This led to a very exciting and energetic poster session and increased visibility for all papers. Th e short talks were extremely well-received, and very great thanks are due to Siddhartha Srinivasa, the Short Talk Organizer, who collated all the presentations and ensured the talks went smoothly.
Thirdly, robotics is a fast-moving field. Th e paper and workshop processes do not always make it easy to anticipate new topics that people would like to talk about. To give ourselves a forum for in-depth discussion on topics that come up during the conference, we created an "open session" on the last day. Throughout the first two days of the conference, attendees were able to propose a discussion they would like to lead.
All participants were free to join any of the discussion sessions, to hear what others are thinking and provide their own ideas in an informal setting. Our hope is that the open sessions will continue in the future as a form of ad hoc workshops that show more of what we are all thinking about in the moment. Lastly, Paul Newman and Dylan Shell organised a video session for the pre-dinner cocktail hour before the banquet.
Polished and highly professional videos are of course the hallmark of robotics, and Paul and Dylan were able to get videos from the community that kept us greatly entertained. R was a big success thanks to the efforts of many people.
