Nangilid ang luha ko sa kuwentong ito! Jul 05, Andrea Shettle rated it did not like it. Originally written in Filipino, about a little girl born without feet. I do not share her particular disability so I'm not the best expert I have other disabilities, just not this one. But this book pretty much struck me as pity porn, by an author who doesn't seem to have any awareness of prosthetic feet?
Which could have allowed the girl to walk and wear shoes! This is NOT a book I recommend for people seeking good disability representation in fiction, in which disabled characters have complex and nuanced personalities that are not just about their disability and have their own agency in the story. For older readers ages 8 to 18 , check out the Disability in KidLit blog http: Unfortunately, there is not yet a similar blog on books with good disability representation for younger children.
