Our new suite-style coed residence halls are designed for your comfort, convenience, and safety. These four-story buildings feature the usual amenities plus air conditioning, carpeting, and a bathroom shared by you and one other student.
Ship's Living-Learning Communities can be found here, which add to the uniqueness of each hall. Shippensburg University allows you to pick your own roommates and rooms.
Ship gives you innovative ways to meet other students, find roommates, and select rooms yourself through our online housing portal in MyHousing. Ship also allows students to complete room changes after the second week of classes each semester and throughout the year as needed.
The group's representative is able to accept housing on the entire group's behalf. There are microwaves in the first floor lounge of each residence hall. All students who leave campus without a housing assignment will be notified of their housing by the end of July. Take a virtual suite tour now! If you live in one of these areas and are interested in staying on campus during spring break please notify your Resident Assistant. Total group points of 7, divide by 3 people in the group, get group score of 2. How will I select with a Group of Students:
Traditional Rising Second Year Students are required to live in university housing for Fall and Spring so your housing deposit is waived for you! Rising Second Years have a separate selection process from Upperclassmen and choose from designated second year communities, with the best selection number starting at 5, If you are selecting by yourself and you are unable to select during your selection times, you may fill out a proxy form. More information about the proxy form will be provided closer to selection.
If you are selecting in a group another member of your group may select for you. You are guaranteed housing for Fall Because so many Northeastern students participate in study abroad or co-op opportunities outside of the Boston area, we can anticipate a number of cancellations and manage available space through PAWS. If you do not select a room during the first selection process, you will participate in the PAWS process. You can opt in to this process by completing the Placement Form on your Housing Online.
We will continue to process cancellations and manage available space throughout May and June on an on-going basis, then housing staff will work with you, utilizing the information from your Placement Form to find the best match. The more patience you have with this process, the better able we are to make as close a match as possible. In order for our staff to use your preferences to complete your placement, please be thorough in your responses. After Secondary Selection occurs, the Housing Staff will process each Placement Form in housing selection number order.
If you had the best second year selection number 5, , your choices might look like the options listed for Rising Second years only, and Mixed. While this is a good place to start, the Vacancy Viewer on your Housing Online will be the best place to see what is available TO YOU, meaning it will show you the rooms for your class year, gender, etc. The Vacancy Viewer, is a live feed during selection, so as rooms are chosen they disappear from the viewer.
Honors housing can be selected during your selection date and time. Please note that if you put your form in after applications are due, there will be limited availability.
December 3 - Spring Housing Selection Form submission deadline at 8AM when additional rooms are made available for selection in the second week of. New and returning students can apply for housing for the spring semester. All students must request each other and apply by December 2 in order to consider.
The following processes begin once the online housing selection process has ended in April and continues through July. Waitlist forms are used for students who did not receive their first choice in housing accommodations or who do not select housing through any of the housing selection processes. All full-time students are guaranteed housing for all four years at Gettysburg but some students will leave campus in May not knowing where they will be living in the fall.
This situation occurs each year because in the spring we assign housing to upperclass students who in the summer decide to take leaves of absence, withdraw, or transfer.
Students who do not select housing will be required to complete a Housing Waitlist Form. As spaces become available housing is assigned using the information collected on the waitlist forms that students completed before leaving campus for the summer.
All students who leave campus without a housing assignment will be notified of their housing by the end of July. Due to its residency requirement, Gettysburg College guarantees housing for all full-time students. This means that a student, upon notification, may be reassigned to another space on campus. The information below is for the housing selection processes that occurred during the spring semester for the academic year.
