In her senior year, sweet and shy Jocelyn befriends the ever-popular and hunky Eric Jordan. When his smart, ivy-league brother comes home from school for a 4 month break before his internship, the minute he lays eyes on Jocelyn he is smitten. Despite Alex's playboy past, he is taken with Jocelyn and gives her many firsts to remember: This book was light and cute. I loved reading about Jocelyn and Alex, and also the internal struggles that Jocelyn faced in the time that she found out she was pregnant but when Alex was away.
At times it was frustrating because I wish she had told Alex right away since it could have avoided a lot of drama, but at the same time I understood where she was coming from and felt her reasoning for keeping it from him was justified as well. In the beginning of the book, I felt like things were rushed and glazed over to get to the story.
In a way I was appreciative of this, but at other times I wished that Ella Jade would have taken her time a bit more to describe and explain things, to show rather than tell things. I suppose this got better more into the book, but I think it overall continued throughout the book. Feelings, situations, developments of relationships, etc.
I think such would have made for an even more emotionally moving story, although this is not to say I wasn't moved and my breath didn't catch or my stomach didn't clench at times when reading about Jocelyn's thoughts, fears, and insecurities. But Alex was perfect, Jocelyn was sweet, and overall the story was cute. All in all I sweet book and I'm glad I read it. Apr 09, Kerahia rated it it was amazing Shelves: Hardly any drama Quick sweet read. Jun 08, Jenn rated it really liked it Recommended to Jenn by: Buddy read with Jo Jo. Jocelyn becomes friends with the ever so popular boy Evan Jordan.
While working on class project together at his house she runs in to his brother Alex. Alex is much older than our HS senior Jocelyn by about 5 years. Once Alex see's Jocelyn he is taken by her looks, flirts with her decides he would like to take her out on a date. She's never been on a date or had a boyfriend. She is truly an innocent girl who is swept up by Alex, as she has heard stories about him and has seen plenty of his photo Jocelyn becomes friends with the ever so popular boy Evan Jordan.
She is truly an innocent girl who is swept up by Alex, as she has heard stories about him and has seen plenty of his photos through out his house. Alex is home for 4 months before he is off to do an internship and he ends up dating Jocelyn during this time frame. There is something about this young girl that makes him want to be a better man and he truly falls in love with her. He is patient in their relationship and eventually they succumb to their physical attraction and she ends up pregnant.
Alex leaves for his internship and has no idea what he has left behind, however he does know he is coming back to his home town and back to Jocelyn.
She is scared about being pregnant and alone and makes some choices that she thinks are best for everyone involved. What made this book for me honestly were these points: Alex's patient and loving ways with Jocelyn 2. Jocelyn made him want to be a better man for her 3. How protective he gets over her and the baby 4.
Jul 13, B. Love rated it really liked it. While they are working one day Jocelyn meets Alex, Evan's older brother who is home for a break from college. The two start dating while he is on break and they are inseparable. Before Alex goes back to school they agree to stay together while he's away. After Alex goes back to school Jocelyn find out she's pregnant.
The story tells about there relationship before she's pregnant and how she deals with the pregnancy while Alex is back at school, what happens when Alex finds out she is pregnant and how they deal with the pregnancy together. I loved Alex and I was rooting for Jocelyn and Alex the whole time. Alex's family and Jocelyn's dad were also great characters I grew to care about.
The ending of the story was perfect I couldn't have chosen a better ending than Ella Jade wrote. I'm really glad I read this book it was well worth the price, I would definatly look for Ella Jade's future books. My only complaint was that I wish the book was longer because I liked the book so much.
Apr 09, J rated it really liked it. Apr 11, Morgan rated it really liked it Shelves: Jocelyn and Alex, the two main characters, couldn't be more different. She's in high school. He's already graduated from college. She doesn't have many friends. He has a pretty active social life. She was raised by her dad. He was raised by his two parents. She's an only child. He has two siblings.
Like I said, Jocelyn and Alex couldn't be more different, but they are the perfect match for one another. You can't help but root for them. Jocelyn and Alex are extremely likable characters. Jocelyn was completely inexperienced before she met Alex. She had never been on a date. She had never been kissed. She had never had sex. I loved experiencing all of her firsts through her eyes. Her inner dialogue was very realistic for an inexperienced young adult.
Her hopes, fears, concerns, and desires were extremely on base. Jade did a fabulous developing Jocelyn and Alex's relationship. Their feelings were realistic and developed at a natural pace. Throughout the novel, you could feel their chemistry, their hormones, and their feelings getting stronger. I recommend this novel to mature young adults.
Jade's forte is adult romance novels so her language and her descriptions are fairly graphic. I really enjoyed reading this book. D The author writes clean and I like her stlye. Really love it when a guy chances from his player ways and that girl who thinks she isn't worth it is actually worth much more. Although there times where times when I wanted to scream at my phone at how stupid Joce was - I couldn't really do it because I had to understand her, from her point of view alone. Ale I really enjoyed reading this book. I love him, really I do: D Player turned One-Man woman And the fact he stepped in, all angry-sexy when he found out she was pregnant for him?
So yh - call me bias in this case but I whole heartedly love this book from the start to the finish. View all 3 comments. Jul 12, Amanda Sheila rated it liked it Shelves: Good but not exactly my favorite. It's true though, don't judge a book by its cover. This book's cover is kind of creeping me out to be honest but turns out the story's pretty good.
About a young girl dealing with her early pregnancy but of course, the ending is happy and she got the guy. Too bad I can read the 'Twilight' resemblances. There are too many factors in this book that reminds me of Twilight and that's a bit disappointing. I wonder, does this book was a Fanfic? This was another hidden gem. Thanks to my good friend Jenn I read it over the weekend. It was a very sweet book. I for sure would say this is for more of an older young adult group or for adults. The content and steamy scenes are a bit much for a younger group.

He leaves for internship, she finds out she's pregnant and doesn't tell him as she doesn't want to hold him back. He comes home and finds out but doesn't react all that well to it. He eventually accepts and welcomes them both and they end up together in the end. Liked the characters and the story line. It was enjoyable and showed character of accepting mistakes and moving on with responsibility.
Feb 28, Laura added it. I know the cover isn't great but the story is. In the book we are introduced to Jocelyn while she is contemplating looking at the pregnancy test she just took. The book switches to flashbacks of how she met Alex and all the firsts she got to experience with him first date, kiss, and her first time having sex Jocelyn and Alex make the mistake of having unprotected sex one night. It results in a surprise pregnancy but also a secret kept by Jocelyn. Alex is leaving for a couple of months so Jocelyn I know the cover isn't great but the story is.
Alex is leaving for a couple of months so Jocelyn decided that she would rather tell him face to face when he gets back to town. Alex tried to keep in contact with Jocelyn while he was away, but fearing she would tell him about the pregnancy, she decided to keep her distance. While at the mall, Jocelyn runs into Alex's younger brother who immediately figures out about the pregnancy, thanks to her now visibly showing.
He demands she tell Alex immediately about the baby as he would be in town the next day. Jocelyn and Alex have a couple tense days but ultimately settles into a very welcomed routine for them both.
Alex is invited to go to Jocelyn's next ultrasound to find out the sex of the baby, who ends up to be a girl. The story ends 5 years later with the couple being now married, homeowners, Jocelyn finishing her Degree in communications, Alex working, and both of them enjoying every minute that they can with their daughter Alexa.
Jocelyn also reveals she is once again pregnant but this time they are both ready. I surprising enjoyed this book a lot. It definitely has parts where all girls can relate but it also shows you the struggle being a teen mom-to-be. Jul 22, Shadow rated it it was amazing. I loved this book! The characters were awesome and not just the main ones. Alex has parents and two siblings and they're all very close, where Jocelyn only has her dad and they dont really talk. Ella created a story that is fantastic and if you think the blurb sounds good, read the story.
The blurb doesnt even compare to the real thing. This story hooked me and i couldnt put the book down till i was don I loved this book! This story hooked me and i couldnt put the book down till i was done. The characters have such an attraction to one another and i loved how they hit it off right away. Jocelyn is best friends with Alex's brother Evan and thats how they meet. Alex in a sense is kinda the good boy that likes to act bad.
He likes to please his dad and does whatever he can to but when it comes to women, he wants a different one every night. Then he meets Jocelyn and he wants just her. He ends up leaving for school and Jocelyn finds out shes pregnant and doesnt tell him I promise you wont be disappointed. This book was great and the characters, you could feel what they were feeling. The story and characters grab you. I'll definitely be checking out more work by Ella in the future. Aug 26, Jamie rated it it was amazing. The very first time I read the synopsis, I knew have to buy a copy and put down whatever book I was reading at the moment.
So at the wee hours of the morning, there I was buying this one and is done reading it overnight! It was crazy impulse but defo worth it! I'm really not a fan of stories where high school girls get pregnant because they don't usually have the best ending. I've read quite a few and it only made me feel sad and me being a sucker for happy endings that I am, I had a bit of hesitations. The reviews helped a lot though, I patiebtly read each and every reviews only to be more excited because a lot of reader mentioned about 'Alex'.
Alex is a much older guy than Jocelyn and I love how sweet their relationship progressed into something much deeper. He was so adorable towards her and I didn't see in him the typical 'cockiness' some hero's have in their personalities which readers reall dig because it makes them really look hot.
I love how responsible both characters were in handling their relationships especially Alex. I couldn't be more satisfied in staying late just so I can finish reading this. It's gonna be on my fave list and I'm now itching to read it again. I thought this was a short and sweet read. I really loved how Alex changed from a playboy to a loving man for Jocelyn. He spent his youth using women because they allowed him to.
Jocelyn's Choice has ratings and reviews. Splage said: 4 starsDon't judge this book by its cover, which I thought was very unappealing, it wa. Best books like Jocelyn's Choice: #1 Weight of the World (Old Wounds, #3) #2 Once Upon A Temptation #3 Live In Position #4 Gilded Cage #5 A Multitude of.
Jocelyn is an innocent, shy young woman in her senior year of high school when she starts hanging out with Evan, Alex's younger brother. I really liked how Jocelyn and Evan never even thought of dating each other, they just knew they were meant to be friends. I really didn't like Brenna and Julia. The way they treated J I thought this was a short and sweet read. The way they treated Jocelyn was horrible, but it did add a little to the story. I think Jocelyn made the wrong decision, because she almost lost Alex. But I can also see why she made the decision as well. It wasn't made for selfish reasons but she just ended up hurting them both in the process.
Loved the names in this book by the way. Jocelyn my sisters name , Brenna my daughters name , and Evan our pick for a boys name if Brenna would have been a boy! Nov 20, Xi rated it it was amazing Shelves: I was just in the mood for this kind of book. It was sweet, funny and endearing and I loved every single second. I really warmed to Alex and Jocelyn especially because with young adult books the writers often make the characters act like children, making really stupid mistakes or lying to each other.
Some people might find Jocelyn's choice to keep the pregnancy a secret annoying and immature but I understood she really cared about Alex finishing his internship and telling him in person so I thou I was just in the mood for this kind of book. Some people might find Jocelyn's choice to keep the pregnancy a secret annoying and immature but I understood she really cared about Alex finishing his internship and telling him in person so I thought it was reasonable. Loved the other characters too apart from the two bitches Alex's sister and best friend but thought the showed Alex's protectiveness towards Jocelyn.
Only tiny thing is I wish it was longer as I thought the ending was a bit rushed also I rarely read a book under pages overall loved this book sooo much and it is definitely an all time favourite.

Jones rated it did not like it Shelves: I would have given it one and a half stars if I could have. I knew that it was fanfiction before I read it, but I had hoped that it was going to be different. I didn't read the fanfiction before I read this but I could basically tell who each character was.
Klutziness, Police Chief father, etc. I don't know why those things were kept in the book. Its not like Max had to be a police chief, or that Jack had to be a doctor. I already had a hunch from the blurb that it was going to be an emotional book. I think their first meeting was very realistic and endearing because she was so shy and yet he was drawn to her. Yes, it is a pretty emotional book. I dug deep for this one and tried to remember what it was like being an 18 yr old girl in love.
And, Alex is so sweet to her. I think thats why I want to read it so bad, because I can relate to it, I got pregnant at Heather — These are exactly the comments I get when people read the book. So many women can relate to the situation Jocelyn is in.
She has so many obstacles to overcome but she figures it all out in the end. As much as I tried to be realistic, I also wanted the element of romance too.

It had been over five minutes, more than enough time to get the results I was dreading. I had been throwing up for over two weeks now. At first, I thought it was just the stress I felt over him leaving. Three weeks and two days, to be exact. My stomach did another flip just thinking about it. I stood up and rinsed out my mouth, my gaze veering over toward the pregnancy test.
My hands trembled as I slowly picked it up. I forced myself to look. I needed the confirmation. I even knew exactly when it happened. The day of the week, and where we were. But, how did I let this happen? I knew the answer to that too. Evan Jordan and I had become pretty good friends during our senior year of high school.
He was by far the cutest, most unattainable boy at J. Clarke High, and I was exceptionally shy, awkward, clumsy, and smart enough to know he was off-limits. Today, I think they were in the on-again phase. Evan and I were lab partners for the year. He was smart, funny, caring, and a really good friend. After a few days, we hit it off, and I was glad to have him in my life. I was smart, but not brilliant. I came from modest means. I often referred to him as Max behind his back, a habit I picked up as a child. He worked long hours, hung out with his friends, and liked to watch an unhealthy amount of sports.
I was growing rather attached to his parents, too. He lived in a huge house with what appeared to be the perfect family. His father, Jack, was a prominent surgeon at a Denver hospital. Jack loved his family very much and catered to their every whim. They all drove really expensive cars and wore only the best designer clothes. Sarah Jordan was a fantastic wife and mother. She doted on Evan, his sister, Brenna, and their older brother, Alex.
At twenty-one, Brenna, a goddess in her own right, still lived at home. He was a straight-A student and always had been. He was hanging out back East until he made a decision on what he should do next. According to Evan, Alex was struggling to decide if he should enroll in medical school to become a psychiatrist.
Apparently, he was also a pretty good baseball player and had made a name for himself at J. Max said how thrilled he was that I had made such impressive friends. He and Brenna possessed similar features and favored Jack with their blond hair and pale skin. Evan looked more like their mother, but I could definitely see Jack in him too. I often found myself daydreaming about Alex when I was alone. How silly was that? It was clear by the way Evan talked about his brother that he looked up to him. Julia seemed pretty taken by him too. It was more to please Brenna and Ryan when they went out and felt like having company.
Julia was still holding out hope, but who could blame her? Evan had been texting Cali for the better part of an hour. Her texts are getting too involved. My mother stocked the fridge with that iced tea you like. My own father probably had no idea I drank iced tea.
He did the best he could, but lots of things slipped through the cracks.
