I think this is her first novel. I could be wrong. I tend to be a little less engaged in stories when I just don't have the time to read them. Unfortunately, this is what happened this week.
I'm a fast reader and I sit down for hours and read for big chunks of time. I just didn't do that this week and so I felt that it First of all, way to go, J C, for writing a novel. I just didn't do that this week and so I felt that it ruined it for me a little bit. I need big blocks of time to read. The story was interesting and I thought the setting was a great choice.
I wish that there'd been some more character development though. I sense that we will get this in the next book. I ended up loving the male lead character and found myself wanting to hear more from him. The alternating POVs was an interesting addition but I sometimes wished that the time periods weren't changing as well. I liked how they came together in the end.
