The cover was the one that initially attracted me and then after I read the blurb on the back, I was sold. It sounded interesting, looked interesting, so surely I thought , it can only be a good read, right?

I mist say I stared it and , although it was too early on to make a judgement, after about 10 pages or so I was kind of already bored of it Of course I didn't give up, and , besides the surprising number of times "mates" is used in dialogue, this book quickly got interesting. The captivating story kept me wanting to read more and as I got deeper so did my love for this book.
I was incredibly surprised and in a good way! It completely met my expectations and I was kind of sad when I finished reading this in two days. But I was okay with that because, unlike most of my favourite books, it doesn't leave me with wanting to know what happens next. The end is perfect and there is no sign of a cliffhanger, of course, I'd love a sequel but the story was already told so there wouldn't be much to it, unfortunately.
Still, this was a fun read and , as others said, this definitely don't be my last read form Cathy Hopkins. Really fun,girly and perfect in every way! Give it a try and I'm sure you'll love it.. This book taught me that sometimes if you look too closely at things you you miss what's right before your eyes. In this novel Jo the protagon I decided to read 'Love at second sight' as the cover caught my eye, it was in the recommended section in the library and I am a huge fan of chick flicks and romance novels. In this novel Jo the protagonist is continuously on a journey with the help of her friends to find the love of her life.
They search too much that they walk right past the guy she is destined to be with. I believe that if we look at the small details we will miss he bigger picture and Jo did this exactly. A character in this book that was interesting to me was Jo.

I believe she was too optimistic in the beginning and deep down knew something big would happen to her in the near future. I would say she gets push around by her friends a lot but I love how she is different to them. She has different interests and doesn't mind being herself. I think this is admirable in a character and it sends out a good message to the readers. The first time I saw this book it was truly love at first sight. It was because of its cover that I decided to read it and I was not at all disappointed. Normally I would hate a book iwhich has more than one love interest but that was not the case with this book. It had a nice plot and I loved Jo too but I can't say the same about Ben too.

I know that they were destined to be with each other and all but in my opinion the author should have described Ben more thoroughly. To view it, click here. When I was younger I used to really love this book but rereading I've had some issues with it. Although I love the concept it's all very fast moving, and I don't think all the aspects were explored as much as they could have been. For almost the whole book Jo is in love with Finn and after one kiss she's like nah. It's the same thing with the characters, I didn't really feel any sort of emotion towards any of them because they weren't overly personified.
I feel like this book could have been better if it was slowed down a bit and all the aspects of the fortune tellers and past lives had been explored more, and if the characters were more developed. Nonetheless I did really enjoy it, especially the visits to the different clairvoyants and the smaller, less predictable plot twists like Mrs Rayner being Daniel's daughter.

I loved the concept of the book clairvoyance, reincarnation and whatnot. That's what's got me reading it in the first place. However, I was quite disappointed with how it turned out. I felt like the story was too fast-paced that we didn't even get to know Jo's "Howard". Also, I didn't appreciate how she just moved from one guy to another. It was just such a bitch move. I just didn't feel any chemistry between Jo and her present-Howard. But I guess other than the weak romance, everything else was ok. Also, I loved how the protagonist was not afraid to be herself which was a good message to the readers.

It depicts the story of Jo, who is dragged along to see a clairvoyant by her friends. Although at first very uninterested in what Betty has to say, a series of events later she makes an amazing discovery about her life - past and present. The language used at first was slightly colloquial but I persevered - it was worth it in the end.
