Crowded at lunch, so make a reservation. A real go-to place for us at work. The food was very good, and so was the service. The price was fair because we ordered drinks and a couple of courses. Unfortunately the room was so loud that we had to use raised voices the whole time just to be heard across our small table. Really, it was necessary to shout.
This was an unpleasant experience and an unsuitable environment for the business we wanted to conduct. The restaurant is very nice but the service was the best part. Extremely great service from server to wine steward The food was also very tasty and very well prepared Will definitely return to enjoy the housemade pastas. The birthday brunch consisted of soft eggs, lemon ricotta pancakes, mimosas, and coffee. It was ALL delicious.
Great atmosphere, food, and service. Tables too close together had a party of theee next to us at s two top that were highly annoying Asked 3x for bread till I got some. Food was really good This was my second time eating here and it is now on my go-to list. Given the lack of good food around Penn Station, thank goodness for L'Amico! The room is quite loud but the food quality is exceptional and the service is outstanding. We were staying at the Kimpton Eventi and the L'Amico interior looked beautiful and the brunch menu looked interesting so we made reservations.
On Saturday L'Amico opens People were lined up outside even before the place opened. It has an open kitchen concept with a brick oven stove. Cooks were cutting fresh prosciutto that looked so fresh and delicious. We started with the cold press juices. I got the turmeric, carrot, pineapple, ginger and my husband ordered the apple, kale, spinach, cucumber, zucchini, romaine. We were a little disappointed that the juice was not made fresh on the premise but it was still very good. I ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes with blueberries and whipped lemon curd.
It looked small but was actually incredibly filling and eggy. My husband ordered the omelette souffle which were incredibly fluffy. Wished it came with some home fries though. The food was delicious and very high quality. Great menu with lots of great choices. The pizzzas looked amazing. The Brazino was cooked perfectly, the meatballs were very good. The waitstaff were friendly, helpful and attentive just enough. Unenthusiastic host gave us table and three times prodded us to order main course while we were waiting for salad.
Salad came out and waiter spilled pepper mill on to it and had to reorder. This took 15 minutes. Hostess again asks us to order main course while four people next to us each had one beer and then left without ever ordering food. We felt very rushed and pressured to finish meal.
The food is good, but the service not good I wait 30 minutes for order and I asked the waitress can I order, please? She always answered for I wait. The restaurant was full. They did push us to leave so they could have table. I eat there at least once a week for business and they treat me very kindly. There service is fast and the food is excellent— not something most expect for a business lunch. My spouse and I split two starters and a main. The octopus was perfect hard to do and served a potato salad. It was a generous helping. The avocado salad was ample, and it was fun having a perfect avocado in NYC in December.
Thebest part of dinner was the bronzino. It was boned, cooked to perfection, and served in a lemon sauce. The service was excellent. The waitress knew every dish and explained ingredients when asked. The food was so delicious with lovely presentation.
This is definitely a favorite restaurant of mine. Service staff was very helpful with ordering. Good location if you're with people that need to get back to Penn station. We stumbled across this restaurant after shopping and thankfully it was early so we were seated without reservations the first time. Wonderful food, great wine list, awesome wait staff. Service was okay, not great. But the food was very good.
The tartufo was outstanding. Great food and ambiance! Wine took so long To come To the table. Table was for two and not for three. Parmisan cheese for the pasta was asked and never came Disapointed. Last year was waaaay better.
Waiter made excellent recommendations for vegetarian in party. Ricotta ravioli on par with the best in the City.

Food was excellent and service was top notch! Great food, great service, nice mix of high-low wine list. Great finner With a friend. That will change now.
