As a previous reviewer mentioned, Nora is not even likable. Her blind trust and naivety is nauseating, and will annoy many modern readers. The only reason readers may experience any sympathy from her is because she's a foil to her husband Jeff, who has not one likable characteristic to his name. I don't want to seem like an ultra-religious fanatic from my comments. I'm really chill with many issues and topics in religion, but the upcoming issue is the only thing that makes me uncomfortable. Nora made a deal with the actual devil himself to be happy?! That and she killed her husband was what soured me to the series and I gave away the book the first chance that I could get.
She must have known what she was getting herself into. She couldn't have been oblivious, the signs were so clear. And yet, she does one of the most horrible things you could ever do to another human being. Sure, he's an ass, but that doesn't make her actions right by comparison.

Why was killing her husband the only way she could get her happily ever after? I know other people may not see this as a problem, but like me there will be those who do. Its a shame, the idea is SO cool! The idea that theres a magical channel that literally gives you what you desire and gives you the ability to interact with it. My god, if I had one of my own And with the ending note from Mrs. Small, I don't remember it very well but it only made me want to put the book on my shelf and concentrate on something else.

The ending blew my mind, I did not see it coming at all! I don't really know what it means, but I d wow! I don't really know what it means, but I do know it's not good news!!
I could not put this book down!! I found myself going back alot to re read sentences because things were worded weird I think every woman would enjoy some time in "The Channel". I'm still very curious as to the inner working of the channel.. I can't wait to dive into book 2!!

I think that some of the difficulty I had with this book was how deep the Author takes the fantasies and how dissimilar certain parts are from what I would call erotic and arousing. The premise of The Channel was interesting, and I was interested to see how it progressed. My gripe with this book is that the chapters each featuring a different woman's fantasy was loosely related to each other-each was a member of a small town. I would have preferred to either have each story be unrelated to each other or to have a more cohesive connection between each woman. The backstory that preceeded each fantasy was blah blah blah.
It co I read this book as a quick read between novels. It could have worked if there was more or less connection. Otherwise, I did enjoy the book. Bertrice Small is one of my top favorite authors and her love scenes are scorching. I don't mind the explicitness of the sex-if you are reading her work you know that is what you are in for. Her only comfort comes from her friends the women of Ansley Court who meet every Monday for cofee and gossip. Seeing Nora's desperation her friends decide its time to let her in on their secret.

I gave this book 4 stars because it was a couple of years ago and I'm sure I don't remember every detail. However, from what I do remember, I absolutely loved this book and couldn't put it down when I did read it. A while after I read it, I wanted to read it again but I could never remember the title and general Google search wasn't working.
Years later, I finally found the book again and I can't wait to read it again. I also did not know that it was a series and I am looking forward to reading I gave this book 4 stars because it was a couple of years ago and I'm sure I don't remember every detail. I know that some people feel that Nora didn't stay true to herself at the end, but I truly believe she does. She may have been naive at first but she grew and learned.
She became stronger and harder. Aside from that, no matter how sweet someone is, when it comes to their kids, there isn't much that someone wouldn't do. They take you into a world that you wouldn't have even imagined before. This set of romance novels will get your heart pounding in more ways than one. What is The Channel, and who really runs it?? That becomes quite apparent at the end. But what you get for the price you are paying for this fantasy is more than worth it! The best Bertrice Small book I've read. There is a cable channel that women can access that allows them to live out their fantasies with no regrets. I like that the main character "breaks free of her oppressor" jerk husband and gets revenge against him love revenge-books and creates the life she always dreamed of!
