said unto the people, Be ready against the third day: And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled. And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at the nether part of the mount. Now it may well be that the , sealed Jews are all male virgins having never been with a woman.
It could be that they are all female virgins. Or perhaps half of them male virgins and the other half female virgins. My main point is that they do not have to be "virgins" in the strictest sense of the word, but rather abstaining from having sex with their wives. I have some more thoughts on this that I will share later but first I want you to read more of the context. This simply means that they were found perfect before God. But it may also mean that they are standing before the throne of God. The literal reads that they are in sight of the throne of God. The way that I myself see the year reign of Jesus is that the church ONLY receives eternal life AT the second coming of Jesus and we will rule with Jesus over Israel, which may include the , along with more of Israel called the remnant of Israel.
Either way, I see the church ruling with Jesus over Israel and those left of the nations. And prophecy teaches us that those who are left of the nations will be Muslims of the seed of Ishmael and of the seed of Esau.
The phrase every nation and tribe and tongue and people appears with variations throughout the Revelation. Why and how did they get sealed? A sickle is an ancient instrument of the harvest. The nature of the suffering believers will experience during the final days of the Day of the Lord warrants special attention for them. The "golden crown"
Now again those who are left alive of the nations will most likely include others who are not Muslims. Those who are left alive of the nations will be of every race and tongue who call upon the name of the Lord to be saved.
Let us move on to the next two verses. Now let us read Revelation 14, verses 6 and 7 together with emphasis placed on certain words. The gospel has always been preached to humans who dwell on the earth. Please read Revelation I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
This tells me that the New Jerusalem or the city of God will either being in outer space orbiting the earth or suspended up in the sky over the ruined city Jerusalem during the year reign of Jesus. I am seeing that we will travel to and from the city of God in the air down to the surface of the earth to preach the everlasting Gospel. Or it may be that only the , sealed Jews are allowed to travel up to the city in the sky to receive the gospel as disciples and that they will preach the gospel during the Millennium.
And then in Revelation 8: And we have learned that the last half of God's wrath will be poured out at the END of the year reign of Jesus. So again, we know from other verses that God lifts his wrath lest all flesh be destroyed. The first shall be last and the last shall be first. Only it will be too late for them to be saved, as in, to be given eternal life at this point in time of the coming of Jesus. So they will be saved alive in their mortal bodies to be taught of the Lord during the Millennium. They have to make it through the hour of God's wrath first before the Millennium begins.
This tells me that the power that is behind or is influencing this kingdom, great city Babylon, has been toppled and is now fallen.
The feminine "SHE and HER" as being a WOMAN seems to always refer to mankind or the church r a religious system, but in this case, I believe it is speaking of the wicked, who have vexed the righteous like Lot was vexed by the wicked in his day. And what seems to be future is actually the final judgment of the lake of fire. I do not believe that God would neglect anything that he saw to be wise and benevolent, in the great matter of man's salvation. Who can believe that he could give his only-begotten and well-beloved Son to die for sinners, and then neglect any wise and benevolent means for their salvation?
No, sinner, if you are a reprobate, it is because God foresaw that you would do just as you are doing; that you would be so wicked as to defeat all the efforts that he could wisely, make for your salvation. What a variety of means he has used with you. At one time he has thrown you into the furnace of affliction; and when this has not softened you, he has turned round and loaded you with favours. He has sent you his word, he has striven by his Spirit, he has allured you by the cross; he has tried to melt you by the groanings of Calvary; and tried to drive you back from the way to death, by rolling in your ears the thunders of damnation.
At one time clouds and darkness have been round about you; the heavens have thundered over your head; divine vengeance has hung out, all around your horizon, the portentous clouds of coming wrath. At another time mercy has smiled upon you from above like the noon-day sun, breaking through an ocean of storms. He urges every motive; he lays heaven, earth and hell, under perpetual contributions for considerations to move your stony heart.
But you deafen your ears, and close your eyes, and harden your heart, and say, 'Cause the holy one of Israel to cease from before us [Isaiah How must all this end? Finney's " Systematic Theology " New Window. Three words stand out in verse patience, Commandments, and faith. First, the "patience of the Saints" Patience comes only from the "trying of your faith" James 1: Second, keeping the "Commandments of God" Resisting fidelity to the Antichrist by refusing his mark is an act of the Tribulation Saints' loving obedience to the Commandment, "Thou shalt have no other gods before Me" Exodus And, finally, the "faith of Jesus" Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.
Verse 13 speaks of a retrospective, referring to a time before the Pre-Wrath Rapture, where there are still Tribulation Saints awaiting martyrdom or Rapture. The encouragement is true for all Saints throughout history, but is especially necessary for those who will be martyred, reminding them of the Eternal Blessedness of those that "resist stedfast in the faith" 1Peter 5: Later, we are told that those Martyred Tribulation Saints will be numbered among those who will rule and reign with Christ during the Millennium.
A fugitive knows no rest; and, those Tribulation Saints who are not caught after they are converted, will be Pre-Wrath Raptured. And they ascended up to Heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them" Revelation Rest is a luxury that belongs only to those who are beyond the reach of their pursuers. These martyred "dead which die in the LORD" O grave, where is thy victory? Not simply rest, but "great recompence of reward" Hebrews Here, the Apostle John is directed to gaze upon a white cloud, and "upon the cloud One sat like unto the Son of Man" Painters often depict God surrounded with clouds.
Righteousness and Judgment are the habitation of His Throne" Psalm Scripture describes the Almighty as: The "golden crown" He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: Harvest festivals in Old Testament Israel took place in both the spring and fall. The Seven Feasts of Israel prophetically forecast and outline the main events of Israel's relation to Jehovah" from our article, " The Appointed Times " New Window , which describes the festivals, their relationship to past and future prophetic events, and boldly asserted a now past May 31, Rapture date.
John the Beloved informs us that "He that sat on the cloud thrust in His sickle on the Earth; and the Earth was reaped" Revelation It may be difficult for the human mind to imagine, but the Almighty's judgment of the Earth is in keeping with the Eternal Law of Love. Not so strange to say, but the Eternal God only demands of man what He is willing to give Himself. And, the righteous demand of God's Moral Law has always been supreme love and consideration for God for it is only right and fitting and an equal love of our neighbour as ourselves.
A great failure of Professed Christianity, is not to properly distinguish between the two kinds of love-- disinterested benevolence and complacent love -- that God employs in the administration of His vast Moral Government.
David Guzik commentary on Revelation 14 describes the proclamation of an angel from heaven, preaching the gospel, and the defeat of the beast. Study the bible online using commentary on Revelation 14 and more! As the fourteenth chapter begins with the , of Israel (compare Revelation
The nineteenth century American evangelist Charles G. Finney used the terms disinterested benevolence and the love of complacency to make the distinction. The good will of God towards man is disinterested free of bias or self-interest benevolence in that "while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" Romans 5: Further, the term complacent love or the love of complacency has virtually lost its meaning in the 21st Century. Complacent or complacency now has the negative connotation of being self-satisfied or unconcerned, while the nineteenth century used the term complacent to encompass the positive idea of resting in a satisfied way upon something.
Scripturally, God manifests complacent love towards only the Godly, i.
And, when man demonstrates True Obedience to God, it is the love of complacency, for man is then demonstrating his satisfaction with the character of the God that he obeyed. It is appropriate, then, to say that God loves complacently only those who love and obey Him.
Then, to equate the love of God, i. But, since "all men have not faith" 2Thessalonians 3: They may have missed rewards of this earth, but this and other passages of the Word indicate they will receive just reward in the next life, and that will last for eternity. Admittedly states Tim LaHaye, this interpretation places me in the minority among commentators of the book of Revelation. With due respect to faithful interpreters of God who have sought the Holy Spirit for their interpretation, the above is not presently dogmatically, but prayerfully, with the desire that it be given consideration.
Not sinless, but sanctified see Eph. This verse says it plainly. They spoke the truth, not watered down. They did not waver in their decision to follow Jesus. Their face was set toward heaven and they did not look back. Positively, it focuses on the redemption through Christ and the coming of His kingdom. Negatively, it has three parts: The announcement here anticipates later events. Verse 6 introduces the first of five angels who convey a special message concerning the middle of the end time, that is, in the Great Tribulation period. It is astounding that an angel is commissioned to go forth preaching the everlasting gospel, for the preaching of the gospel has not been committed to angels but to human beings.
This astounding state of affairs can only be an indication of the severity of the circumstances. If we keep in view the setting of this passage, we will be able to understand readily why this will be necessary. Prior to the Tribulation, the Church will have been Raptured. This angel will warn the people to fear God instead of Antichrist, and to give glory to God instead of Antichrist, and he will instruct them how to do it.
Otherwise, he would be proclaiming a message of doom instead of good news. The Greek word translated "gospel" euangelion , literally means "good news," and the only way we can offer people eternal good news is to show them how to receive the Lord Jesus Christ by faith.
A message concerning the judgment of God is only a partial presentation of the gospel of Christ. The complete story of the gospel not only clarifies that all human beings are sinners, but also includes God's remedy for sin through Christ, who "died for our sins according to the Scriptures, was buried and was raised on the third day. From a Greek term denoting the point in the noonday sky where the sun reaches its zenith. This is the highest and brightest point, where all can see and hear. The angel is preaching the good news concerning eternal life and entrance into the kingdom of God compare Matt.
He is urging the people of the world to change their allegiance from the beast to the Lamb. It is also called in the New Testament the gospel of God, the gospel of grace, the gospel of Christ, the gospel of peace, the glorious gospel, and the gospel of the kingdom.
It is good news that God saves by the forgiveness of sin and opens His kingdom to all who will repent and believe. The whole world will hear this preaching by the angel as God graciously calls all to salvation. Is this a different gospel from that preached today? On the basis of the Word of God, absolutely not!
This is the same gospel as we preach, the same message that was "once for all entrusted to the saints" Jude 3. Not Satan, nor Antichrist. This is the theme of Scripture, calling people to give honor, glory, worship, and reverence to God compare Prov. Creation is the great proof of God, which preachers will appeal to as the ground for all people to believe in Him and worship Him compare 4: This message that is brought will be final in its nature.
It will be good news gospel , but it will also be a last warning. This is a final warning to turn from the world to the Creator of it all. Lord is coming", will be the cry.
This message will be worldwide. Remember an angel is a ministering spirit.
These will be evangelists. One more time I say this is the final warning that judgement is about to fall. Jesus is Creator God. The , Israelite witnesses from all over the world will be converted through the printed page left behind by the departing church. These witnesses will harvest a multitude that no one can number Rev.
This indicates that the early days of the Tribulation will experience the greatest revival in world history. Remember when we first discussed the , in chapter seven; they first had to be sealed. Why and how did they get sealed? The same way we are sealed, by accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
The extent of this gospel should be noted, for it will be preached "to those who live on the earth, to every nation, tribe, language and people". Here is what is said about that in;. This is why I don't believe that this must be done before the rapture, but before the second coming. This seems to be God's last offer to humankind to flee the wrath to come before they accept Antichrist. We have already seen that Antichrist and the False Prophet will mount a great campaign, after having killed the prostitute, the ecumenical Babylonian church and will seek to get everyone to worship Antichrist.
This blasphemous idolatry will forfeit anyone's claim to eternal life; thus all will be eternally lost.
But as a prelude to that decision, the angel of Rev. Again, Revelation is not written in consecutive order. I do believe there will be a voice going throughout the land proclaiming the second coming of Christ, just as there was a voice John the Baptist , proclaiming His first arrival as Christ.
The people will be warned. They will be without excuse. God will have a herald going forth proclaiming truth. Everyone will have their opportunity to accept Jesus as Lord. The Fall of Religious Babylon. This is the world system that opposed the church and the Christians. This evil world system did all in her power to stop Christianity. This power and the one causing small and great to receive the mark could be one and the same. At any rate, it has fallen here. Babylon, in the physical is in Iraq. Babylon refers to the entire worldwide political, economic, and religious kingdom of Antichrist compare The original city of Babylon was the birthplace of idolatry where the residents built the Tower of Babel, a monument to rebelliousness and false religion.
Note again here, that just before this world system folds, the gospel will be preached unto all nations, as we read above and in Matthew: Here in this, God has said this is enough, and the World and its evil followers fall. This fornication is spiritual adultery, not physical. This pictures Babylon causing the world to become intoxicated with her pleasures and enter an orgy of rebellion, hatred, and idolatry toward God.
Destruction is predicted for both because they will cause people to drink of the wine of the wrath of their fornication. We may understand that this fore glimpse refers to religious Babylon because it takes place in the Great Tribulation. The destruction of the literal city of Babylon is found in Rev. That the city of Babylon will be rebuilt and become the commercial center of the world is seen from such passages in Isaiah chapters 13 and 14; Jeremiah chapters 50 and As the city of Babylon has never been destroyed according to the Old Testament predictions; thus, we can only conclude that it will be rebuilt and become the commercial center of Antichrist's kingdom; then it will be destroyed at the end of the Great Tribulation.
This again points to the fact that Babylon will become the center of the world. This "Babylon" that "is fallen" here is not a literal city. One more time I say this is the final warning that judgment is about to fall. They will pay the eternal price of having chosen Satan and evil over God and righteousness. The third angel, will pronounce doom on the worshipers of Antichrist during the Great Tribulation period.
We studied before about the mark of the beast. The number put in your forehead or right hand, seals the person receiving it as belonging to the beast. Just as God the Father's name is on the , and Jesus Christ's name is on the Christians, these who take the mark of the beast are sealed with the devil's number which is The antichrist system is a counterfeit of the trinity of God.
