Mar 10, Heather rated it it was amazing Shelves: This is such a common-sense and easy to read book. Whenever I feel sorry for myself, I re-read it. It's like advice given by a wise friend to help you to put your life into perspective. I've bought at least four copies for friends.
I have a copy on my bookshelf and one on my book reader. Aug 12, Ali rated it it was amazing. Loved this book, whenever I need inspiration I re read it again and it gives me a boost. Oct 26, Elena Schalkowski rated it really liked it Shelves: Paul McGee suggests many tables and structures how it could be possible to create an amazing life.
Most of them are clear and you can think like: He also tells his own experience, his up and downs, his failures, his success. I enjoyed reading the book. I could categorize many things I already new into the subject matter. When I think about what Paul writes about I get just pictures in my head from the book.
The book itself is very interactive and it is very helpful. A lovely book worth reading! Feb 16, Tim rated it did not like it.
I was made to read this at the request of a previous employer, admittedly I've never found self help books useful but this one in particular was the death knell to me for the whole genre. I'm not the target audience and if you have a proclivity for these sorts of things then maybe your life will be changed forever, mine was but only for the worse.
I wouldn't even bother pirating the free eBook let alone paying actual money for it. Apr 02, Catherine Jeffrey rated it really liked it Shelves: I have been meaning to read this for a while now. I heard the author speak at a conference a few years ago so this was a useful revision guide. Mar 11, Mike Peleah rated it really liked it Shelves: Easy written, common sense book, with very relevant questions to self and practical exercises. I borrowed couple of practices and put in daily use. This book and it's model have made a huge impact on my life - using the framework given and regularly reviewing against my own personal Success criteria and goals has helped me feel I am the creator of my destiny rather than a victim of circumstance.
I'm a long way from having the balanced life I am trying to create but I am no longer a consumer of books to try and get me there. I have a good framework for challenging my internal undermining voices that works for me. If you like pink and fluffy This book and it's model have made a huge impact on my life - using the framework given and regularly reviewing against my own personal Success criteria and goals has helped me feel I am the creator of my destiny rather than a victim of circumstance. If you like pink and fluffy this approach is not for you.
If you need and want a kick up the arse and you want something that with a couple of hours of investment a month will help you change I would recommend it's no nonsense approach. I have before and since read much that is placed on the self help shelves, but I incorporate ideas from other models in this overarching plan if they fit, and I use the models put forward by the other books to help work with people around change management because the SUMO approach is one you need to invest in for yourself, whilst the others tend to be useful as explanations for behaviors.

Powerful, simple n effective. A highly engaging n thought provoking book.
Anyone who reads it is sure to look at themselves n the world differently as a result. McGee warns you of your tendency to believe that what you see is reality, that if you deny the negative you will block the road to positive recovery, n that your emotions are clouding the view to your solution. In fact a big part of S. Buku ini membahas tentang 6 prinsip SUMO: Pahami Bagaimana kemunduruan mempengaruhi Anda dan bagaimana agar pulih dari kemunduran tersebut.
Nikmatilah waktu kuda nil anda. Tingkatkan pemahaman dan kesadaran mengenai dunia orang lain. Perubahan datang bersama tindakan, bukan dengan niat Mari belajar bahasa Latin 6.
Ciptakan masa depan kita sendiri Singkirkan Doris Day. Nov 20, Nicky Tate rated it did not like it. It's a witty and well-written little book but it felt very insubstantial. It took about an hour to finish. The advice wasn't bad; but it seemed somewhat obvious, a little stretched out to fill the pages and the whole left me rather unmoved. Windy Dryden's 10 Steps to Positive Living is a more intelligent and detailed take on a similar theme, with similar solutions offered; and far more engaging and persuasive.
I've always dismissed self-help books as only having the purpose of raising money for the author. To be fair to Paul McGee he does admit he wrote this book in part to raise his profile, so hell, at least he's honest. Recommended by a work colleague, this was a surprisingly insightful guide to making the most of life. Easy to read and digest with some darn good advice that I'm determined to put into practice. Mar 30, Andy Lopata rated it it was amazing.
After months sitting on my bookshelf, I devoured this book in 24 hours. This is a short and practical guide to creating the right mindset to live a successful and fulfilling life. It's a blend of some science but not too much , personal stories, clear direction, good humour and Bradford City ok, so no book is perfect. Oct 04, Akanksha rated it really liked it. The simple and lucid style of writing makes it readily understandable..
The personal short stories gives an insight in how to deal with the problems using the approach mentioned in the book.. Jun 20, Jamie rated it did not like it. Get ready to SUMO and enjoy the ride. It's a very quick and easy read. I like the way the author throws in a "personal stuff" section in each chapter where he illustrates his point with a personal story. I also liked the summary at the end of each chapter. This book does well what it intends to do and I enjoyed reading it. It's not a great book because there is nothing new here if you are well versed in decent self-help literature, but it is a very good presentation of a good system.
